Got a new-to-me/old PC desk,a bit larger and better organisation capabilities...sorry...what I got today was a new model bench, and my son will inherit my old one. No pics...it wouldn't fit the van, have to go back tomorrow with the trailer to get it

your work bench
Olskoolrodder replied to dabelltoller's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
A HUGE + 2 on that!!! :D Here's mine, but it's about to become my son's (not that I think he'll build very many models on it,but he needs the desk in his room, and will build occasionally too),as I found/bought a nicer, slightly larger one (still an old PC desk) at Goodwill today-it wouldn't fit the minivan without disassembly,so I'll go back for it tomorrow with trailer in tow Anyways,my old one... -
I'm sorry I hadn't seen this over here,Jonathan,or I would have extended mad props,my friend-they're looking AWEsome!

Hmm...lately? I leap frog books (meanng as I finish one genre, leap back to the other, and vice versa) between inspirational books (like Joel Osteen's "Everyday A Friday" or Joyce Meyer's "Battlefield of the Mind" so far this year) with bicycle themed books (generally someone's story, like "Take a Seat",one's story of north to south the entire continent on a tandem bike, and "Eat,Sleep,Ride",one's experience racing the Great Continetal Divide race...can't recall the authors and they're in the bedroom where the wife's currently asleep) a few chapters each night,as well as EVERYday devotional Bible reading (this year, for eg,I'm doing yet another in depth study, book by book,of the New Testimate, and will be readng through the New Testimate at least four times in the process from Jan 1 until Dec 31). You'll cach things such as the Halo and Gears of War novels in my hand (think XBox games ),to the Twilight series,to graphic novels,to...well,whatever peaks interest These in addition to buttloads of magazines (MCM being one of em),between 1:1 car/truck related,to several bicycle mags (my son and I will be featured riding around our city in Urban Velo, for eg,most likely in the May 1 issue,BTW,if you'll pardon the obvious plug* ),to whatever catches my fancy. I likes to read. Good thread here! * http://urbanvelo.org/

I'd LOVE to have one of those 1:1 for bike hauling,Jared! VERY nicely done!!!
-
Yep,that's the kit,DEFINATELY a '94-95 even if that hadn't been the kit, here's my 1:1 '94 for referance (ok,not mine anymore, sold it last month...) I think you did an AWESOME job on it,especially from that short time's worth of experince! Looks great, paint's smooth, and the headlights are a great first effort,MUCH better than I would have done, probably even now as long as I've built,LOL! Very nicely done,my friend, and welcome to the forums

She turned out AWESOME (my new favorite '36 Ford build seen anywhere!)!!! :D

Olskoolrodder replied to Sam Cates's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
My kids (son is 9,Nick or Nicholas, daughter just turned 15,Jamie)... My best furry buddy Moonlight (she's DEFINATELY a Daddy's girl,LOL!)...uh,look over the mess in the lower den, nobody but us ever goes in there My wife...would literally kill me and bury my carcass under the basement if I posted up a pc of her (which-a pic of her-is so rare as to be almost non-existant anyways...) -
Happy birthday george53

What's the story behind your user name/avatar?
Olskoolrodder replied to JollySipper's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Mine is a combo referance to a magazine I like (uh....Ol Skool Rodz),as well as the style of builds or 1:1's that I've been into most of my 38 years of living. I only started building more modern stuffs this go round of building (since '05 or so...and ok,there were a couple newer builds back when, but they were the exception, not the rule). The avatar? It's my 1:1 that I sold within the last month,'94 GT Ragtop, not quite as stock as it appears/appeared Hmmm...I guess the next ol skool rod model that I build,I may make it my avatar,or since I'm a cycling freak (meaning I love ANYthing bicycle related, and of course riding when I'm physically able),maybe a ride pic? Nah...different subjects (one's a beloved hobby-building,the other's a lifestyle ). -
Today I got an eBay invoice for a Moebius '55 Chrysler 300 and an AMT '65 Malibu wagon 4 'n 1 :D
