  1. This is my '56 F100 built as a daily driver with a 426 Hemi/4-speed combo, tilt steering wheel, '06 Mustang GT wheels and tires. Painted with Tamiya TS-19 Metallic Blue paint.
  2. Thanks Charlie! I really didn't go anywhere...just got moved to the Trucks section. How was your cousin's wedding? Monty, I am familiar with Scale Equipment Limited and their line of wheels. I just don't want to go and buy a set of wheels when I can use the kit supplied wheels. I was just questioning if the wheels seem "flat" or shallow. I have purchased SEL wheels in the past and they are great products.
  3. Thanks guys! John, Raoul is correct. Carousel Red is the same as Hugger Orange. I have the engine assembled and almost ready for a coat of Pontiac Engine Blue. I must first deal with the joint seam on the bottom of the engine. The wheels are headed for the purple pond for chrome stripping. Is it me or do these wheels look kind of "flat" or shallow? Here Comes Da Judge...
  4. Thanks Christopher! This morning brought the '56 a long way towards completion! The cab and bed are joined with the chassis. I removed the exhaust since I didn't like the way it was hanging from the frame. I'll add some tips made from aluminium tubing and polished to a nice shine. All that is left are the bumpers, vent windows, taillights, touchups, and final detailing. More to come...
  5. It is unfortunate that mere mortals like us cannot afford these wonderful cars today. The collectors and speculators have driven the price of these cars so far into the stratosphere today that even rusted out hulks are commanding big money. I had a '70 Duster 340 from '74 to '76 and it was a money pit. It was a fun car to drive, but still a money pit! I traded it for a '76 Dodge D100 pickup...my first brand new vehicle!
  6. Having my fill of pickup trucks for the time being, I am going back to what I like building the best...muscle cars! But, this time I am not building a Mopar or a Ford, but another GM product...a '69 Pontiac GTO Judge! I have liked GTOs from a distance and when the Judge was introduced, I thought...WOW! What a great looking car! 400 cubes, 4-speed trans, orange paint with reasonable graphics, ram air hood, hood mounted tach...awesome car! I bought this kit earlier this year and I have been staring at it sitting in my stash. I have decided to build it! My paint is Model Master Hugger Orange No. 28108. Instead of More To Come..., how about Here Comes Da Judge...
  7. After I mounted the wheels and tires, I did a mockup to check the stance and ride height...perfect for a daily driver! I foiled the ribs on the bed. I'll polish the paint and then clearcoat the bed. I temporarily mounted the grille to see if I should paint the area behind it. That is a yes! More to come...
  8. Thanks Carl! Progress has been slow lately, but I am trying to "git-r-dun"!
  9. For the most part, the dash is done. I just need to install the tach somewhere. The seat, shifter, and gas tank are installed. I was originally going with a blue and white interior, but I had issues with my masking of the seat. After cleaning up the seat as best as I could, I gave it a light coat of Tamiya TS-19 Metallic Blue and the result is a tu-tone effect that I really like. The Hemi is finally completed and installed into the chassis. I'll install the exhaust system next after some cleanup of moldlines and custom shaping to line up with the Hemi exhaust manifolds. I probably should have used the Hemi headers instead of the manifolds. More to come...
  10. As a youngster, I remember playing with the antenna rotor until I burned out the motor. Opps! I never told Dad (RIP) that I caused the burnout. I didn't want to make the Ol' Sarge mad as I would have been beaten within an inch of my life! Ahh, the good old days!
  11. Thanks Johann! You are correct that the texture on the valve cover is for the flat black finish, but I wanted a chrome valve cover for this Hemi and these were all I had in the parts box.
  12. I did a quick mockup to see how everything was fitting. I painted the floor with Model Master Wood. This will be coated with gloss clear and BMF'd later. The brake rotors have been attached to the wheels. The Hemi at home. When I did the mockup, I notice that the front axle was slightly warped. I removed it from the springs and tried to twist it slightly in the opposite direction and the fragile plastic broke right in the center. I have a new axle coming from a fellow Classic Plastic Model Club member. More to come...
  13. Thanks Brian! I was somewhat surprised to see it myself! But, then if I didn't return a reply, it would show that I am not grateful.
  14. Thank you Danno! Finally...a few minutes to myself without any interruptions tonight. I started the chassis assembly by installing the front and rear suspensions. I still need to add the front and rear shocks. I found a steering wheel in my parts box and made a tilt wheel out of it. This driver will be comfortable! Still rummaging through the parts box, I found a set of '06 Mustang disc brakes. This '56 will stop on a dime! I was able to get the distributor wired and glued to the Hemi, but I still need to run the wires and set up the ignition coil. More to come...
  15. Thank you Mike!
  16. Thanks Joe! I'm still picking away at this thing. Hopefully, I 'll have some progress to show soon.
  17. I have enjoyed Overhaulin' from the beginning, but I found Courtney's voice to be a bit irritating after awhile. AJ on the other hand, is far prettier than Courtney, but she is an model/actress and is not that knowledgeable about cars. I am not familiar with Jessi, so time will tell if I will like her or not. Chris Jacobs has been jumping around, going from one entertainment show to another since Overhaulin' ended in '08, and is currently on Entertainment Tonight. I am looking forward to the new season of Overhaulin' on October 2nd!
  18. I knew there was a reason why I liked you, Jim! Thanks John! I do love Tamiya paints! I don't like the price, but the paint is fantastic!
  19. The reality is Revell will not tool up a whole new kit when they have a perfectly good model kit tooling on the shelf. They will tool new wheels and maybe new tires and suspension pieces along any other specific parts to satisfy Chip's requirements. Beyond that, it will be the same kit that is available now. CAD/CAM and CNC machining costs money and Revell needs a good business plan before they invest the money and go ahead with new tooling and packaging for the Foose kits. Not only that, but Chip will want his piece of the pie before the product hits the shelf with his name on it. These kits are a marketing tool with new episodes of Overhaulin' coming in October and older episodes running on Velocity Channel right now.
  20. Thanks Jim and Carl! Hey Jim, don't let anyone tell otherwise...Shiny rules!!!
  21. Thanks Brian, Shane, and Mike! Ahh...the joy of paint! Tamiya TS-19 Metallic Blue. More to come...
  22. Thanks Darrick! I lost interest in this build a couple of months ago when it seemed that everything I tried to work on this build, went south on me. I am regaining some interest in this build again, even though I won't be able to finish it for the Classic Plastic Show on September 16. I have other trucks that I can use for the Club Challenge instead.
  23. I used the embossing powder that I bought at Michael's for carpet on this F100. I applied it with white glue and painted it with Tamiya TS-19 Metallic Blue. I think it came out great! I just couldn't bring myself to open the MRC Cragar SS wheel and tire set, so I am going back to my original plan of using the '06 Mustang GT wheels and tires. More to come...
