  1. I'm not sure exactly what they are called . . . projection headlights, HIDs or whatever, but you guys know the new generation of headlights I'm talking about. Has anyone used some of the "bead" components from HobbyLobby or Michaels to simulate that type headlight? If so, what product and what size did you use. Thanks, Phil
  2. , a professional grumpy old man.

  3. Believe it or not, my dad gave me his 4-track tape player before I could afford an 8-track. I don't know how many 8 tracks and then casettes I've installed for friends over the years. Given that I'm 6'5" and 275 lbs, I was the Georgia Grizzly. I was living in Chattanooga at the time CBs were all the rage. They really are pretty handy, though.
  4. The eBay listing didn't show the Stude FC. Do you still have that?
  5. I know that words from someone else can't take away that hollow, sick feeling, but you're not in this alone. My wife and I lost 4. But God has a perfect plan for you and the Mrs. that we can't begin to understand. In His perfect time, it will fall in place. After we lost 4, we had 2, one of each 4 years apart, and have been blessed by them being sent to us to watch over. Know that we're lifting you in prayer. Phil
  6. Yes! That let me completely understand what was going on. Very nicely done and thanks so much for sharing. I will definitely be ordering a punch set like yours and finding some screen.
  7. Right, let's order a dozen! Did you see the 1967 Drag Team Combo for a piddling 600 bucks?
  8. [Great job Curt; thanks for taking the time to share this. Please excuse my tired ole eyes and tell me about the forming tool. What is yours and what exactly is it for. I assume making the screen a certain shape, but what shape? Sorry to be so thick.
  9. Need to check to make sure my order got there. Anybody have an email for Norm at RMCM? thanks.
  10. WOW!!!! And here I am balking at paying $125 or so for a killer Cobra Copupe kit. I guess I'm just a cheap ol SOB. I'm definitely a crusty ole fart in retirement!
  11. Yep, Tom's right. Paul @ PSF HOBBIES http://www.psfhobbies.com/ has some good late model Mustang parts as does Don at Reliable Resin, although his site isn't up to date so kinda hard to tell what he has. Try this link. Reliable Resin on eBay http://stores.ebay.com/RELIABLE-RESIN_06-08-MUSTANG-pkgs-misc_W0QQ_fsubZ683017017QQ_sidZ103988427QQ_trksidZp4634Q2ec0Q2em322
  12. Did you piece yours together or did you have some kind of plans? I'd love to be able to do one myself!
  13. It seems every time I go online to look for building supplies, I find one piece and one piece there and something else yet elsewhere. The shipping would eat me alive to buy 1 piece from everyone. Is it a pipe dream to find at least most of my building supplies at one place? Mainly looking for bottled enamel. Is there a vendor out there where I can pick up Testors enamel, Boyd enamels and HOK products? Also need to get some Plastistruct Bondene and a polishing kit. I sure would like to find a source for all this stuff! Any ideas? Thanks, Phil
  14. Man, sorry you are going through this, but you are indeed blessed. It wasn't your time. You were protected for a reason.
  15. I got an electric blue StingRay with A SLICK!!! for Christmas of 64. I believe that was the first year for them. Sure wish I had it now. Single speed, Bendix coaster brake. I was the wheelstand king of my neighborhood. I've ridden various bicycles through the years, but have had to give in to Arthritis.
  16. Looks like I've been able to save enough nickels to get a reasonable airbrush. Something in the back of my mind keeps telling me that one of the manufacturers uses a different size hose / coupling than everyone else. Is that so? If so, which one is the odd man out?
  17. I'm planning to recreate a 67 Chevelle SS that my buddy had. The problem is that I haven't seen it for 40 yrs and the ole memory isn't razor-sharp anymore. It was a cream / ivory color w/ black vinyl top. It was a bench seat car and the former owner says the interior was "gold". What was available in 67? Could it be more like a "wheat" interior or was it a true "gold". Any help much appreciated! Thanks, Phil
  18. IF it is a #s matching and is really collectible, then restore. If just about anything else, restify. I rebuilt a 71 Chevelle with my son as his first car. We updated to disc brakes, modern technology where possible and completely revamped the suspension so it handled like a go-kart and not like a bread truck (as most unaltered A-bodies did).
  19. I'll be using the Dencon front end.
  20. Thanks Marc. Didn't realize this and adding length to a chasis is a tad over my head right not.
  21. Thanks Marc. Looks like it'll be a nice build you have waiting on you. I plan to convert it to a 71. Gotta get me a resin body first, though.
  22. Does anybody make a 71 - 72 El Camino in resin? I need to find one to put on the AMT 72 Chevelle SS kit. Thanks.
  23. Thanks Bill. He has the Cheetah and a Cobra Coupe. Now all I gotta do is save my nickels.
  24. Wow!! Brings back old memories. When I was 13, I got one for Christmas of '64 when they were brand new. (the grandfather of BMX). That first year, there weren't any handbrakes or gears. Bendix coaster brake, no fenders. Mine was electric blue with a SLICK !!!!! as opposed to the others that had knobby tires. I used to wheelie for blocks at a time on that thing. Thanks for sharing!!
