  1. Chris.... I have an old Johan 59 Cadillac 4 door model rebuilder that is decent...needs a few parts though.
  2. Joseph.... I have only had one issue using it on glass parts....but its ok as long as you do not let it dry on any part of it like I did once. Just make sure its submerged completely at all times while soaking....then after cleaning it wash it off with soap from your hands and rinse with warm water. Keep in mind the cleaner is rough on your hands. I am just guessing your wanting to know how it will react with normal kit plastic glass..?
  3. Id love to find a promo or kit of a 72 Toronado.....it was my first real car I ever owned...she was green with tan top and interior it was a great car. 71 and 72s are close to each other in shape and style with small differences.
  4. Thanks for the memories Steve.....now were talking..! I love this kind of stuff...!...shame they had to give up. I have an old Auto World catalog look through it once in awhile.
  5. I am a huge fan of the Johan kits and promos....loved the subject matter they offered. Shame there gone now....Id like to find some more someday myself and re-visit some of my much younger happier years.
  6. I like it Ray....nice build. I am going to have to get me one of those now....LOL...
  7. Very nice builds for both....makes me wish I could have gotten one when they were out last...very nice clean builds gents.
  8. Oh...Very nice...! I love the brass spring set up. Id love to get my hands on one of these kits just to see how much detail i could add to one...LOL..
  9. David...We all go through building slumps at times...there is nothing wrong with a build taking a long time to complete or having to take a break from it for awhile. Some times Ill get something out of my norm to build that is easy to help get me out of the slump. My main reason for builders slump is lack of needed parts for the ones I need to restore...cant go too far on them without them. Everyone has a different building style and likes...its what makes everyone's builds or work unique and that is a good thing.
  10. I really like this Dave.....very very cool project. I have wanted to do the same to these Dodge pickups for some time now...like you mine would be a 2wd version probably a 3/4 ton. Cant hardly wait to see it done.
  11. Welcome Tony..! I started building with my dad too....great memories of those days. Now I have his old ones to needing repairs and parts...have a few done but not many yet. Glad your family is into building and your coming back to it...its a great way to pass the time.
  12. No one did I know of but id still like to see them done for us. Normatt made a 1/20th ish Motorhome many years ago with not much detail or parts its kind of like a promo type toyish thing but still cool...I had one as a kid once. Id just like to see some 6x6 type trucks in 1/25th scale...too many cool ones are only in the smaller scales...bummer.
  13. I wish these kits came with a trailer for them....I like these boat kits of the 50s-70s era.
  14. Id love to see these in 1/25th scale... MPC Ford Econoline van...full detail with opening doors, etc. would be cool...even would take a snap kit of it if its realistic looking. Military 6x6 truck or 2 1/2 ton truck. Monograms 1980 Pontiac Trans Am 1/8th scale...Id be happy with it in the scale it is. Linberg small scale 70s car series kit in 1/25th would be nice...Grand Prix, etc. Any 75 Firebird TA kit in 1/25th scale...full detail or snap. Normatt Winnebago motorhome in 1/25th scale.
  15. Welcome Brian ...! Glad your here with us all.
  16. Everyone would have perfect health. All the old parts I need would just show up...LOL. all the old models/promos I want would be reissued. Id have money..at least a little...LOL..
  17. Just had a great trade with Casey....just one of several we have done and its always a pleasure to trade with him.
  18. Very cool build...! Many years ago I owned a early 70s Dodge factory custom van...hoping to find what I need to make a replica of it someday. You captured the feel of the old custom vans well.
  19. Absolutely STUNNING..! Beautiful clean build and paintwork is AWESOME...!
  20. Welcome Christopher...! Sounds like you know what you really want to do...Id like to learn to cast bodies, hoods, etc. correctly someday so I can build more than one of my creations I come up with...LOL.. 60s/70s body style ones.
  21. I will keep you in my prayers on the surgery but they are very good at it anymore as said. WOW...this would be a very tough choice for me...I just cant narrow it down to just one but it would be one of these.... 68,69 Bonneville 69,70 Grand Prix 75 Firebird TA 66 Chrysler 300 HT Monogram (Uni-Real Roller)had one as a kid many years ago.
  22. Jamie...Welcome..! You are a awesome wife hes lucky to have you. I hope you both nothing but the best. Good advise here from all the group....me I just use spray can paints and bottle or brush paints on mine. Good things to have are... You already probably have these but they also are great for building...fingernail emery boards...I use them all the time. Small plastic spring clamps for holding things. Tweezers. A modeling tool called a Sprue cutter...looks like a small pair of pliers but for cutting plastic parts. A good work light maybe one even with a magnifier lens in it. If you have any other questions please feel free to ask...were all glad to be of any help.
