Dale Jr's 2007 Bud Patriotic Monte Carlo
Railfreak78 replied to David Thibodeau's topic in WIP: NASCAR
Fantastic build! I've been watching NASCAR since 1984 and man your so detailed I think I'm standing in a real shop watching this getting ready to go in the hauler. -
My first model was mid 80's snap tight red molded Camaro 1:43 scale I think. I never painted it and then put the stickers on it. I was 6 years old and left it outside on a hot Phoenix summer day and the windows and roof melted. I never touched them again till I was 9 and my first glue kit was a F14 Tomcat which I screwed up the moving wings which brought me back to cars and my first 57 Chevy Hot Rod mag edition.

Thanks for that link it does help a lot. I'll share another secret for detail pics is check out Dupont Registry also. Right now the Lambo is getting squeezed together for the rear end chassis had a bad curve that affected the suspension and engine cage. I'm fixing it now and should meet up with the body better later on. Other than not being familiar with this platform its a fun kit!

Looking sharp man! I love concept cars and this is fantastic!

Nice Ranger Mr.Mike I like the paint and those tires!
-
Hey that work bench looks awfully familiar
-
Hey Marty thanks for the post. It looks right at home. Hey by the way... That blue Nova next to it barely in the picture.. Does the trunk open on that kit or did the guys with that car at the meeting cut them? Thanks

My Bronco is under glass. There are some nice builds here. I really dig the van and orange stepside. I don't know if this will count here but... The Chevy was painted in all paint marker when I was 16. Not to bad no streaks although I never pulled it off again

Very sharp looks like it would be a blast to drive to the car show
-
It's a 1988 Monogram Exotic Car Series Lambo. Almost looks like the anniversary car since it's white on the box. I've painted it black and need to buff it out still. I'm going to go with a red interior I think. I found some good pics online to get some good detail Ideas.
-
Hey Marty! I was gonna say an off creme color for the interior 'till I saw you did it already anyway it looks great so far. The hood idea in my mind would depend on your rims. Go stock then maybe the black or keep it the color you have. Do custom wheels and add a color match stripe around the custom hood to match inside?? maybe some other key areas? Just a thought

Never thought of the Demo scene with this wagon and its perfect for it. Great topic!

Real or Model #120 FINISHED!
Railfreak78 replied to Harry P.'s topic in Real or Model? / Auto ID Quiz
I'm going to go with my son on this one lol. We say model! -
Sad thing is this one looks both. Body and cage and tires look real. Beadlocks look fake and some of the holes are flood painted. Gear shifts look like they are held in front of the lens.... hmm..... I say fake. If its ok with the big guy in charge anyway

Best/Worst Winter Vehicles!
Railfreak78 replied to Chuck Most's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I have limited amount of drive time in snow compared to most since I'm born and raised in Phoenix. I did live north of Seattle for 3 years and our high country in AZ gets snow so... Best cars are by far my daily driver from WA: 1986 Toyota Camry with a 22r and 5 speed. Then 1988 Chevy Celebrity I learned how to drive in the stuff with in northern AZ. Worst ones are my 76 Plymouth Fury and 91 Dodge Shadow convertible. -
They actually carried the RR over to the Aspen/Volare body style but the 75 style was the last full size. I was going to make my Fury sport into a clone but it never panned out. I believe most RRs this style had the 360 but DONT QUOTE ME Mopar guys lol.

Killer work so far! I love the chassis. As far as that car goes I'm not sure on the rear tires. I bought a CD/dvd that had more info on all the cars and they gave me the left over from the year before I was so mad but oh well. I just remember that wicked skull and the out of this world exhaust. Oh and that orange was blinding! Keep up on that build its great so far!
-
Hey I could certainly use the frame/chassis and interior for sure. I have a big junkyard so if there is anything I could help you out with let me know. I'm not in a big x-mas rush or anything so when ya want PM me ok? Thanks!

I will have a lot of gap work to do but length wise I found the Fast and Furious Charger seems to set nicely. I don't know. This is the first model I'm doing this much work on, however, in the end I think its worth it

This is an edited update due to me still figuring out the upload process since its saying I used up to much space in only a few posts I'm editing some pics. Anyway This is my 75 Road Runner long term project that was once destroyed and I will bring it back to life and model it after my 76 Fury sport I used to own ( maybe ). .

Nice version of a not to often done Buick. Love the color with the graphics.

Real clean build. I just saw ZZ Top here earlier this year and they showed the old music videos behind the guys. Really sharp car and a really sharp build!
