  1. Those are some stunning trucks! Raised or lowered they all look great.
  2. This is a kit I would definitely like to do someday if I can find one. I've got a stupid question. How did you do the two-tone interior, namely the darker parts of the seats?
  3. That Camaro looks spectacular! The '69 Indy pace car has to be my favorite Camaro. I love the white with orange stripes. The orange interior is very cool.
  4. I like it! That Bronco looks a little to clean. Needs some mud on it.
  5. That thing is wild! I love it!
  6. Same here. I was hoping to watch some off-road racing. Other than that, I'm not a big fan of racing anymore. It's all too boring to me nowadays.
  7. That thing is wild! I really like it.
  8. After thinking it over for a bit I think I am going to hold off on posting any pictures. I don't want to start anything, so until we can get a separate forum for posting other kinds of models I will wait.
  9. I did my first model way back when I was about 11 or 12. It was Revell's 1/570 RMS Titanic. When I put it together I glued it first and then painted it. What a mistake that was! I remember I kept braking the propellers, so I just cut out pieces of paper in the same shape. I then painted them and glued them on. The masts didn't fare too well, either. I kept having to glue them back together, too. A couple years ago I threw out all my old models that I built when I was younger except a few that were in better condition. I probably had about 20-30 that went out in the trash.
  10. I was wondering, would it be ok to post some pictures of non-vehicular models? I know some of us build other things like ships and aircraft. Right now I am continuing work on Revell's 1/146 (or 1/196, I don't know) USS Constitution. I had posted in the bad model kit thread that I stuffed it back in the box. A couple days later I got it back out reasoning I had already put too much time into it. I don't like to leave a kit unfinished no matter how bad it might be. I've got a ways to go yet, but I am kind of glad I continued it. It is starting to look good. I was just wondering if I could post some pics when I'm done for those who may be interested? I have never done a sailing ship before and love the way they look. Doing all that rigging has always kind of intimidated me.
  11. That truck looks really nice! Kind of reminds me of all the old farm trucks that putt around on the road around here. Seems like they can never get over 40 mph.
  12. That's what I did. I have cheap foil from Walmart and some gold leaf adhesive from a craft store. The closest Hobby Lobby did not have any foil adhesive, but another craft store did. It works ok. The main thing I don't like is having to wait an hour or so for the adhesive to get tacky. I did my Polar Lights 1965 Dodge Coronet 500 using this method. It came out ok for my first time. I love the look of the foil, but I've got to get better at it.
  13. That's a great looking tanker! It is very well done. Looks like it could start right up and drive to the next job.
  14. I guess the kinds of kits I am drawn to most are classic and contemporary American muscle cars, sports cars, and trucks. I haven't built too many vehicles over the years, but my favorite one I have done has always been the Dodge Ram VTS. I'm going to get another one eventually.
  15. I've been following this thread and the number of bad kits is eye-popping. Even though it's not a vehicle I just wanted to give a little update on my 1/196 USS Constitution by Revell. The update is: I stuffed it back in the box. That thing is just dreadful. Maybe someday when I'm feeling masochistic I will get it out again. The instructions have a copyright of 1987 (they're lousy, too), so I'm not sure if later molds are better or not.
  16. Welcome to the forums. That's a really nice combo!

    Red Baron

That's one good looking hotrod. I've been wanting to see what this one looked like. I've seen the other two in this series and have to say all of them look great.
  18. It's hard to say what hasn't been said already but spectacular save! It looks stunning. That black paint job is so smooth.
  19. This thread sure has timing! I'm not working on a car at the moment, but Revell's 1/196 USS Constitution is driving me crazy (it was given to me). I haven't done anything with it the past few days. I just can't being myself to do anything with it. There is excess plastic residue on just about everything. I'm always having to shave it off. Holes are not done right. Either the part the hole is meant for doesn't fit, or there is some more left over plastic residue. It was a major PITA trying to fit 20 little cannons in their trucks because the pegs on the cannons didn't want to fit in their holes. I've forgotten what such a pain it is to work on such a small scale ship. I've got the hull pieces painted, 34 TINY little cannons painted (I never want to do that again ) and glued to their spots on the hull pieces. I haven't done anything since. I can already tell the main masts are going to need modifying to even fit in their spots. The holes aren't even done right. The masts have a half-circle peg and the hole has a half-circle "mold" in it so the mast, in theory, will fit properly. The half-circle mold in the hole is at an angle, so the mast would not be straight. I'm wishing I never even opened the dumb box!

    Jeeps

Great collection of Jeeps. I really like the lawn mowers! Are they scratchbuilt?
  21. Those are some good pictures! I especially liked that little hot rod lawn mower.
  22. Your camper is just too cool! I love it! Hurry up and hook that baby up to something!
  23. That looks pretty cool! It's a nice, clean build. Time to dirty it up some!
  24. That car looks amazing! I think it would be a hit if it was actually produced.
