  1. I couldn't begin to tell you why the exhaust header layout is as it is. That system is the only one in the kit. The header design could be a racing header, but I couldn't find any information on it during my research. The 3.7 L engine and the exhaust system has been installed into the chassis.
  2. I got the DB4 body and parts into a coat of grey primer. I still have some work to do here. I finally finished wiring the 3.7 L Straight Six engine. More to come...
  3. I washed the DB4 this morning in preparation for primer and paint! More to come...
  4. The Story The Tina Leavitt Murder Investigation was becoming as cold as the weather outside. McNally was acting in a very, very professional manner, especially around Attorney Wilmot Jackson like he was walking on eggshells. It was time to shake this Investigation loose and find Tina's murderer. The best way to draw someone out of the woodwork was to annoy somebody. He has to be very careful annoying someone so he can obtain the evidence necessary for a conviction. Since he has been working other cases, he has been away from Boston Police Headquarters for about a month, so he'll stop there and talk with Lt. Det. Adam Troy for the latest information. But, Adam doesn't have anything new for McNally to go on. The case has gone cold as the weather outside and Det. Darvell doesn't seem to be getting anywhere. Adam calls Det. Darvell into his office for any new information on the case and Darvell says he hasn't been able to find anything new on the case. Everytime Darvell visits with Damian, his attorney is there. McNally asks why is Damian's attorney always there. Darvell explains that whenever he wants to talk to Damian, he has to make an appointment to see him by order of his attorney, Wilmot Jackson, which he does. But, Damian was cleared as a suspect months ago, so why the special treatment? McNally says that making an appointment will give Attorney Jackson time to be at Damian's house for questioning and all questions are not answered by Damian. His attorney blocks them all! The Build I decided to add the body to the chassis and interior to get a good idea of my progression. The suspension lift and the Pegasus wheels look great! McNally will return...
  5. The Story The following morning finds the Boston PI sprinting up the stairs to Lt. Det. Troy’s office on the 4th Floor of Boston Police Headquarters. He approaches Adam’s officeand sees Capt. Frank Bladen in the office with him. Adam sees McNally approaching the office and waves him in. He is introduced to Capt. David Bladen, the head of the Homicide Unit. McNally asks if he can see the Homicide file on Tina Leavitt's murder and Capt. Bladen asks what is his involvement on this case. McNally explains how Damian Williston hired Attorney Rothmann as his divorce lawyer and a day later, his personal attorney wanted them dismissed and their wanting to find the killer of Tina. Capt. Bladen, satisfied with McNally's explaination, grants access to the BPD File on the murder of Tina Leavitt. Capt. Leavitt shakes McNally's hand and says goodbye and leaves Lt. Troy's office. Adam says to McNally, "He told me that he wasn't going to like you." "Must be my winning personality and charm," replies the Boston PI. The Build I added the tow hooks and the wheels to the chassis. I'm still thinking on how to finish the exhaust system. I finished the interior with decals and side panels and a mockup of the chassis and interior. I really like the raised suspension I created! McNally will return...
  6. The Story That evening, Attorney Charlotte Rothmann arrives at Damian's home and rings the doorbell. He opens the door and looks surprised to see Charlie. Allowed inside, Charlie then asks what is going on with him. Why was he allowing Attorney Jackson to make demands upon her and McNally? Damian doesn't know the answer to her questions. He says that he can't think right now with all that has been happening. Charlie asks if he wants her to continue being his divorce lawyer and he says, he doesn't know. After a few minutes, he finally says for Charlie to send him her final invoice for her services. Charlie replies that was the answer she was looking for and she leaves the brownstone. She calls McNally from her car and says that Damian has fired them, but for McNally to continue looking into Tina Leavitt's death. He says he will continue investigating. The Build More work done on the chassis today. With the exception of the wheels, the chassis is done and I started on the interior. McNally will return...
  7. Thank you David!
  8. Thank you Tom! This is my third '90 Mustang. Fun to build and to modify.
  9. Thanks Jeremy! I got up this morning and came down to the Model Cave, sat down and looked at the Charger hood. After staring at it for a bit, I didn't like how the edge was progressing. It was uneven and breaking free in sections along the hood edge. I decided to re-engineer the strip again by removing the old strip, cleaning the edge, cutting a new strip and gluing it onto the hood. I'll let this sit for a while to dry and then I'll start shaping the edge again. I used a piece of Tamiya tape to help protect the hood edge from debris created during the process. More to come...
  10. I'm trying to fix the hood to match the front fenders on the '69 Charger 500. I've posted again on my WIP thread. When I have updated the hood to my liking, I'll post a final picture on this thread.
  11. I decided to try and fix the front of the hood. I added a strip of styrene to the forward edge with some Tamiya Extra Thin Cement and started to file and sand the upper edge of the strip into a bevel. Now, to see if I can match the angle I need for the hood.
  12. Thank you Larry!
  13. Thank you Chris, Tom and Jim!
  14. A little progress on the DB4 3.7 Liter engine. I got the wires installed into the plug holes and the plug wire tube with holes drilled for the plug wires. I removed the clamps from the chassis/interior and finished the interior. I added the front and rear suspensions. More to come...
  15. Sean, I used Tamiya AS-15 Tan (USAF) straight from the can. Grey would have been the correct factory stock color, but tan in my eye, looks better.
  16. Thank you Charlie and Matthew! I had heard that there were about 380+ Charger 500s built instead of the NASCAR required 500. I wish that Revell would produce one which should be fairly easy for them to do. They have the molds for the '68, '69, and the '70. A Charger 500 body and interior would be rather easy, I would think...
  17. Someone, somewhere said that this kit is a bear to put together. The chassis and interior are starting to prove that. I have been struggling to get this together even after I have scraped the paint and plastic for glue adhesion. I got the engine compartment and the trunk floor glued and clamped and I will leave it like this for a while. More to come...
  18. Thank you Michelle, Carl, Chris and Lee!
  19. Thanks Dominick! My '69 Charger 500 is completed and posted in Under Glass.
  20. This is my '69 Charger 500 which has been rebuilt for the third time. Originally paint with Tamiya XF-28 Dark Copper with Tamiya X-22 Gloss Clear shot through my Badger 200 airbrush. I used the chassis and the interior from the AMT '69 GTX and the interior is brush painted with Model Master Classic White. I changed the steelies and hubcaps to Magnum 500s andGoodyear White Lettered Tires.
  21. For the longest time, I have hated detail painting Magnum 500s! I do it, but I still just absolutely hate it. Re-assembly has begun and so far, so good! The AMT '69 Charger 500 kit is a compromised kit. The hood came from another version of the Charger, possibly a 1970 version. I'm trying to figure out a way to fix this hood. There was a corrected resin hood for this kit, but I can't remember where I saw it or who was the resin caster. More to come...
  22. I am starting to hate these little projects that turn into bigger projects. Case in point...my '69 Charger 500. I saw elsewhere a Charger 500 that looked really nice with white lettered tires and Magnum 500 wheels. I have the same model on the shelf with hubcaps and steelies and redline tires. I decided to change the wheels and tires...wrong move! The rear window was in the back seat having broken loose from the body, but everything else was intact. I tried to remove the wheels and they wouldn't budge, so the chassis would have to come out. As I removed the chassis, the rear suspension broke loose and the radiator came out. When I was done taking the Charger apart, the interior remained all together. I glued the rear window in and called it a night. I am fortunate enough that the body and paint was still good. The clearcoat still glossy and shiny and a simple cleaning was in order. A polishing with Meguiars Scratch X 2.0 and Novus 2 Fine Polish and the body gleams. When the Charger is back together, I'll wax it with Novus 1 Plastic Polish & Shine. The glass was unscathed and polished out nicely. More to come...
  23. Thanks Dan! I have seen a few Revell kits that have the B, C, and D pillars covered by the interior pieces. They are out there, just hard to find.
  24. I've been picking away at the DB4 today and I finished the engine compartment. I next tackled the steering wheel by painting the spokes silver and the rim with flat dark tan covered with clear ornage. The instrument panel is completed. Just needs the steering wheel and steering column. More to come...
