  1. Another cool DW style build from Ira! EXCELLENT! You've inspired me to do a build like this as I've mentioned before...I've got one going, and I'll be watching yours!
  2. Great build!
  3. Welcome Ed!!! Great job on the Vicky!
  4. I'm pretty lucky here in NE Ohio, I've got three Mom & Pop type hobby shops, two Hobby Lobbys, and a HobbyTown USA all within 30 minutes of me. Then another independent shop and another HL and HT USA within ten minutes of my work in western PA. My favorite LHS is well stocked with car kits, mostly current, but a few OOP also. And a mark-down table, usually with 6-10 kits that are 50% or more off (usually only one or two are car kits though ) He discounts his current kits at about 15-20% off retail, but this was after HL moved in 3 minutes away! So, I buy most current kits from him now. I was in the Monday after Xmas talking to the owner (after spending $80+ on kits ), he said this was his best year in awhile, and still had a week to go before 2011 sales were in the bag! I think the manufacturers are helping shop sales by giving us the things we've been asking for, in new tooled kits AND reissues! Keep it up!!!
  5. Edward, for this scratchbuilt Jeep halfcab, I glued on .010" styrene sheet that was about .020" or so LARGER than the window opening. After curing, carefully cut out the window opening, leaving behind the "rubber" moulding:
  6. Paul, wet that baby down & place it in the freezer overnite...it will be even MORE brittle than the 40+ year old styrene normally is, but be extra careful and break the glue joints, prying/wedging with the 'ol exacto knife helps also. WORK SLOWLY and CAREFULLY! Good Luck!
  7. Oooh, super NICE Curt!
  8. WELCOME Randy!!! Great builds!
  9. You mean you guys never heard of the uber-rare, one year only Chevrolet 429 CID DOHC, siamesed bore, nikasil lined, dry sump, titanium rodded, boron blocked V-10???
  10. Thanks for sharing Tim! Great build inspiration pics! Got any others of this Buick???
  11. GREAT job!!! Paint looks super nice!
  12. I just traded & received one of these from a member here (thanks Matt!). Played around with the chassis parts from an AMT '71 Duster...seems to fit OK, anyone kitbashed with the Revell '68/69 Dart kit?
  13. Did you play the lottery today Virgil???
  14. SWEEEET!!!
  15. Very cool forgotten bowtie! Great deal too for $10!
  16. Good stuff as usual Ira!
  17. Could probably make a neat car-carrier out of one...
  18. Very seldom did you see orange peel on the sixties cars painted with acrylic lacquer... The original paint on my '68 is as smooth as glass. Getting thin on the sharp edges from the years, but SMOOOOTH!
  19. WOW, where's the fire? Very nice (and BIG!)
