  1. Love it bro!!!
  2. This is truly awesome Virgil! Thanks for sharing, I am sure you enjoyed it a lot!!!
  3. Thanks Ed! I like to scribe all my lines nice and deep before painting my models. I like to use Testor's Metalizer paints to achieve this, I dab some of the paint into the scribed lines and since the Metalizers are so thin and watery, capillary action helps out a lot. I do this before and after priming. After this, I just go ahead and paint the car and that's it, the sprayed or airbrushed paint just stays away from the lines. If it's a white or light colored car, I will dab some watered down acrylic, waterbased paint in the panel lines after painting the car, light colors are a little more difficult to work with than darker ones of course. You want to make sure to use a water based paint, I am sure you will not want to ruin an otherwise nice paint job. Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki
  4. I too prefer the notchback than the fast, you did a terrific job on this one! Looks like you used the Pegasus sleeves with those rims??
  5. I own 2 Badger Crescendo airbrushes, love them so much I don't even worry about owning anything else. The first one I purchased has been with me for 15 years now and I have never had to change any parts on it. I have a backup with the other one which I purchased from Michael's using the 40% off coupon, got a great price on it!
  6. Thanks guys! Yes, that is red primer on the chassis floorboard, also from Scalefinishes.
  7. I think I might just make a trip down there this year and share with some of you fellas!!!
  8. Look at the Under Glass section of the forum for my completed Pontiac....... Thank you!!!!
  9. Very cool!!!
  10. I just saw this beauty on the Scale Auto Magazine Bob and of course, I must say it's just gorgeous!!!
  11. Thanks Kevin, I really appreciate your input as well as everybody elses! For that side/rear BMF, I had to be careful when doing it, had to use a sanding stick to work around the top edge without ruining the paint. Pictures below will tell the story..... 13. That is suppose to be Pontiac Bristol Blue from Scalefinishes but, before I make a mistake and belittle my friends at Scalefinishes, it was my fault that it didn't turn out the shade I wanted, I absolutely love the paint, so thank you Scalefinishes, I will be doing more business with you guys. Yes, this is the AMT kit, I have a WIP thread on this build under the "workbench" section and will be adding a few more photos later. I think it's a great kit and I am very happy how it turned out. By the way Dave, thanks but I should be getting some pointers from you man, what the heck are you talking about....

  15. Decided not to go with the Passionate Poncho, didn't turn out the shade of blue I wanted but I still like to think that Arnie would have been happy with this one anyway..... Hope you guys like it too. Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki
  16. Looks awesome bro!
  17. I use Maguiar's cleaner wax after placing my BMF, works great and gives it that extra shine and reflectivity. Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki

  21. Thank you guys, your replies are always appreciated!! You apply it in much the same way you do flocking, or at least as most people do which is with Elmer's Glue. I water it down a little and apply it liberally (the glue) with a brush. What I like the most is that you don't see it flying all over the place like you do flocking once you dump it over the glue, looks more to scale and you can paint it any color you want. In this case, I was lucky to find it in that shade of blue. Just make sure to let the weight of the embossing powder do all the work, the more you dump, the better it will look, no need to push down to get coverage. I leave it on there for at least 6 to 8 minutes, turn it upside down and take the excess off by tapping it from the back of the interior tub or in this case, the chassis.
  22. Like I said before my compatriot! This is gorgeous, the colors do go very well together, terrific job on that paint!!!
  23. Gorgeous, what paint/clear did you use?
  24. Looking good, love the engine already!
  25. Did a bit more work this weekend, installed the key and keychain in the dash, sanded down the stickshift and took some thickness off and also removed the mold line that it had, at the end it was Alcladed, I will be painting the little ball at the top white. Also, used embossing powder to replicate the carpeting. Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki
