Finally got the body foiled now that I don't have to do yard work every week.
And a sneak peek at a future project:
A Forty Ford of course in a classic oldscool paint scheme. Pumpkin with white engine compartment.

Thanks Cranky. The chassis is just different types of black paint. The main part is Testors flat black spray and the control arms, coil springs and radiator are brushed with semi gloss Acryl. The drive shaft is gunmetal.

I worked on the wheel covers and whitewalls today. The stock wheel covers look really nice with a wash and the whitewall decals are ok but they have some wrinkles in them that weren't there when I put them on last night. It could be due to the tires flexing during handling although I tired to be very careful with them. I used Micro Sol on them and sprayed the tires with Dullcote this morning. I don't like shiny tires.

It's been awhile since the last update but I have been slowly plugging away at it. The chassis is almost done. Still needs rear shocks and track bar.
The rear suspension required a lot of "adjusting" to get aligned and I still got the axle off center a little. Coil spring rear ends are one of the reasons I don't build many models of GM cars from the 60s. Give me good old straight leaf springs any day. The front also required some fiddling to get right as it is molded crooked and if you just use the locating pins as they are one wheel will be further forward than the other.
Thanks for looking

The guy that inspired me to build to a higher level when I was young was Don Emmons. Anybody remember him? He wrote modeling articles for Rod and Custom back in the 60s. His tips about kitbashing and using waxed thread for plug wires started me on the road to doing more "grown up" models. I was only about 8 yrs old at the time.

That looks really good! The two things that really jump out at me as seeming wrong are the chassis just looks toylike and the back bumper looks too big.
