  1. I'm looking for a QuadCam Hemi cast from either the one in the 70 SuperBee ProStreet or something similar. Anybody know who has these in good quality? Thanks.
  2. Brandon, looking good buddy. Keep up the good work, but don't rush it. Keep us posted my friend.
  3. Sweet!!!! Please do keep us posted on your progress. Nice work!
  4. Yeah, and it's time for me to step up and say Thank You Harry. I know it's a big responsibility and time-consuming. I appreciate what you do to keep the forum running and I thoroughly enjoy the forum. Phil
  5. 1966 Karmann Ghia. Probably couldn't get into one now! Bought it off a Navy mechanic who was POd that he got called back to active duty right after he had transplanted a Porsche engine into it. All my friends were jacking their cars up and I was the only one lowering a car. It was a 4 cyl. 912 engine from a wreck, but it was still SWEET. Wish I had it now!!!!!!
  6. Too bad you're not going on a motorcycle (my other obsession). TONS of beautiful roads to tour. Go through Gatlinburg and check out Cade's Cove. My wife LOVED the shopping. They've got a humongous outlet complex just west of Pigeon Forge in Sevierville. Gotta do the tourist thing and ride the chair lift (it really is enjoyable) in Gatlinburg. TONS of great places to eat between the 3 cities. Check out the Pancake Pantry (I think that's what it's called) in Gatlinburg. It's a "must do" for me when I make it up that way. Enjoy
  7. If different paints / media use different pressures, how are we to know what pressure to use with what? Thanks.
  8. Good for you buddy. Slow and steady and taking time for prep will really help the quality of the finished build. Keep us posted.
  9. Nice score Chuck!!!! I've found a handful of good buys over the last year or so, but I don't think any of them we as killer as this was. Congratulations!!
  10. Cool!!! That's the way to do business.
  11. Thanks for all the opinions and info guys. That's exactly why I post here; you guys are so knowledgeable and I humbly accept all advice, opinions, facts etc. Not being sarcastic at all here . . . you guys are really the greatest resource for an old fool trying to re-start modeling. I was planning on looking for the Ferrari 512S next. I already have my McLaren and Chapparal. I have SUCH GREAT memories of going with my best friend to Road Atlanta and camping out in the huge infield for the weekend to see the CanAm races and other interesting (to me) races. I'd like to ultimately model the main players from those days. I guess I should try to find a printed history of CanAm racing to understand better what I will need. Thanks again guys. Phil
  12. I'm looking for a Porsche 917, preferably an open cockpit as they ran in the 71-72 CanAm series. I'll settle for a coupe, but would prefer the open one. 24th or 25th scale. Thanks for any help. Price IS an issue on this.
  13. I sent in my $.02 worth to Revell on this. I imagine they'll listen to me about like my wife does. Sure would like to see a '10 or '11 Super Sport or something of that ilk.
  14. Really nice, Cesar. I love the concept and am planning a similar build myself. What kind of mesh did you use for the grille? Nice work man!!
  15. Great minds think alike. I have images of that thing with a blown Viper V10 stuffed into a tubbed chassis! Sick, huh?
  16. I recently went through the same dilema. After much asking and looking, I got a Paasche H single action. Don Yost uses this gun and recommends it as all he needs. Don turns out some of the most incredible models and paintjobs I've ever seen. If it doesn work out, I can always use my son's Iwata double action. Not sure which model it is, but he does extremely fine / close work on latex masks (primarily the "Predator" character) for resale and they're awesome. Besides the fact that Don recommends it, I know how I am and I fear the double action wouldn't get cleaned well enough to avoid clogging problems. That's just me.
  17. Thanks guys. Got just what I sought, y'alls advice. I like to get other opinions before I commit on something like this.
  18. I would like to build a "what if" T/A racer out of one of the new gen Mustangs. I think I have just about everything sourced except for a suitable engine. Is there a fire-breathing Ford engine in some other kits that would be suitable for a TransAm racer? Thanks, Phil
  19. Well, Bob, as usual these are spectacular builds. On eht Mustang, did it come with that stance or did you persuade it?
  20. Johnny, have already prayed for her, and you, and will continue to. Please keep us posted. I pray God's blessings on you both.
  21. Thanks guys. That's what I was afraid of. Bob, I'll check into the Jada. I also hope Revell will get off it and do the production car. I'm hoping to do a complete set of "what if" TransAm cars including the Camaro, Mustang and Challenger.
  22. Have I missed something or is the 2006 Concept Camaro all that is available to build the new Camaro? Thanks for any help. Phil
  23. Thanks gents!! I'll just have to be slow and steady. With my horrendous eyesight and light tremors in my hands, this ought to be a real challenge.
  24. I keep seeing really nicely done American (and similar) TorqThrust wheels with the spokes gunmetal gray and the rin being a bright silver alloy. I'd like to hear from several of you how you do such a good job without having the least bit of paint get past the masking however you do it. In other words, I'd like to know how to mask and paint the wheels to get such a great professional result. Thanks for any and all tips. Phil
  25. Those look pretty good bro. What section are they in? In other words, what will find them with. Thanks!!
