Olskoolrodder replied to polandmob's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I'm LOVING this one!!! (my 1:1's a '94 GT) Nicel progress so far :D -
Ah crappola! I forgot to black the vents on the dash,LOL! Thanks for those progress pics,Jonathan, and good thing for me I ain't done nothing to it in a few days,eh? (a mixture of northern and southern twang,ha! ) It's looking good,my friend!

Can't wait to see pics! Mine's still sitting, was planning to get it finished over the weekend (I knew better, with the Wife and kids all off and in the house on weekends,LOL),AND today, but I wound up having to run errands. Sigh,at least it's dry enough that I got to drive the GT,LOL!

My Grandma dropped off the Christmas $ (she gives the Wife, kids and I each cash, has us go pick out our gifts, bring em to her and that's that,LOL!),so I picked these up for my gifts...

I'm LOVING both the replica AND the 1:1! NICE :D

Mike: AWESOME tip on trim paint (wish I'd thought of that,LOL! NEXT build in the series though ),and looking great too! Jonathan: Looking GREAT!
-
I haven't looked at em yet...I did crack it open, but just to see what my color choices would be (based on decal colors).
-
Forces me to limit ongoing projects at one time also,LOL! My biggest problem is DUST...this place might be a COMPLETELY remodeled (literally everything but the walls themselves brand new before we bought it) house, but it's MUCH dustier than the old place...welcome to city living town houses I suppose,LOL! I picked that up shortly after moving here at a local Goodwill for cheap. I could be better organised with it's layout (for eg: I could have supplies stashed in that cabinet rather than 6-8 kits...),but it's serving it's new purpose well so far

Mustang's had airbags from '90 and on,Mom n Pop bought 2 new ones (both LX hatches, hers a 2.3L his a 5.0L) in '89,and I remember Dad saying he was glad he'd bought one before the airbags came out (as a new tech,he thought poorly of em,LOL),and Mom saying she wanted to trade up a year to get one, being alls about safety. '89s got the 140 MPH speedo (V8 cars only),replacing the 85MPH units used in EVERYthing in the 80's. When they got the airbags in '90,Mustangs also lost the tilt steering column. (I also checked this out with Ford before just going on memory,FWIW)

Olskoolrodder replied to ranma's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
In NO particular order and all 1:24-1:25 scales: 1) Revell '10 Mustang GT 2) Revell '10 Shelby GT500 3) Mobeious '53 Hudson Hornet 4) Revell '10 Mustang GT ragtop snap kit 5) Revell '48 Ford (though I haven't picked one up yet,LOL!) 6) Revell '69 COPO Nova 7) Lindberg Charger police re-issue 8) AMT '50 Chevy truck (Texaco 9) Revell '66 Impala (that was 2011,wasn't it?) 10) Did I mention the Revell '10 Mustang kits? Hows bout some '11 kits,Revell, with the new 305 HP V6,Coyote 5.0L and that swanky new 650 HP GT500? -
We just rolled in from dinner out (the Wife's and my weekly thing),and guess what was parked-in the handicapped spot next to mine-right next to us....a '08-09 BLACK Bullitt! Chatted with him a bit whilest we was waiting to be called for a table,he too's an Army Vet,and bought his new. Thanks for the compliment on the seats. Actually,it's all the exact same color, shot from the same rattlecan all at the exact same shooting\moment. Duplicolor's Universal Black, uncleared.

Looks good to my eye,my friend (shade and what's done so far)!

I have yet to even look inside the box of mine (except to see what color decal stripes I had to work with). I can ALMOST picture that, looking forward to pics. Thanks for sharing it with us,my friend,it'll come in handy soon. Sorry to hear that,Jonathan...at least it ain't only me that does that,LOL! Piddled with sub-assemblies on the Bullitt today. Nevermind the dust in these shots,a blast of compressed air already took care of it,LOL! I also got most of the glass trimming done (needs another lite coat of Stop Light Red out back),so tomorrow (kid behaiors permitting ) I'll assemble all the bits on the body, apply some decals, mate it all together and start figuring the ride height using Mike's method, and see what I gots to do to mount those Pegasus wheels on there. It's in the home stretch now
-
At first I said "Oh-ho-ho-yeah!",then I saw the no snapper rule (was gunna do that '10 Mustang ragtop),LOL! That '70 BOSS 429 I'm about to start for the Boy will be OOB but also posted in that thread...is it still eligible? If not,I'll be doing some others in the near future
-
Lets do a 1964 1/2-1973 Mustang CBP to go with the others!
Olskoolrodder replied to Olskoolrodder's topic in Community Builds
Sweet! I had one of those before the fire-hadn't started it yet,but i'll get around to getting another sooner or later. Speaking of Bullitts,as I'm in the final stretch of sub-assemblies and final assembly after that on the '08 Bullitt,I'll be cracking the box on the for-Nick '70 BOSS really soon and getting going on it. It's gunna be pretty much a box-art build,he digs the red and those modern Bullitt-looking wheels on it. Won't be too awful much extra detailing on this one (probly won't even BMF the trim, just chrome-silver paint it),as he's apt to want to "play" with it,LOL! -
What are you trying to say...hitting so close to home like that? Cool backstory,my friend, that would just be cool had it happened. I'm diggin your idears on this one,it'll be killer to watch!
-
REALLY cool resto-mod! I almost mistook it for a Javelin,LOL,what was Shelby thinking?
-
Cool beans!
-
LOL,it ain't that hard,my friend. Yeah,I have black underneath,Duplicolor scratch-filler grey primer, followed by black, then the green, then the clear. Joshua,I meant to tell you,LOVING that fade job! I wasn't planning on a mockup until tomorrow, but I couldn't resist (besides,I gots to wait until the dishwasher runs it's course before crashing out ). Bear in mind, the wheels should tuck up in nicely,as far as I trim the Pegasus mounting "hubs" to go in. More tomorrow
-
I hate to hear of all the extra work you're having to do,Jonathan, been there myself. I got my new hood shot and cleared this eve,and piddled with the chassis a bit more. Hoping to get the chassis done tomorrow (all except for ride height and wheel\tire mounting),and the interior if at all possible. Here's what the new hood looks like... More to come
-
Ahhh, success!!! Prepped and primed, and smooth as a baby's butt, teeheehee! I'm working on sub-assemblies and I'll try and get this all done and sprayed by late tonight, post up a mockup then. More to come Joshua,PM sent

Can you get a pic? And maybe find out if he'd sell em seperate?
