An interesting memory
disabled modeler replied to Terry Jessee's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Hi Terry, it would be nice to see reissues of the old school rods, the last few have seemed to been changed or newized of sort and just dont have the luster of the early kits of hot rods. the best reissue i can think of lately is the monogram big t , my brother got one and built it box stock....really nice kit.......mark -
Has anyone?
disabled modeler replied to Jared Roach's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I had one of these kits i built years ago.....i didnt think it was too bad, the parts fit good enough and looked pretty good once assembled....very fair amount of detail to it. mark -
Hi Emily, VERY NICE!!!! you have done an excellent job on the mustang! and being your first build cant hardly wait to see the next one..........very impressive work! mark

Super Clean ?
disabled modeler replied to Trans Am Erik's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Hi tans am erik, ive used super clean degreaser for years, i have a nice tupperware tub with lid i dip the models into to soak. i use disposable latex rubber gloves to protect my hands. i dont dilute the cleaner at all, after cleaning you may want to wash with some soap.....just be sure it dosent have any hand protectant in the soap....it could cause oil type paint problems. the gloves i use are the same ones the doctors use and can be purchased almost anywhere.....medical supply company, home depot, walmart, ect. ..........mark -
Round 2 at My Model Car Storage
disabled modeler replied to Lyn's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Hi Lyn, so you built the chevy blazer kit.......not a bad model ether, see you are a modeler like the rest of us. when i started building it took me a while to figure out that it didnt take much glue,i have some of them and i dont think you could get them apart with dynamite..........now i know its not one tube of glue per kit. it snowed here last night....want some? ill put it in a baggie and send you some? id ask Marshal but i know he dont want any......Ed dosent want any ether......what am i going to do with it all? ........I know......take a fan and point it this way , turn it on high......think it will work? i think i got my model of a 71/72 olds toronado from you....it was blue. that was the first real car i owned....i got lucky...my brother helped me out with it....sort of a early Christmas present . i had wanted to find one for quite some time. hes now got me looking for some for him....have a great day!!! thanks, god bless. mark -
Round 2 at My Model Car Storage
disabled modeler replied to Lyn's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
My first real car was a 1972 oldsmoblie toronado, it was a pretty nice car for $400.00............man did that thing run, i was always needing to put front tires on it though......wonder why? it would smoke the tires for a block maybe? thing had beautiful interior.....power everything! car got scraped after i went sideways down a riven at high speed.....yes i was dumb and young. the one i miss the most i had was a 1975 pace car trans am i got for $800.00 , we rebuilt the engine and beefed it up.....wow! it would eat up corvettes like they were nothing.....got busted by lady state trooper out of state, she had me clocked at 157mph in a 55 zone....take my advise! the fine is a very large one and they tend to frown on such actions on their highways in MO. i sold the car the next week.....mark -

Marshal, it very hard to try not to get my hopes up too much for one, i love the johans and hearses. i dont have a whole hearse now just some of the parts to it.....where they went to is anyones guess? mine is missing ......entire body assembly, glass,hood,gate,bumpers,head/taillights,landau bars, wheel covers.....not much to go on but its too cool of a kit to give-up on.....besides it would be cool to use in a diorama....parked at the gas station getting serviced maybe? mark
-
Marshal, you to. cool car! i had a friend tell me his neighbor thinks he still has a model of an old cadillac hearse in his attic...........i hope he still does,be great to have one thats in not too bad shape. the only cadillac hearse kit i remember is the johan, and i love the johan models......wish someone would reissue them. mark

That thing is just too cool!!!!! i dont usually care for planes.......but thats cool! let me guess the propeller spinning look was made by clear plastic and a compass to scribe the spin look? i never thought of it before i seen the wicked surf plane ....too cool. mark
