  1. I never noticed that those Mercs had such huge peaks over the headlights. Hmmm, pre-customized. But they went and put the back bumper on the front. gus
  2. Yes, me want Pintos! gus
  3. Love your avatar Chuck. I work with several young people who say "huh?" when I spring the BR549 joke on them. I keep forgetting that they have never seen Hee Haw. gus
  4. When I was in my twenties I worked as a carb rebuilder and the shop owners flushed carb cleaner down the drain every day. You know, the kind that comes in a five gallon bucket and has a basket to dip the parts in. Very nasty stuff. But then, these guys were really behind the times. They took cash only and refused to work on any non-American car by telling the customer " we remember Pearl Harbor". This was during the 80s . gus
  5. This started many years ago when GM put Nova badges on an Isuzu. I was mortified at the time . gus
  6. Nice find Chuck. I love the box art. gus
  7. Great body of work curt. I love the drag cars. gus
  8. If you posted any pics I am unable to find them. I am already considering asking for a replacement body. gus
  9. Anybody get this kit yet? I got mine today and the body is not so good. The edges are paper thin and the rear wheel openings are pretty much ruined. In fact, the entire body is very thin and flexible with a strange surface texture that looks like it's full of tiny pits. The chrome plating is very thick also. The up side is that it is free of warpage. I know it's an old tool and I wasn't expecting perfection, but it's a long way from the Mongoose Duster that they released a few months ago. That one was very clean and flash free with very nice plating. The Vega is loaded with flash. I don't complain much about Revell kits as the recent releases have been excellent but this one is a disappointment. Any one else see these issues or did I just get a bum body. gus
  10. These two were started in 2011. Revell 66 Impala SS: Original AMT 66 Riviera:
  11. I like this one. You have shown that the old kit can still look good without too much work. I'll bet that thing would sound great with the straight pipes. gus
  12. I would say that you have passed the test. Love the Rattletrap and the Fast Eddie Cougar. More please . gus
  13. Merry Christmas to you too George. gus
  14. That looks very nice! gus
  15. Man, I am digging that drawer knob grille! That really takes me back. Did someone mention period correct? That is beautiful! gus
  16. Hi Dave, the wheels are from the 55 Chevy street machine that comes from the Badman tooling. They work well on this kit since they are 1/24. gus
  17. Thanks for the replies everyone. Next year is looking to be a GM year as I have a 69 Camaro, 66 SS 396, 58 Impala and 66 Riviera on the go already. gus
  18. Only got two car models built this year. Made a start on a couple more but won't finish another one this year due to my job. It was a Mopar year: gus
  19. One of the best builds of this kit that I have ever seen. gus
  20. Absolutely beautiful! gus
  21. Why do women have such a problem with this hobby? Nice truck by the way. gus
  22. Holy guacamole that's nice!! gus
  23. I hear you Walt. Why is it so hard for Revell to tool up new tires? It can't be more costly than creating new body molds can it? Tires and wheels are one of the most important elements of any hotrod or performance car. gus
  24. Nice looking engine. gus
  25. Odd color combo for the interior but it looks good. gus
