  1. That is beautiful! Looks like a real car. gus
  2. Very good restoration and I like the tires and the driver too. gus
  3. Very, very nice work. The paint and underhood area look excellent. gus
  4. Very nice job and my comment in your WIP thread was not criticising your building skills at all. Even if you follow the directions for a new kit the horn would have been placed there. Excellent rebuild of a glue bomb. gus
  5. Wow! I thought that 36 Ford was real. gus
  6. Wow! That looks fantastic. gus
  7. Thanks Charlie and can you elaborate on the "black accents" as I can't find any pics of this particular interior scheme. gus
  8. Hey Niko, check my post in your WIP thread. gus
  9. Thanks for the input everyone and I'm going with the black/white interior. I am building these two concurrently and am doing engine work right now. What's up with the "tuning fork" wheel mounts on the Riv? I built many an AMT and MPC annual in my whippersnapper days and don't recall seing this before. Thinking of converting to metal axles but then I would have to drill a hole in the engine . gus Those wheels are straight from the kit. gus
  10. For a street rod I like the B&M shifter too. Nice work so far. gus
  11. Nice engine! It will twist the frame in that Deuce gus
  12. That is gorgeous Tom and ditto on the color choice. gus
  13. Hey Niko, nice work but that's not the wiper motor. That's a roadrunner "beep beep" horn that is left over from another kit that the sprues were originally made for. The instructions wrongly tell you to put it there. The real wiper motor is a small chrome piece that is between the shocks and air cleaner on the sprue. I have seen many, many AMT Mopars built with this mistake. gus
  14. I have been going back to this thread for days looking at your model and I must say that it is one of the best 61 Impala builds I have ever seen. Just shows what can really be done with this kit. Perfect color and the wheel choice is unique and fits it very well. gus
  15. Great job on a difficult kit to build. Your pics show how the proportions are a bit off on this kit but it's not your fault. gus

    72 Cutlass

Beautiful Cutlass Harold. Nice paint too. gus
  17. Very nice Chebby. gus
  18. This is one of the best threads ever-keep em coming. Just like looking at old magazines. Jose approves gus
  19. Started 2 new ones the other day. I'm not much of a Chevy man but all of the built models of the 66 Impala that I have seen look so good that I just have to build one. The color is Tamiya's beautiful light blue pearl. The next one is being built from an original kit that I got from a buddy in trade. It was unmolested and was only missing 2 stock wheels and the clear display base. I'm building it straight OOB and the pic is only a quick mockup of course. It too is painted with Tamiya spray. The chrome is starting to go but maybe I can replace the bumpers someday with some reissue ones. The fact that they have lost some luster doesn't bother me as they look more realistic that way but the chrome has partly rubbed off on the front one. Should I go with a white interior or red? gus
  20. I'm with ya on the chassis thing Dave. The overspray may be factory correct but it just doesn't look all that interesting on a model. gus
  21. That looks right on the money. Nice job! gus
  22. Sorry to hear that Harold and best of luck with getting things back together. gus
  23. Hey Ron, I love that Pyro Auburn. I built one of them when I was a kid and remember it being molded in a reddish brown sort of marbled looking plastic. Can you show us the sprues? gus
  24. I would prefer to stick with styrene myself, but that is a nice looking transkit. gus
  25. Yep, the wagons were really nice too Ed. gus
