I now have the 396 for the Chevy finished.
I used the same red wire that was used on the Buick engine but just painted it black. I had hesitated to do this on previous builds because I was afraid the paint would flake off when the wires were moved around. The paint stayed on just fine except where a little was rubbed off by my tweezers.
I have to give credit to AMT for molding brackets for all the belt driven accessories on the Buick engine. Revell didn't see fit to do this on a kit that was engineered almost thirty years later.
