model engine detail
Railfreak78 replied to kennysteez's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I use a picture of what I am building if I am going to be detailed and then I use different sizes of floral wire ( For fake plants and flowers) for larger wires like spark plugs and battery cables. I use phone wire insulation for spark plug boots. I also use beading wire for smaller details wire. -
I see a lot of potential here. Is that right hand drive? A right hand Caddy would be really neat.

Love the windows!!

After making my "Sub-Urban" build I have been itching to do a crazy build. Something out of the normal realm. SO... I introduce my drag Fire truck. I've have this one planned out in my mind for about 3 months. I only worry about the engine as far as what I "see" . I am starting with a snap kit from my pile of junkers that most would give up on. Check out the cool speakers in the grille and the glitter . So anyway here is my start point and now it is in the purple pond. More soon!.

I think this one is shaping up really nice Marty and I mean it

Johnny you have my prayers sir. I hope they can figure it out and help her and soon. My wife has poor health and I know the feeling you get as a guy in that boat. May you have much more time with her.

This could be a hair raiser

Sweet! I aspire to be a drummer but I am no good I have a set. Yeah the dirt road with switchback leading to I-17 is just fun if you know what your doing. The one from there to lake pleasent is crazy like this. I actually sent a 3 wheeler over the edge once. It got stuck in between 2 trees. We made a human chain with our arms and got it back. I messed up all the plastic, handle bar, headlight and such but It still ran. I finished to Crown King and back to the Lake. Oh and that was a little Honda 110 Sorry if this is a thread jack people This Jeep picture reminds me of fun times on roads like this. -
Nice build on a subject not really done. I like the color and wheel choice. It's clean and not over done in the tuner world. I like Tuners but It's nice to see a suttle car too.

FaceBook how do we use it?

I found you through Billy Kingsly so I sent a request -
I like the stock sedan look you did with this. Very clean and nice work

Nice start to a car/truck I love! I actually watched an idiot kid pull a dumb and dumber movie scene by backing up with the door open and hit something and bend the door almost to the fender. I wish I could have taken it and told him he does not deserve it. Any hoot Nice colors too.

I love the progress of the trailer. The truck came out better than I dreamed it would and I knew it was going to rock from the beginning. Do you have pics of your car you won the BF Goodrich trophy for? I ask do to my first car was a Mercury Zepher 4 door and my friend had a Fairmont 2 door. I know about the very rare Durango so I would appreciate the work for sure

Looks killer Marty and I feel the Camaro table is in trouble now. I can't wait to see this up close.

Thats a cool and different topic. I see the box picture has that wicked body kit but I didn't see it in the parts, Does it have them?

Nice work again! Another one of my favorite drivers. I remember when he cut his finger on here at PIR working on the old "Super truck" A fan found it they put it on ice, he had it put back on and ran truck,Busch, and Cup that weekend. He also gave me tickets to practice and pole day in 1995 I was happy but heart broken for the Luminas were gone.

Help wanted with supplies
Railfreak78 replied to kobuzz's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Amen to Tooth picks and clothes pins! I know there are fancy tools out there but I use these and that Bondo putty Mark showed, a little Evergreen and let the scratch building begin! Think simple to start, You do not need to spend a ton of money on a tool that clothes pins will handle. Best part who cares if you get paint on it? -
Man the things I dream about you make... We make a great team right? Great stuff again!

I did not realise how long ago I made this post. I had just joined. I only had my cell phone for pics ( Which you camera guys yelled at me for ) I also did not have Photobucket yet and I kept asking Gregg why I only had so much space? I Have to remove photos to add new ones? So this was lost in time and I figured I'll update this car. Bad blurry start to now. This car has been to the worst and back and in it still. I have had every problem with fit on this but it is a thrift store find. MY inexperience messed up a triple black paint job with glue. Any hoot.. as always feedback and enjoy is welcome

I have always been able to get in since the creation of the chat room under the new skins and such but now I cant so your not the only one.
-
Hey Highway I will get a couple pics of one I did and messed up and have to finish but I just got one of those kits. I'm not sure if everything is there but if you need parts maybe we can work a deal. The one I just got only has some black marks on some parts. Purple power will clear it up.

Thanks for feedback on both sides! My main worry is that crack where the glue stuff is streaked. I don't want that coming back and through new paint. I know a lot of guys wont touch this stuff but I like it. I find it rewarding and a challange. To hear guys say they wont touch something started makes me wonder what gems in my eyes were trash in theirs Anyways Being this is a beater I think I will be doing some detail work as I go too. Might as well try a few things. I always enjoy the feedback so thanks again guys!

Thanks for the thoughts and feedback guys. Jimmy I agree. I still need some tool and I didn't even try to sand this at all. I was using this one as a moch up basically to see if I would be interested in making more. I'm also not to worried about the paint so it can see the purple pond. Its just testors bottle red and spray grey primer. I think I will clean this up as you guys seem to like it a bit so far
