  1. Mockup time!!! Just playing around after putting the wheels and tires together, I love the intimidating look of this nostalgic monster!! Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki
  2. I finished painting the engine transmission with Testor's Metalizers Stainless Steel, gave it a little wash to finish it all up. Also, masked the gas tank and painted it aluminum. I am trying to use as many different metal colors as possible to give the chassis some contrast! Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Also added a bit of weathering on the chassis using pastels and washes....
  3. Very creative and original, I love it!!!
  4. Thanks Mark! For the engine color, I had a bottle of Pacific Blue paint from Model Master and added a bit of white to match the color of the Pontiac engine, I didn't have any Pontiac engine blue paint in my stash.
  5. To me, it's the other way around, once I discovered all the advantages of an airbrush, my rattlecan blues were gone.....
  6. Thank you for the replies fellas! As for the fuel lines, these come with the kit!
  7. A bit of work on the engine, not a lot of parts but it does look pretty complete. Made it a little dirty to give it some character and contrast. I still have to paint the transmission but I like to leave it like this until I install all the parts on the engine, keeps my fingers away and makes for a cleaner build. 8. Thanks Jay, it's funny you asked this. The primer is also from scalefinishes but you can use any other red oxide primer for this if you so desire. I must say though, the gentleman from scalefinishes sent me a free bottle of this primer, when he mixed up the Bristol Blue the first time, he told me it was not correct therefore I had to wait another day for him to send it. I told him that I was not in a rush to get the paint but he still offered me the free primer for his mistake. I didn't see it as a mistake but anyway, thanks Scalefinishes!!! If you have a chance to do business with him, please do so!!
  9. Pictures are better than words, this is a Cobra that a friend of mine purchased, it was an old original kit and the chrome was pretty bad, he told me to Alclad the parts for him and these are the results. Everything chrome is Alclad..... Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki
  10. You are always an inspiration to all of us my friend, God bless you!!!
  11. I'm liking this a lot, very cool man!!
  12. I have never used the aerosol for Spaz or Alclad but you can't beat the control you have with an airbrush vs the aerosol, specially for this application.
  13. I have used both of them and I get good results, they are both pretty good products. I do prefer Alclad though.
  14. Very cool, looks like you put a lot of work in that thing!!
  15. Really digging the Caprice wagon bro, Modelhaus really has some neat stuff!
  16. Truly great work as usual Tom!
  17. Chassis taking shape...... Hosted on Fotki
  18. Great to have you and welcome to the forum!!!!
  19. I agree with Romell, this is one of the kits I will be putting together this summer and already have a nice shade of green for it that I bought from Scalefinishes. I have always loved the body style of this car....
  20. Had some questions about the colors to use on the chassis but they were all answered by some of the guys here and specially by my good friend Bill Geary. I will be posting the pictures of the painted chassis soon together with some other little details as I go so please wish me luck.......
  21. After scuffing up the body and rescribing my panel lines, I decided to add a little piece of molding strip to the rear of the car, the upper one was okay but the bottom one didn't show up too well which means that I would have some issues after painting it and ultimately adding the BMF. I just purchased some plastruct strips and used a small piece to fix the problem. Hosted on Fotki Here is a photo of the real one for reference purposes...... Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki It's still a bit too thick but I will be sanding it down to match the upper one. I am also starting to paint the parts and also clean up some mold line issues around some parts, it's always a little tediuos but at the end it's all worth it.... Hosted on Fotki Also added some color to the engine block, I will be adding distributor wires and other little details to it later. Painted the exhaust manifolds with Testor's Stainless Steel metalizer first and then just sprayed a light coat of Burnt Iron on top to give it a little bit of a used and burnt look. 22. Okay fellas! I decided on my next build, the '62 Arnie Beswick Catalina, looks like a great kit so I'm going for it! Hosted on Fotki I have purchased Norm's (Replicas and Miniatures Company of Maryland) correct resin hood along with Scale Finishes Bristol Blue paint and the Model Car Garage '62 Catalina Detail Set so I am content and ready.
