  1. Hey geetee, that is just a beautiful old school mild custom. One of the best classic kits ever. Too bad the molds are so worn. If I may offer one little suggestion it is that you have the tail lights on the wrong sides. If you look closely you will see that they angle toward the outside a bit. If you swap them side for side they will be in alignment with the fenders. This doesn't mean that I don't like your model. I think it is outstanding! Gus
  2. Those wheels used to come in the Johan Eddie Schartman Comet if my memory is right. Gus
  3. I never woulda thunk that it would work with the GTX body style but that looks great! Very outside the box idea. Gus
  4. I have found some tires and wheels that are more correct in size for the Mach 1. they are from a Testors die cast 71 Mustang kit that I have in the stash that I never built because as usual it has a 73 front bumper. The one on the right is an MRC Polyglas to show a size comparison. The Testors tire is the same width and just a tiny hair taller. The holes in the wheel backs are almost an exact fit but they will need to be moved inside the fenders a little to look right. Hope this is some help to someone as I have been looking for better wheels for this kit for awhile. Now it's time to start building that Revell Mach I. Gus
  5. Tires are an issue with a lot of newer kits. If they could do it well back in the day then they can certainly get it right today. Gus
  6. Well,I built it 3 times over the years. The first time was from the original boxing, second time was in the late 60s and I can't recall what the box art was but it was different. The third time was one with a lime green/gold custom version on the box top and would have been the early 70s. I also bought one during the early 90s but never built it and it had a stock blue truck on the box. gus
  7. I passed a black 60 El Camino today with bed rails and what looked like 18 inch wheels on it. First time I had seen it. gus
  8. Here's mine .From the Nash Bridges boxing of course. Gus
  9. It's very good paint- almost as good as Tamiya. I don't use primer at all and clear coat it with Testors laquer gloss coat. Here's a pic of my 68 Charger that was polished with Blue Magic metal polish. The clear was polished not the color. Hope this helps Gus
  10. I would like to see that article. gus
  11. I didn't know that but I do remember him coming to our local strip when I was a teenager and by then his car had a flip front end and a tunnel ram on it. Now that's the version that I want to model gus
  12. Now isn't this stuff better than useless videos? gus
  13. That is a great looking engine except for the overinflated alternator. But that's not your fault. The Revell alternators look much better. gus
  14. That looks great! Is that the Testors Inca gold? I have some that I want to use on the Ice T. gus
  15. I'm not liking the looks of those tires at all. They look like the old fashioned ribbed tires from the 50s. I say swap them for something better. gus
  16. I love this car and this model. Nothing wrong with posting it in both places. After all, it's a drag car and it's now "under glass". gus
  17. Just shows that both kits were scaled down correctly. gus
  18. I had the same thought when I built mine - not enough room. Won't be able to see much of it anyway. gus
  19. Man, that is a fantastic car. Just my personal opinion but I would have shortened the rear fenders. gus
  20. Great model and beautiful paint. gus
  21. Looks like it's right out of a Chevy ad from the 50s. gus
  22. You did a great job on that old kit. Love it! gus
  23. Beautiful Dart! I don't think those back tires will last long though . gus
  24. You picked another great subject. Can't wait to see more. gus
