Hey Ben,I took a look at your pics. There is some very cool stuff in there. Is the Ford W9000 a scratchbuilt model? Some very nice work going into that one.I always liked those after seeing the Blue Mule in White Line Fever, the scene where it jumps through the sign has stuck in my head ever since.

WOW! I cant think of anything else to say other than stunning! Very nice.

Very nice work. I like that you painted your tanks, nice deviation from the polished style tanks that seems to be favoured. -

Thanks for that Ryan, much appreciated. -
Hi guys, because my H61 Mack build is on hold as I am waiting on information from the Mack museum and some parts from Auslowe, I am building a resin conversion Diamond T, P series to keep me busy.Should be a nice build. I am using the AMT Chevy Titan kit as the donor chassis and motor. Have already converted the chassis to RH drive and made new mounts and straps for the tanks. I was just wondering if anybody could tell me what colour the Detroit Diesel should be painted as it doesnt give any indication on the box or instructions.

What a beauty! You got some great skill with your weathering technique,if you were to photograph it outside it could quite easily be mistaken for the real thing! -
Very nice build.I am scratchbuilding an H61 Mack at the moment and want to do a B model next. Who did you buy the cab and chassis through here in Aus? Are they still being sold?

Excellent! Thats a brilliant idea. I will do that and thanks for passing on their address.

Thanks for looking. I had that fire extinguisher put aside for ages, waiting for the right truck to put it on. The old rod on the back is a revell 32 ford that I have chopped and channelled.I added some caddy hubcaps on the front with pontiac rims on the rear. The motor is a big block Chrysler, but I made the lakes pipes.Funny thing, when I took the truck outside to take the pics, I didnt even notice I had left the car on the tray, lol! Might have to put some chains around the wheels and leave it there. -
This one was built out of boredom,to try out some new ideas and to use some KW and other parts I had. The cab was built around the doors which were cut out from the revell w900 snap kit. It is the first time I have made a cab with opening toolboxes. I made my own hinges for the doors which are nice and neat and open better than other ones I have made before.I used the engine from the revell firetruck and the chassis I think is from the White Freightliner and converted to RH drive. The front and rear bumpers are hand made and the tail lights are plastic cut out from the sides of a cd case and painted with tamiya clear red and orange. The cab glass is also cut from a cd case and shaped to fit, makes for a realistic look I think. The interior is mostly from the parts box but the dash is scratchbuilt and uses instruments from a KW kit. Not a very accurate model but I had fun building it and had to have a k100 in my collection, and couldnt find a kit. Follow My link and take a look.

Very tough looking truck. Is that cab the re release AMT kit? -
Sure do,they just have that no nonsense, meant for business,no bull look about them. And with all the curves etc they are challenging to build. Art on wheels!

This is the one that has got me pulling chunks of hair out of my head, because it is so hard to find decent pics and other info on an h 61 Mack,so its been happening really slowly .But its getting there .Everything you see so far is all scratchbuilt, except headlight buckets. But its got a long way to go. Ideally I would like to use a 50s style chassis but dont know what, so I may have to use an R series Mack chassis for it but cant find one.The colour will be british racing green, not sure what colour for the interior yet. Take a look following My link and feel free to leave any ideas or suggestions to help me get it done.Cheers.

This is my bubblenose peterbilt that is entirely scratchbuilt, except for the chassis which is from the revell firetruck kit. The cab took about two weeks of perseverance to get it right before I could even primer it. I like to make opening doors when I build my own cabs so I had to double skin the doors, so that the outer skin sits outside the door opening and rest on the body, then made some little hinges which work a treat .The cab seats are from an AMT IH transtar, the dash is all scratchbuilt as are the door handles, winders, ashtrays, logbook holder on the rear wall between the seats, full width roof console and a small dash mounted fan. Spotlights were mounted by drilling through the front pillar then gluing a hand control through the hole. The chassis as I mentioned is from the firetruck kit and mostly stock, but has a few mods such as fuel tank from the revell Krupp kit with mounts from AMT Transtar, repositioned air tanks and a couple of toolboxes to it to make it look older. I used a 3408 Cat engine I had in my parts box, mostly because it was the only engine I had that would fit under the floor, but mainly because if it were a real truck the Cat V8 would sound awesome! The tray is all scratchbuilt from evergreen sheet and I beam. The front bumper is also made from evergreen. The little Pete badges are just evergreen covered with BMF and cut down decals.Probably the most time consuming part was making the grille from 1mm square rod, took a couple of attempts before I was happy with it.The colours are chrome yellow and midnight black and really looks smart with just the right amount of chrome to contrast. Anyway follow My link have a look and see what you think. Cheers.

Hello again,I have been away from the forum for a while, but been busy with a couple of projects which I will share with you here.First is my KW bullnose.I bought the resin cab from Aussie resin models and made a few changes to it such as extending the cab sides level with the wheel arches, made tool box doors and sunvisor from sheet plastic, cut open the grille and added vertical bars and also some bolt head detail around the front panel and drilled holes for the indicators and head lights. The cab sits on an aussie KW chassis and is RH drive,I used a 250 Cummins from the White Freightliner kit and the tanks are from my parts box.The front and rear bumpers are handmade from aluminium sheet I also added airline connections and hoses and another piece of flat aluminium between the chassis rails. The interior has a few more scratchbuilt items such as a small fan, tachograph meter, logbook holder mounted to the dashboard ashtrays in the doors and a roof consloe and is painted off white, cream and red.Exterior paint is diamond white and signal red with a thin gold pinstripe to break it up a little.Anyway follow My link have a look and tell me what you think.

i agree with you,one of the good things about modern technology is the ease that which you can find these sort of trucks via the internet, then with skilled hands and a bit of know how, you can build one. some cool stuff was built in those old days. -

the white sounds like an interesting build. are you gonna post some pics on the forum of it? i was doing another image search the other day and came across a 1939 white streamliner that was owned by labatts beer and am seriously considering that one and the matching trailer as my next scratchbuild, just got to find as many pics of it as i can. should make for an interesting project.
