  1. That's a good start! Chevy 283 is a good choice (not allways Hemi). Love these gassers, keep us posted!
  2. Jo-Han '72 Ford Nascar Torino: Some parts were painted but it was good shape.
  3. That's looking nice! I love classic Chevys and old school cars. This one is so smooth and paintjob is very nice. Engine is nice too is it from Revell's '58 Impala?
  4. Well Lindberg has good kits too for example '64 Dodge 330 (ramchargers, maverick, color me gone). Then '66 Dodge L700 truck and trailer+'40 Ford is quite good. Much parts but they don't fit perfectly... Bad kits are for example '71 Mustang there is rear axle, springs, drivesaft... are molded to chassis. Interior and engine aren't good too... So i don't know what is in your box.
  5. First the Chevy. It's a snap kit from 1979. When i bought the kit it was allready complete. Underneath body was painted silver. First i dissembled it and started to build interior. Then came a little break. After that i primered the body and finished the interior. I painted the body with airbrush and paintwork is best of mine. I used Revell enamel colors first i painted red and after that white to top, above side trim and trunk. There is no wax or polishing. It looked like this when i bought it: Finished model: Interior before gluing to body: And the Ford. It's a horrible kit. I started from interior and chassis. Painted with airbrush and Revell enamel red. I did all final assembly at night before modelshow in Tampere Finland. I'm not happy about result but i can't do better boxstock from this kit... Comments are welcome
  6. Very nice builds! Where those rear tires are from? My hot rod pickup needs some rubber to burn
  7. That's impressive! Love those gassers. That wagon body makes this different.
  8. Nice Willys and awesome paintjob! Much better than mine.
  9. I got idea for rat rod when i was building models with my friend. So body is from Revell's kit. I chopped windshield frame and i lovered grille. I painted body matt black and when the paint was still wet i putted Mig's rust pigment on it. I made a hole to back of the body. I haven't good frame to this, because frame what was in the box i used it to other '29 Ford. I scratchbuilt the frame and painted it by silver and rust pigment. Rear axle is from Revell's kit but front axle is from '56 Ford but i had to narrow it because it was so wide. Tires are first good ones i found and wheels are from Amt '51 Chevy. Brakes are from Revell's kit. Engine is Ford Flathead with speedparts and rust of course . Plug wires are Detail Master's and intake tubes and headers are cotton stick. Water hoses are some electric wire wich i painted by silver. Seats were too low ones so i putted pieces of matchstick under them. Steering wheel is from unknown fifties car and gearstick is a pin with mooneyes logo. Driveshaft is ''a bit'' dangerous place. Driver must be careful. There's no luxury like windshield, shocks, front spring or lights.
  10. Awesome paint job and fantastic build! I like '49 Mercurys. I have one, it's old amt kit with original height top.
  11. This is one of Lindberg's best kits. Parts fit nicely and there is enough parts to get it looking good. I started in christmas 2008 from engine. I glued cylinder heads, water pump, manifold and then i did mistake because i glued with superglue valve covers. I painted all those parts orange. Then i rezoned that valve covers are black in Hemi. So they didn't come off and i planned to paint them in place. In the box there were two kinds of air cleaners. The first ones were good looking but they needed paint. The second ones were chromed but they didn't look like air cleaners so i putted the first ones. I psinted them gloss black. I didn't have aftermarket plug wires and i didn't change them when i get aftermarket wires because the engine and all details were installed. To chassis i sprayed flat black and all axles and control arms. Again i did a mistake: i used superglue to put front frame's rear member upside down. Because of that i had to shorten front springs. I had very little pics from interior so i decided to paint floor gloss black and seats, dashboard and door panels red. Roll cage wasn't easy to glue but i used much superglue and it was there. On the dashboard needed to glue tachometer. It was easy to glue... After that i painted body with Biltema white. It went quite goodly. I decided that i spray one coat of clear and after that decals and then another coat of clear. But the first coat of clear went wrinkle. Project stayed a side for a long time. I test fitted body to interior and tachometer came out of the wingscreen. After all i moved it back about six times . Someday i decided to sand the body for a primer. This time i used Maston sprays. They worked fine, now there is no clear sprayed. Again little break because i didn't have Micro Sol. When i get it one bottle i putted decals and they fitted quite well. I din't foil body because it looks better without it.
  12. Yes, i know that plug wires were wrongly installed. I have putted more wires to Chevy big blocks so now i installed them wrong by mistake. I'll try to continue this build soon!
  13. I've forgotten to post this update here. So here you go! I test fitted body interior and chassis together. Chassis was too wide from rear because there are those pieces of plastic behing fender skirts. I must sand a bit of plastic from interior, now it doesn't fit very well... Grille is from '57 Fairlane (Custom part) and I'll glue bit of styrene to side. I have sanded body, the other side isn't still ready... It's just so boring..
  14. I ordered from Model Car Import some spark plug wires from detail master. So i took these off. I must put those aftermarket wires now to place. I have built sway bar to rear axle photo comes when it's ready. I'm building brackets now. I'll make sway bar to front too. There is a good pics about 60's Stock Car Chevy: http://www.oldcarmanualproject.com/books/1957ChevyStockCarCompGuide/index.htm
  15. Nice job on the Ford. Where is that air cleaner from?
  16. W-409

    1969 AMX

Is this built from Jo-Han kit? Nice looking AMX.
  17. WOW!! Avesome paintjob and details!
  18. Sometime i'll by '60 Impala Pro Mod resin body. Your Nova is very nice! Where is that engine, blower, scoop from?
  19. Yeah, looking good. I have on the bench '61 Don Nicholson's Impala and my dad built '62 Bel Air ''old reliable''. What color interior will be?
  20. I found a good website about Black Widow. I must do some modifications because model hasn't got sway bar, and pipes come out after rear wheel (picture of real car: http://www.57chevyblackwidow.com/602.jpg )and there is crossmember front part of frame model hasn't that...
  21. Some update. I painted valve cover text with toothpick. After done that i noticed that text was also available as decals... I put some bondo to front seat seam.
  22. Black and white Email colour whith paint brush.
  23. I'm trying to do this model well as i can. The kit is good, there is lots of parts and they fit each others well. You can also build original or Black widow version... I drilled holes to the floor for roll bar. I also started engine. Next i must paint all parts and some bolts to engine. Body: Engine: Floor holes:
  24. Hi Tommy! Black Widow pics are coming later today...
  25. Color is spray paint from local car parts dealer (Biltema) hobbypaint blue.
