  1. Beautiful! I love the wheels and engine but never cared for the old AMT knobby looking tires. Not meant to bea criticism of your build. gus
  2. Nice job on a cool old custom. Well done gus
  3. I like them all but that 55 Chevy is outstanding . gus
  4. Great stuff! What shade of blue is the J&M car? gus
  5. As long as they don't bring back that ridiculous Nitro Charger body. The chassis was nice but the body was such a joke that even as a 12 year old I threw it in the trash and put the chassis under a Mustang body. gus
  6. That is nice and didn't know AMT ever did a kit like this either. gus
  7. Mrmike builds a Hemi Dart! I will be watching this one . gus
  8. Got the body and chassis together last night. All thats left is the front and back ends and some under hood details. That's the kit decal on the hood. I might just rip it off and try to paint it instead. She's looking very 70s don't you think? gus
  9. Stay away from the one called Hyperscale unless you enjoy being insulted. gus
  10. Very cool custom and the new bumpers will really set it off. gus
  11. Nice work! You did a great job of fitting the front and rear fascias on the body. Beautiful Shelby gus
  12. Thanks Rickey. I flat coated the orange areas with Testors Acryl flat clear brushed on. The black is Acryl semi gloss black so it wasn't flat coated. The package shelf is Acryl flat black. I've been using Acryl paint for detailing for years and this bottle of semi gloss is glossier than what I've used in the past. gus
  13. Thanks Mike and Keith for the info. Here is the finished interior. gus
  14. From what I can see it looks really good. Only so much can be done with that kit OOB anyway. My only criticism is the way overscale radiator brace. Try replacing it with a piece of stiff wire. Welcome to the club house, gus
  15. Now that the Dart is done I can get back to this one. Interior is done except for steering wheel and package shelf ( which the locals here call the "back dash") Should the shifter handle be black or woodgrain? gus
  16. Man that is really nice! The mud and dust is just right. gus
  17. I've noticed that most OOB models sit higher than the real cars. May have to do with the thickness of plastic parts compared to the real thing and the fender clearance issues that come from this. gus
  18. Thanks for the tip Don. Will have to give it a try. gus
  19. Coming from someone with your skills, that is a real compliment. gus
  20. Thanks Rickey, I was a little doubtful about the white for awhile but it worked out in the end. gus
  21. Nice work and you picked a great kit to start off with. gus
  22. The decals came from the kit except the Hooker Headers and the "the Boss" graphic which came from the Revell 67 Charger 2n1 kit. The Isky cam logo came from an old sheet in my parts box. gus
  23. Finally got this one finished. Weather won't allow outdoor pics as usual so this is the best I can do for now. Things that were changed from OOB include: 1. resin valve covers from Speed City 2. carbs from AMT 60 Ford Starliner kit 3. intake bells from parts box 4. drilled out headers 5. removed brake vacuum booster 6. deleted windshield washer and wipers 7. added subframe connectors 8. removed muffler mounts from chassis 9. filled stock spring mounting holes I actually managed to get the bottom radiator hose on which is a first for me but gave up on the front shocks. Hope you aren't too tired of looking at it, gus
  24. That's a great Chevelle. It deserves an award. gus
  25. That is a beautiful Cuda. Nice work! gus
