  1. You really do nice work Clifford! Very nice 1:1 HHR you have also!
  2. Just searched eBay for 1910-1923 diecast Chevys, found a few pre-1920 in 1/32 scale, but nothing in 1/25 until 1923... Possibly something like this one could be used as a basis for a master??? http://www.ebay.com/itm/1923-Chevrolet-Hemmings-Motor-News-Truck-No-4-1-25-Scale-Ertl-7620-Made-1992-/280758829703?pt=Diecast_Vehicles&hash=item415e87c287
  3. Yes, you are correct on the inner fenders. But to me, it's worth the trouble, but I also have a 1:1 I'm duplicating Try the Testors "wet look" clear...fairly cheap (especially with a Hobby Lobby 40% off coupon ) and works well. That should be compatible with the MCW lacquer.
  4. Hey Vernon! My favorite year of Impala! The newer tool '67 Impala chassis works surprisingly well under these, with little modification. Unless you're going for the nostalgia of the original kit chassis etc; I'd use the '67 parts. If in fact you do really want to use the MPC parts, PM me as I've got a few parts for these Did I mention I love '68 Impalas?
  5. Derrick, there are a few different Bobcat diecasts in 1/25 scale, like these in Rodney's trade thread from awhile back: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=44641 He may still have 'em!
  6. Looks pretty good to me!
  7. Wow Clifford, that looks to be a show winner! Welcome to the best place on earth for model cars!
  8. Has anyone ever reconfigured one to be conventional front-engined, or is it not worth the effort? I know you'd need a trunklid, and probably LOTS of chassis work. Just wondering before I pick up the reissue, if this isn't doable, is a resin transkit the only answer, or was a stock-ish '70 Swinger done by MPC in styrene? I've got fond memories of a '70 Swinger I'd like to duplicate one day Thanks in advance!
  9. Another great one Chuck!
  10. OUTSTANDING!!!
  11. Very nice Sam!
  12. Here's the poll Craig: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=34959&hl=poll&fromsearch=1 Making the 8' bed from the '64 Revell Chevy parts is on my project list, but it may be awhile
  13. Waaay cool!!! Nice job so far!
  14. I've been a dedicated F1 fan since 1996...haven't missed a race (I do cheat most of the time & record and watch the coverage when I can!) Been to two races, the 1998 Canadian GP, and the 2000 Indy race. Great to watch on TV, AWESOME in person! Have only built one kit though, as most are larger scale than my usual 1/25 and 1/24. ROG does some in 1/24, but the subjects are limited...
  15. David, with your skills, I don't think duplicating that Alcoa rim will be difficult! Look outside of "normal" kit building supplies for your master, like copper or aluminum tubing for the "hoop". The center should be fairly easy with thicker sheet styrene carved to duplicate the 3-dimensional features of the 1:1, or use rennshape, or balsa foam, etc. Some brass hardware in the proper size for the lugs and lots of patience and some time & you'll have it!
  16. This issue was the first of my two year subscription. Arrived in perfect condition! Thanks to all involved for a great issue. Looking forward to the next
  17. You're not alone, I've got "non-finish-itis" also
  18. Cool Josh! Many options with that cab...rollback, dumpbed, camper wedge, or like you say, a stakebed. That bodystyle does look great as a lifted 4X4 though! Looking forward to your progress
