Well I know it's been alittle while sense I did an update on this project. I been working at building this projects in units. I scratch built new leaf springs for in the front as well. Had a hood fitment issue also came up. I swear this project been fighting me sense almost day 1. The plastic isn't all that good either an the cab is almost a glue bomb anymore and had pieces replaced. The chrome on the grill was bad that when I put tape on it an went to pull the tape off the chrome came off with the tape!. So I used aluminum tape like BMF for on the grill. The top piece of the grill my friend wants me to make the same color as the truck so that's why I left the center area raw for. Plus I had to scratch build a new hood hanger as well an mounting bracket an pins. I also had to take an extend the front axle out afew hairs as well. The hood is just temp glued into place. -
Now here is the shell with the BMF mostly almost done.. I still had to detail the doors as well. Now the tail lights here is a chop job, I took some Revell ones an trimmed them down to fit inside the AMT tail light openings.. Yes I did BFM the tail lights also

Now jumping to a year later, here is the shell with the new Glow Paint from Wal-Mart. I also chopped the grill an did some work to it The Bare Metal Foil starts. The grill was cleaned up after this photo was taken.

Hi you all, well before starting this thread, I did in fact ask another model if it was okay with them as I have respect for others. I ask if they would mind if I posted my build in the same area. Our builds are of the same thing but yet different though. When I first bought this kit ( a year ago) I even had issues with the shelling even lowing orange, I set it dang nearlly on top of a lamp bulb for alittle while an yet it still hardly put off a orange glow. It was that weak in the glow, that I went out an bought some glow paint that would really glow. Then my local Wal-Mart started carrying the clear glow paint afew months back, so I pick so of that stuff up $5.00 a can. After I tested the color out, I loved it an went with it for on the project here. These was taken last year, the model was not clean.. After I applied the other green glow paint All the white trim you was all added by me to give the AMT model more detail.

Hi you all, well things kinda slowed down last week on this.. but is picking back up though. I'm not working in the front of the project. -
I'll have to check that out, thanks for the info! Your welcome also, No mine isn't complete yet, it belongs to my girlfriend. Keep watching my facebook for updates though.

The only glow paint my Wal-Mart sells is the color you see my model sprayed in. I wish they did sell the orange glow paint also. Also, thanks for the nice comment on my model also, yours is looking good so far as well.

Alittle trivia, the real car did glow with the certain glow paint they used, but the thing is the orange glow you all seen in the episode was all edited in orange glow effect though. The car interior is a chestnut brown color. But I know the kit I got, it didn't hardly glow at all, not even when place by or dang nearlly on a lamp for afew hours. The glow paint I used charges faster an glows way way way way better. Here is one folder of mine http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.2350046634876.252581.1361401210&type=3&l=f2a8985a78 that I am working on. the glow you see is the new glow paint I used on it. I still need to adde afew more light layers to it.

You'll need a black light to get it to glow really, The kit glow is very faint an can hardly be seen in the dark. I have one I'm working on as well, I used the glow in the dark spray paint that Wal Mart sells on mine though to get it to glow alot better.

Askly, that was my first idea I had, but my friend wanted the air bags to work. Shrink wrap wouldn't fold in like vinyl electric tape does, after noticing that, that was why I went with the tape for. But your idea was the very 1st I tried though. There is alot more detail to go into this project yet. It would be nice if this little rig could be turn key model an drive away with. -
Great build man, I love it, an I am also a mopar guy too. I think you did a great job on this build, an I would like to make a suggestion here if I could for on your next build. The decals that goes over the door edges an trunk lid, maybe you like to next time if your filling up to is maybe try to cut the seams open on the decals at the open area seams. Keep up the great work on model building man.

The rim. I took an looked at it. I wanted to give it alittle more detail so I started to add a valve stem by drilling into the rim from the other side. I used a cloth pin as the stem an glued it in place. I also took shorten down the leaf hanger that is close to the tire. -

Chunky Diamond Dust?
MoparWoman Jamie replied to Evil Appetite's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
1830M Diamond Dust is what I think he is talking about, if so then that is the very color I'm talking about, an if so yes that is a silverish gray color. -

Well reading what he said very carefully, he said or mention that he had a can last year same color do the same thing, "then" bought anew can of the same color just "last week" an had the same results like he did last year with the other can. So there is at least a year apart in the cans.
