Wow! That is just beautiful!!!! Only critique is the rust-through on the hood top. No way that could happen as water needs to collect where the rust-through happens. Rocker panels and running boards are more likely candidates. BUT, the rest is sooooo good and great details! I like it very much! Well done!

Okay, to those who wanted a shirt, I will be placing an order today with the printer. The design is approved as above and I am probably going to have only 10 shirts to sell via mail for those who cannot attend. If someone wants one and has not yet spoken up, do so TODAY via PM please! I am only doing 5 Large and 5 XL. However, if there are any extras left over from the show... those will be available too. AFTER THE SHOW of course but you will need to contact one of the other SABA members. Total through me $12 per which includes shipping to anywhere in the US via Parcel Post. (Got your order CB!) Hope this doesn't break any rules Gregg... if it has, I am very sorry.

Since big "G" is now a Mustang owner I decided to post a few ponys.
  4. FINALLY, you listen to me! Sheesh, I have been telling you to get one of those since you moved back. Although black would not have been my choice, it is beautiful.

Jason, I kind of felt it was a slight bit brighter than "Seafoam Green" which is a '50s color and not an available enamel paint color. Closest thing to whats available might be Model Master 50's Aqua #2942.

Never illustrated the front. Your guess is as good as mine I suppose. If I had to work one up it would be sort of like a Saberjet

I like the Black and White and ... .NO YOU DON'T! Playing around can also be called practicing. Very important to know how when the time comes to use those skills and you never know unless you try.

Very few Corvette's have I illustrated. But I like this one... Fairlane... yes!
  9. One of my fav cars and in a very un-traditional color. Cool!

    Hey Spyder!!!!

Well, if you don't look for updates in all sections of this forum then you miss a LOT! I read all sections including trucks and even most of Evilone's posts... lol. Heck, I love anything from Pinto to Lambo! The image started as a line drawing done in the style of George Lemmons and airbrushed in Photoshop. So yes, it is is digital and was printed in one of MCM's annual calendars. That is... back when we had calendars. Tho, I don't think it was intended to be aircooled. Although I loved the pancake 6, and field stripping the fuel pump with a bottle opener ended up being a piece of cake.... I prefer the much better design of a good 302 Ford small block. No offense, but the design is simpler and leaks oil a darned sight less!

Go for it, you don't need my permission to build any model! Only time permission is required is if you are going to reproduce the actual artwork.

I made the decision to go two colors. I think this makes the shirts more saleable than printing black on white so... here is the new design. SABA members... please give me your opinion because Dave Beach is... well, you know!

Guess Spyder didn't care for it.... oh well.

    Hey Spyder!!!!

The car I first drove was a 66 Corsa "Sprint". (Let you search out that one) So I have a soft spot in my heart for all things Corvair. Also love CARtoons Mag, and George Lemmons so this image was and is one of my favs.... Enjoy you pancake engine nut!

    T-shirt artwork

New updated image is now posted. I sent the art to a good friend Nelson Dewey. Nelson is one of the artists who worked for the now defunct CARtoons magazine starting in the mid 60's. For a number of years he worked for Hollywood doing "Storyboard" illustrations for movie writers and directors. Now retired and living in Phoenix Az, I sent him the art and he made a few suggestions that I believe only contribute to making this way better and beyond my meager talents. At any rate, I will have printed a dozen extra shirts for those persons who will not be attending but still want a shirt. Just PM me with your size request. Not sure of the price just yet....

John, well.... I had not considered selling shirts on-line. It is not my project, I am just the talent. However, I will pass on the idea to the powers that be and I am honored you want one. You are not the only one to request a shirt and not attend. Hmmmm, maybe I should have the printer do a run just for me?!?!?! I like it! Actually, I have received a few corrections from my artistic peers and the design will change slightly. Nothing big, just small stuff that will improve the look and illustion of speed mostly. Will post a new updated design tomorrow as I am beat tonight and need to sit in front of the tube and veg till bed. Thank you! J

  18. Honest opinions please....
  19. I would look at some of the posts in Tech and tips... Lots of great info there like this thread...."How to "Z" a frame"!
  20. I give it 5 thumbs up! (But I happen to know James is keeping some secrets to himself.... )
  21. Protrack is one of the biggest names in Drag front wheels. NCP is a easy to order warehouse for all sorts of slot car bits. Dependable if a bit slow. Avoid "Indoormotorsports", just an FYI.

  24. I got in after two tries and there were only 4 other people in there. I think the problem is in programing rather than numbers of "chatters". Keep trying is my only suggestion. :-)
