Dukes of Hazzard what ifs . . .
MoparWoman Jamie replied to Greg Myers's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
They started in 1978 with the filming, aired it on tv in Jan 1979. They did start with the car being a 1968, in the 1st episode in Season 7 "Happy Birthday General Lee" explaining to folks how the duke boys got the General or came to have him. Waylon Jeggings the shows narrator refers at the junkyard scene when the boy's are looking at the charger. He says "That led the boys up to that old wreck of a '68 charger" . The car they pull out of the junkyard drive way is really a stunt car General Lee that had been jump an landed on the front end to hard. Because the Ditch scene an that scene damage doesn't line up at all, the driver door isn't even bent either on the car they are pulling with the tow truck. Now what if they had gone with the Camero like they was originally planing on doing. The car would have falling apart on the landings I think more worst. Could you just think of how many people would be upset over the Camero's? LOL. -

For your info, they was originally going to go with a Camero painted confederated gray with the flag on the hood not the roof. But they wanted something that was alittle more muscler.. an Gray on camera was alittle hard to see the color of also. -

Temp 1 at trying to install the first headliner.. At this point, I knew I made a mistake an used the wrong kind of glue.. oops. So I waited too the elmers glue had set up an dried an I then took an removed the headliner back out much easier an with no mess either from glue. I did make another temp on a 4th headliner an used spray glue which worked very very well.. I get photos today of that an post them soon as I can. -

Was there not real car stunts being done in Season 5? yes, that's is where my answer came for. Look at all the other season's before Season 5 stunt work an you will see Season 5 had some of the best done in it. But to clear things up though politely, I was not answering for the miniature stuff at all. But I do understand what you mean by my first sentence though in my original reply in this thread.

There will be another update tonight sometime.. recharging the camera battery. To those of you that had comment, thanks. I'm at a puzzle right now (making a choice) on the interior headliner part pattern. -
To be honest the best stunt work was done in Season 5 of the Dukes of Hazzard. But alittle fact, did you know that the scripts was already typed up for the characters Bo & Luke Duke? Yep. They just cross out the names was all an wrote in "Coy & Vance" duke was all. Coy above Bo's, Vance's above Luke's. They wouldn't let the two new guys Chris or Bryon do like Tom an John did though. They had them read from the script an say word for word I do belive. With John an Tom, they could take and inpervise the lines an twist them to make them work. WB wouldn't let C&V do this though. That's why the episodes seem abit strange for. Now if John an Tom did this.. the series would have looked like what happen in season 5 though. Bo an Luke walked off the set due to royalty issues from WB not giving them enough doe ray me on the Dukes of Hazzard items that WB was selling back then. If you watch the other season's an notice Rosco was missing, or Cooter or characters going missing was due to issues from WB also an the cast members not agreeing on things an working things out. But Season 5 was the odd season though for sure for the Dukes of Hazzard. Nea, they are still trying to put the Police academy back together after his last visit! LOL

Okay, I been working on the interior top roof panel.. Been building the working sun visors, plus working on the interior doom light plus the two rear interior lights that will sit behind the seats. For these lights i used off road light housings that I got at my local hobby shop out in town. They seem to turn out nice for the part. The doom light lense is a tail light lense for a truck I think. i had to do some triming down on it as well. The interior roof panel The visors middle support base The interior doom light lense, an test fitting for fitment -
