There is no rush to finish anything - just take your time and it will work out. Think of all you have already put into this model. Try getting another build going at the same time and work on this one when the mood is right. Keep on working though!

Pretty basic curbside kit. Take a look at Japanese nostalgic sites to get some ideas - or just build it the way you think is cool.

Orange looks really nice - I would paint some of the trim around windows to give a more finished look. Where did you get the paint?

Hey Jake - I think you can get that a little lower - I could slide a hair under it still. Nice work on the frame modifications!

Note to self - "watch out for Mopar fans"... Started to carve out a manifold similar to the one on the reference vehicle. Started with a block of styrene, laid out general shape, and started filing and sanding! Not quite there yet... I had to cut the original in half to reset the "offset" of the left and right sides - as I sanded down from the original marks, they came out symmetrical.

From High School Jewelry class! Usually used with metal and called "lost master" or something because you melt the master out of the mold. I don't do that - I just use it because it's relatively easy to carve and smooth then cast in resin. Wheels are finished - Model Master Magnesium wheels and Alclad chrome on the the caps. Body painted (Tamiya Racing White TS-7) and starting to foil. Rear bumper is Alclad Chrome:

The December issue (155) is available now. I just bought one last week. It's a great issue. -
Mike - Going to look sweet with the steelies. Here's a fun link to youtube showing a 64 330 426 max wedge racing a 2007 Mustang GT - really not a fair race, but fun to see one in action. Love the sound at the first burnout. I just noticed the guy in the Mustang is named Erik - not me though.

For some reason "food stuff" came to my mind when I saw the colors too. Looks great so far - I like the color choices, not your every day sight. Thanks for posting!

Second that. If I didn't buy another kit starting...NOW...I would be set for about 100 years at my current pace. So, take your time Revell (although I will buy one when they come out). Come to think of it, will there be a need to stash kits in 100 years?

John - this is a really great build. I can't believe your tackling it twice - I get burned out after one build and couldn't think of starting over again! Really like all metal surfaces on the engines - nice, smooth, and realistic. I have been looking over your spot in MCM 154, nice to put a face to the models! I appreciate the time you take to post on this forum - thanks!

I don't usually build in this scale - it was just an idea that popped into my head so i went with it! 1/32 isn't that much smaller than 1/25 in photographs! Engine complete - minus air cleaner: Pulleys and generator are from another 1/32 kit - I cut them apart and used styrene strips for the new configuration and belts. Fan is cut from brass and bent to shape. Distibutor and oil filter scratchbuilt. Intake manifold is a modified airplane part. Carb is scratchbuilt. Interior - these kits are really pretty toyish but it came out okay - dash is separate and attaches to body.

Another WIP on my bench. Kit is Lindberg's 1964 Dodge 330 - the classic sleeper car. I am attempting to build a fuel injected, aluminium, 588-inch Indy Max Legend Hemi mated to a 5 speed Jerico transmission. The engine idea came from an article in Mopar Action April 2011 issue - it sits in a 205 mph+ 71 Hemi Daytona. Mine will be more of a scary to drive street car/sleeper look. I will be making it a light weight version, as best I can, with aluminim fenders, front bumper, and doors. This is the reason I like making models - if you were lucky enough to own a real 64 super stock, I don't think you'd want to change much! Slightly tubbed out the rear to fit some wide tires - will run steelies and dog dish caps: Here is a mock up of the engine - valve covers are modified from one of Revell's recent hemi funny cars, block is from 68 Dart Hemi, transmission and bellhousing are scratch built:

More little stuff - you realize how many parts go into a kit when you have to make them yourself. Exhaust manifold - carved from sytrene: and here is the engine getting closer to complete: Here is the Bluebird sitting next to 1/25 49 Ford: I opened up the grill and hood vents - delicate going in small scale: Thanks for looking!

For some reason I got the idea to take one of Arii's 1/32 scale kits and add an engine. The kit is a 1960 Nissan Bluebird 1000. I had limited research materials to go by so some of the details might be from 61 models, but it's as close as I wanted. So, here is the project... Removed hood, removed molded in engine "pan", and scratch built the engine bay: Engine started as a Mini block - I cut and sanded it down to approximate size. Oil pan is shaped styrene and valve cover is heavily modified from the Mini kit (sanded down, added flange and recessed bolt access areas). Transmission in the picture is wax - I carved out the basic shape, cast a resin piece, and added details: More pictures coming...

This is a really cool custom. I like the old school feel of the rear hatch and the modern side profile and wheels. It looks great.

You know what would be cool - a thread just for aftermarket suppliers. Users could post photos of items they order and just put the item # and description in the heading. That way if I wanted to see a picture of RMoMD item #...I could do a search and, blam, there it is! -
I like that color choice - red interior will look splendid. I was thinking the black you were originally planning would go well with that color, but red will really stand out.

Cool. I had no idea. Thanks for the build and post.

Cool project and very well excuted. Diymirage- the number 5 is on the car behind the reference vehicle.

Nice. Beautiful paint. Why is it just for moms, though? I'd go get groceries in that.

Nice - I like the CF hood and trunk lid. What do you clear over the CF decal?
