Good job man! I like it, I know what you mean also about how long it is an if you go one more it will not fit on the cabinet. These rigs an trailers can get kinda long if your not watching (LOL).

Narrow push bar, would be the Tear Drop cb antenna, the wider push bar one would be one of the 3 cb antenna they used. The wider push bar cars came in later in the series when they started going here an there with different cb antenna's.

I make the General Lee parts, on the show they had 3 cb antenna's. The Tear Drop, the D900 (I think that's the name), an the Avanti one. I make the parts in 1/24-25 1/16-1/18 scale also. The decal guy you posted the link to does a very good job at making decals also, I use his decals on my General Lee model builds.

First off, guy's get over the General Lee an Dukes of Hazzard issue okay. You might as well just accept it.. an stop crying over it an trying to start issues on here when people post's about the show or the car model they want to build of it. LOL Okay now for the OP question, the kit will work if your just starting out an have not built a model car before, BUT it's not the most best kit for the job though. Like afew others have said, and I will agree with 100% on, get the Revell Charger (alot more parts then what the MPC one has though) as you will love that kit way more as it's way better detailed then the MPC one is. Plus if you want General Lee model items (for ex: cb antenna, cb unit, push bars, ect ect) that is correct in scale for your model build, PM me.

Things start coming together now

Here you can see that not much is left of the original kit mounting bracket for this side. The pass side one.

As you can see here one bracket has already been removed. New mounting bracket in the works (white piece) The top of the original kit piece mounting bracket.

With the rim on, to see on things look. I plan on redoing the two short lugs Just a mock up like, to see how things will look Up next is the rear suppen.

The leaft hangers/brackets I am scratch building an at times using the real kit pieces as part of the rebuild as I can. Here is one of two from hub units, I took an held the rein hub unit to the tire on the inside an used a small drill bit (two of them, one small one for marking, 2nd one the size of the lug base) to mark the locations of each stud. Then I drilled out the hub unit just alittle to set the lugs just a hair down inside then I place a layer of masking of the outer face of the rim an open the holes up by using the excto blade. I then place well brush on some vasoline then I took an placed the lugs into the rim on the out side looking in. I then used epoxy on the resin hub only on the outer side just where the lugs would be in. I then place the hub onto the outer face of the rim over the lugs an left set for almost a day. I took an drilled out the lug holes in the rim after I had removed the hub with the lugs in so the rim would be easier mounting off an on.

Now here I put the front doom lense in place for a mock up. The 2nd photo is with the light turn on. The led light here is only hold into place, it's not even attach to anything yet, it's not in the correct spot either. Here is the start of the first row of rear leafs in the making

Hi you all, well I been busy with this project. Jump mostly from working on the headliner to trying to get the suppenion in the rear together and also the front hubs anrims to built on. Still have work to do the stuff yet though. I been rebuilding well scratch building parts to like the model kit parts that broke on me or I had to chop apart. I been working on the first row of leaf hangers an brackets. First few times with headliners.. mostly trail runs.. This time it was a go. Started working with find the right blue color for on the rear doom lights covers.

That charger was a General Lee, I even knew the owner of the 2nd unit car of the car. This car was used on Smallville. Under the vinyl top was a General Lee roof with decals an all. Notice the car has a the 3 point roll bar in an 10 spoke victor rims? lol

Andy, they are not saying or implying that you do that stuff. But because you don't do any of that doesn't mean that there isn't other young people out there that "does" do it though. That is one of the reason's why the stores are doing what they are.
