Casey, yes one surfboard. I purchased two kits for the two boards. Steve, knew if I made a declarative statement like that someone would find an example that was close..... yeah, they are probably suppose to be Halibrands but the wheel rim is too thick and the aformentioned raised edge around the openings says to me that those wheels will remain forever in my spares box....
-
Casey, Sorry for the crappy pic, couldn't get the lights close enough. The wheels measure about 11/16" od at the edge of rim. They fit these tires which are also in the AMT Camaro and Firebird kits. The wheels look bad to me and do not match anything in existance in 1:1. The surfboard scales out to a genric 7' long-board and is pretty nicely formed. Except for the Skeg which is not correct for the era. I used two of them for my Rat Wood where I made more correct skegs... No other accessories parts are included for diorama purposes.

... only if the people bother to read and understand the measures and candidates. Otherwise they vote for name recognition (if they vote at ALL)and go back to their toys and American Idol.

Ah, no Aaron, California still takes the prize. But OR is not far behind..... I was born and raised in Oregon. But unfortunately I recognize very little of my home state day by day. The crazies from good ol'Cali have have driven their beemers up here and bought McMansions with their millions. Now they are trying to make Oregon over in their own image. King Kulongoski is an idiot who is completely removed from the wishes and will of the people. He will not last another election. You think the car accessories problem is big? That is nothing compared to the Greenies who want to remove all the dams so the fish can spawn unfettered of the roadblocks "man" put into their way. Oh... yeah! The same greenies who want solar and wind to be our sole source of GREEN power.... WANT TO SPEND BILLIONS UPON BILLIONS OF TAX PAYERS MONEY TO REMOVE SOLID CONCRETE AND STONE DAMS WHICH PRODUCE HYDRO ELECTRIC POWER! You read that right! Hydro-electric power is the greenest and most renewable of all sources of electric power. Yet the Liberal Green party believes we should give it up for the FISH and depend on the wind and the sun. Oh.. by the way, it rains up here 45% of the year which means solar is worthless and flooding a distinct problem with out the dams for control. But at least we will have fish to eat.... Liberalism is indeed a mental disorder!

Paint for Lexan (Pactra I assume) is a Lacquer. You can apply it over Tamiya primer or over Plastikote primer but not enamels. Shot dry... on enamels you can slowly build it up but for a nice glossy flooded finish, you will only be left with wrinkles and lifted base coat. It is a lacquer pure and simple and should be treated as such.

.... with a boat tail of course!  (I gotta get some sleep...)

I guess I am with Chris on this being neither a lover or a hater... except I was never as boisterous or forward when I was your age. You have however shown great advancement in your skills Kevin. I am watching this one with interest.

Post an awesome music video

Nope. Your "OP" as you call it, will keep everyone interested in worthless nonsense while some politician steals you blind through your increased taxes. If it dosn't bother you then put on your rose colored glasses and play with your toys. I don't mind. But I understood that topics NOT model car related were strickly "verboten", ... or did something change? -

No offense taken D. I find those threads to be just as stupid and none-model related as any political post about the vast amount of PORK inserted in the latest Economic Stimulus bill currently put forth for the Senate to consider! However, if anyone is interested... check this out: $1 billion for Amtrak, which hasn’t earned a profit in four decades. $2 billion to help subsidize child care. $400 million for research into global warming. $2.4 billion for projects to demonstrate how carbon greenhouse gas can be safely removed from the atmosphere. $650 million for coupons to help consumers convert their TV sets from analog to digital, part of the digital TV conversion. $600 million to buy a new fleet of cars for federal employees and government departments. $75 million to fund programs to help people quit smoking. $21 million to re-sod the National Mall, which suffered heavy use during the Inauguration. $2.25 billion for national parks. This item has sparked calls for an investigation, because the chief lobbyist of the National Parks Association is the son of Rep. David R. Obey, D-Wisc. The $2,25 billion is about equal to the National Park Service’s entire annual budget. The Washington Times reports it is a threefold increase over what was originally proposed for parks in the stimulus bill. Obey is chairman of the House Appropriations Committee. $335 million for treatment and prevention of sexually transmitted diseases. $50 million for the National Endowment for the Arts. $4.19 billion to stave off foreclosures via the Neighborhood Stabilization Program. The bill allows nonprofits to compete with cities and states for $3.44 billion of the money, which means a substantial amount of it will be captured by ACORN, the controversial activist group currently under federal investigation for vote fraud. Another $750 million would be exclusively reserved for nonprofits such as ACORN – meaning cities and states are barred from receiving that money. Sen. David Vitter, R-La., charges the money could appear to be a “payoff†for the partisan political activities community groups in the last election cycle. $44 million to renovate the headquarters building of the Agriculture Department. $32 billion for a “smart electricity grid to minimize waste. $87 billion of Medicaid funds, to aid states. $53.4 billion for science facilities, high speed Internet, and miscellaneous energy and environmental programs. $13 billion to repair and weatherize public housing, help the homeless, repair foreclosed homes. $20 billion for quicker depreciation and write-offs for equipment. $10.3 billion for tax credits to help families defray the cost of college tuition. $20 billion over five years for an expanded food stamp program. Just more governmental spending of YOUR tax dollars! -

And how is any of this model car related? I was warned not to talk about politics, which effect everyone here... Music videos effect only those few who watch them and are definitely not model car related. -
Hey, no worries dudes! Found a set of 1/32 slot car wheels and tires that will work PERFECT for the front! Diameter is right on and the tires even have the correct tread and sidewall detail. PLUS... they are already chromed! I must have not have quite burned off all my karma yet!

CORRECT! Very good Dave. Hope all is well with you.

Tried to put up another slide for you guys of Bob's work.... but the scanner was going to have none of that! So, here is a neat build that Bob brought by my place couple of years ago. He wanted me to shoot it so it could be posted on one of the many forums he liked to frequent. Anyone know what he used as a basis for the body? No idea where this one went unfortunately, but the following model kit is currently listed on ebay. Click on the image to be taken to a list of this weeks items up for auction. As always, all proceeds go to the Bob Paeth estate.

Nice work and photography V!

Also, be-careful when re-assembling the airbrush. One concern is that sometimes the air-button leg has it's slot milled slightly off-center and will contact the needle causing drag. This requires the button to be replaced the same way each time. If it drags, remove the needle and rotate 180º, re-install needle. Then mark the button with an arrow so you know the correct re-assembly position. The second concern is the plastic handle and the fact that you are cleaning with Lacquer thinner. Make sure your fingers are dry before touching the handle or you will leave fingerprints permanently in the plastic.

Sorry guys... it has been a busy week with lots of demands on my time. Good idea, think I will take the afternoon off and work on the Midget. But first, have a bunch of ads to build and a map to draw for a brochure. Unfortunately between those beautiful reference pictures and Art Andersens suggestion that I use smaller diameter wheels.... I have been stymed. I have no such wheels nor approprate tires. Until I find them, this project is really just pissing in the wind.

The above image was on a slide from the Bob Paeth collection. The car was built and photographed by Mr. Paeth himself. Have about 30 slides of various images and will post some of the more interesting images here as the auctions are posted. Two items sold and shipped with 5 more current. Lots more coming later. If you want to know what else is going to be posted up on ebay... just check my Fotki here as I will add them to the Fotki prior to posting on ebay. Click on the picture to see what items are currently available on ebay. I must reiterate that I am receiving nothing from these auctions. All proceeds go to the Bob Paeth estate.
