  1. Small update: Despite that the paint issues I'd been having with that sweet resin cowl hood from LSM being COMPLETELY my fault (no fault of the hood or LSM),being the ever-killer-kool guy that Alex is,he wouldn't hear of it,he insisted on molding up and sending out a fresh hood to me! Well,I got it in Monday, but things have been conspiring against my building time this week,so I'm just now getting the pacjage opened up. I'll be getting back on this ASAP Thanks again,Alex, you're the best,Brother!
  2. LOL,I didn't getta see it (Jonathan). I'll have to watch Super 8 again now,LOL,I didn't catch it!
  3. Jonathan: Pretty sure it's prime with body color overspray. Tony: IDK...what does everyone else think? Post a bunch of built-earlier correct year Mustangs?
  4. Personally,I'm diggin BOTH of y'alls Ideas! Just wish I didn't lack the skill and bench\project-space to do my own (NOT false modesty there....)
  5. Those were such gorgeous trucks,I'd LOVE to see a reissue too!!! (and that's further worsened,my wanting one,buy the recent exposure of 1:1 customs in ol skool truck mags,LOL! ) This one's looking AWESOME so far,I can't wait to see what you do with it! (Oh and Walt, about those steelies...you see the wide whites on it and the airbagged stance too, right? )
  6. There's an episode of "Yes Dear" where Kim's parents,Vicky Lawerance and Tim Conway (played those parts) were visiting and Tim had retired and they were all looking for a hobby for him (he finally settled on comics and something like dressing the part for kids),and there's a whole scene where they were building model car kits (I can't remember what ones, been a while),and Tim Conway glued the kit's body on his forehead,as did the brother-in-law.
  7. ARGH!!! Everything's conspiring against my planned build-days,LOL! Even the flu-bugs going around the elementary school that sent my son home today =\

  8. I just drooled ALL over the keyboard! AWESOME collection,my friend, just flat AWESOME!!! :D
  9. You got that right,Brother...if she actually goes into that closet and does some real thinking...I'm SUNK! +2! I got two finished so far this year, but that Bullitt I'm building will get done if nothing else. Here's a Tamyia Nissan 350Z that was almost finished before January 1,2011,but that I picked back up and finished... and here's how it looks now, after the house fire back in June... And this snapper '85 Dodge Daytona Turbo (Non-Z)... When I get the Bullitt done,I'll add a pic of it here (and any others...as if )
  10. VERY nicely done!!!
  11. SIgh...IDK what I think about it,LOL! My first thought was "It's fugly,it's gunna be slow...",but I look outside in the eves when the Wife is home and remember fondly all the miles and years served by her '00 Neon ES and think "Hey,you know what?",but then I look parked behind the house in the other driveway and I see my avatar parked.... SRT would be a killer option if done right...I'd be more apt to be willing to trade my Stang in on a Neon SRT 4 than I would a Challenger RT (and I'm NOT a tuner lover-guy),and if they did this one up right...nah! But eventually her Neon will wear out and we'll be looking to trade it up
  12. Black basecoat is what I did too with that Duplicolor.
  13. Jonathan, probly (hide em),LOL! I had to run to Kingsport today for an appt, and figured I'd not been in a Hobby Lobby in years (trucking days,OK City,OK-stopped every week to check their model stash ) so I ran in and they had a 30% off coupon on plastic kits, and I got another one for an additional 20% off (that's HALF PRICE!)...I was REALLY hoping they'd have had the GT500 kit (and these, the snappers),but alls they had was a '10 GT,and alls I had was $15,so I bought an extra GT and some brushes. I guess I'm gunna have to get going faster on the current wip's,get Nick's '70 going, and then maybe I can justify (to Nick,my son) why Daddy's working on another one for hiself before his is done,LOL!
  14. Sigh...I need to just do SOMETHING with em,haven't done much since before Turkey Day,just piddled with the interior a bit,and been dragging ever since. Iain't never gunna get to Nick's '70 if I slide into a non-building funk on the Bullitt...on another note, while in Magic Mart (not a "right down the street" place anymore, but was out that way with daBoss Lady this eve) to get some brush cleaner,I saw the have '06 GT kits,'07 GT500 kits and '66 GTH kits for $12.99 each...I may run back out there and pick up that '66 to build alongside the '08 (?) GTH I have in the stash (run back out there, you know, when she isn't with me )
  15. I think I'm gunna buy one more sooner than I planned, and a couple more after the new year
  16. Oranellow? Looks great to my eye,and I second the blacked out wheels
  17. YW I know the lifts you speak of. Never had one,but I did have a complete set of garage tools incuding a 1:24 lift a couple-few years ago, didn't wanna fiddle with building em,so I sent em to a friend on the other side of the land to build em for me (payment included) and the only time they's been mentioned since has been "Well,I haven't gotten to it yet...I might just send em back to ya" ....but otherwise he's a great friend I appreciate having so I never said anything. Besides,I know I certainly get out of the mood and put stuff off (yes, even for a couple-few years ) and one day he'll do em up and send em (had he already done it,they'd have burned in the house fire back in June anyways,LOL!)
  18. AWESOME build! And it's only your third??? Sweetness!
  19. They didn't put the uptop in because it's both aimed at young builders and it would raise the (pretty low) price of the kit,and they already had those wheels so modding the mold didn't cost much either would be my guess there. I agree though, would have loved an uptop...my 1:1 ragtop's (my avatar) might be down lots in the summer\Fall,but it's UP mostly now,LOL,it'd be nice to have that option with the kit too.
  20. LOL,I hear ya (wind) . When that happens I step inside the shed and spray, but there's no light,so that's daytime
  21. I'm not too anal about it,if I'm sure it can't be seen I don't go out of my way to paint it,BUT I leave very little left unpainted since I spray almost everything and use rattlecans (overspray). Wayne, that's a good looking CAI,and I dig your avatar
  22. AWESOME!!! I love that kit,one of my favorites (when freshly released,it was the kit that got me back into building a few years back),I REALLY like yours, smoot, clean!
  23. Well,Mark G...you're part of it now,LOL! It isn't so much a build-off as it is a place to share the love of these cars\these kits, welcome to the fold Your Bullitt looks KILLER cool!
