Hey Izzy, I had a good friend send me one and I think it is great, I have the Italieri one but this one has the opening doors which is even better and that is without counting the extra parts. I have Norm's Ferrari engine and I am thinking one day of attacking this project but for now I will be buying me another one of these, it is one of my favorite cars...........

Hey my friend, I like doing my panel lines this way, of course with all due respect to how the other guys have posted and given their recommendations. First I always deepen and scribe my lines on any model I start with. One thing to remember is that this is a very slow process because if you put too much pressure on the knife at the beginning of the process it will definetly run away from the line so you have to start applying very light pressure because later on you will be using the back part of the blade to finally scribe the amount of plastic you need to cut away. I like to go pretty deep to the point where you can start seeing the blade marks on the other side and then I even use a sharpie on the back side to be able to see the finished product, try it and as you can see by the photos it really works very good but again, you have to be patient with this process. You see, once you have a pretty deep scribed line on the model you will be able to put more pressure as you go for the simple fact that you have made a nice deep channel to follow. After this, I grab one of my Testors Metalizer paints and with a brush I start flowing paint into the scribed line. The Metalizers are perfect for this because they are very thin and watery paints and the capillary action will help you with the process. After this, I prime my body, I will add more paint into the lines and then I will start sanding my primer to get ready for painting. Sometimes I repeat this process at least 2 more times before adding my color coats. The good thing about this process is that you don't have to worry about your panel lines after you start painting, believe me, your paint will not cover them. As you can see by the pictures with the painted 57 Chevy, your lines will still look to scale after you are done. I have had people telling me that when they try it sometimes their lines come out a little too big but when I ask them why the usual response is that they hurried a little through the process. It is not for everyone but to me personally, panel lines are a must for any model because it is just the correct way of making that model look much more realistic. I have seen a lot of great paint jobs out there but to tell you the truth, I would rather be an amateur painter if I knew my panel lines looked good.

Originally I wanted this car a little lower but then after a little thinking I decided to go like this, kinda reminds me of the times I spent at the drag strip in the 70's and watching these cars running..........

Well my peeps, I am in the last stages of finishing this thing at last. Just need the little details now including the front and back bumpers. I love these MRC tires and rims, very realistic looking.............

One word, PRACTICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You will come along.........

Hey Milt, there comes a time that no matter how many times you clean them you will never get to the tough areas to completely do a neat job of removing the dust. The only way to go is enclosing them in cases or anything that keeps the dust away. The other problem you will have is the constant breaking of small parts every time you handle them for cleaning..........

Hey Greg, here is an idea that might put a few more pages on the model cars Magazine and I think everybody will love it. Seeing that the guys post their pictures of their models here in the forum why not pick some of the best ones and just put them in the next issues. You can dedicate a section on the magazine and title it "Forum Participation Pictures" or something like that. I think it will also rev up the participation on the forum even more. What do you and the guys here in the forum think?????

What camera should I buy?
cruz replied to novadose71's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I have the Sony Cybershot, 8.1 Meg. I think it is the perfect camera for your needs. I paid almost 300.00 but it is worth every penny. I also like the big screen and ease of use..............
