  1. Looks like I was posting an update at the same time and didn't notice this one. Anyway, thanks for the information! Yep, I didn't exist way back then, not in even decades after that actually. But I remember reading it somewhere, just couldn't remember the year. Thanx!
  2. Thanks Stan, Ron and Jason! I really appreciate the kind words and I agree that the front end is turning out pretty good. I still need to add a couple of parts to the steering and then it needs shocks, too. I can't wait to see how it looks when it's done. Today I was able to work with the brake lines in front. I used Scale Dreams' Spark Plug Wire and then somekind of Copper wire I found from my tool box. The fittings are scratchbuilt from hex styrene rod. I still need to add one copper wire to the brake master cylinder, but I can't do that until the brake master cylinder is on place. Another thing I have been doing for a while now is the body work. After some putty and sanding I got it pretty smooth so today I sprayed on some spray filler. It looks pretty good, but it still needs minor sanding. Hopefully it doesn't need more putty, though, because I want to see this one painted...
  3. This is absolutely a Must Have kit for me! I think it's much more interesting than the new '70 Barracuda or Starsky & Hutch Torino from Revell. I can't wait to build this one.
  4. John keep amazing me every time he posts a new model in here. This one is not an exception, fantastic work overall. I think it's just better to say that this is very close to the perfect model... I could swear it's a real thing!
  5. Good looking Ford Hot Rod! I think you nailed the wheel and tire choice. Stance is also perfect. Nice work with the engine as well, overall a very clean build of a nice car. Only thing is that the pictures are a bit blurry. I think this good model deserves better pics.
  6. I would! I think it looks a lot better with Steel wheels and Dog Dishes. Mopar Rallye Wheels and Magnums were really nice, too, but I know I'm a steel wheel guy. They're just so good looking wheels and Dog Dishes just belong together with those wheels. Just watch the Cannonball Run thread in the Community Builds section... There I'm building a Charger Daytona, too, and it will have Steelies when completed.
  7. Welcome to the Forum! It's always nice to see more Finnish people in here . This is a great place with lots of talent, inspiration and information so I hope you'll enjoy it here. Can't wait to see what you're going to build.
  8. Thanks for the comments everyone! Yep it's an old Monogram kit... When was the BadMan issued at the first time? I can't remember. Interesting info on the kit's origins, too. That kind of information is always nice to hear. X2 on John's comment! I think it's funny that some people can't build a kit if it has inaccurate spots. In my opinion, the builder must correct the errors, or live with them... But still build the kit if the subject is interesting ! I made a little progress last week, but I had no time to post any updates. So here are a couple of pictures. I started by adding a couple of bolt / nut ends to the leaf springs and to the spindles on the front axle. They were painted with brighter silver than everything else to make them "stand out". I also added a little black wash to the front inner wheels and painted bolts. Brake lines were also glued on the wheels and after that the wheels were glued on. '
  9. Very nice work! This is a good looking body for sure and I like the Pro Mod version, too. White color looks good on it, too and I see nothing wrong with the engine. Really nice work.
  10. That turned out fantastic! I like the overall look and stance. Paint job is beautiful, too and your color choice is spot on. Great details give it a nice finishing touch. How about some outside pictures? I think it looks much better in the Mock Up shots that you took outside than in the Finished shots taken inside. Anyway, it looks excellent in both of those pics.

    1960 DeSoto

Simply fantastic DeSoto! This is one of my favorite body styles and you did an excellent job creating a true Masterpiece. That paint job looks great and I like the wheels and tires. They fit perfectly under that body. This is one of those kits I really need to get at some point.
  12. I thought polished plastic would never look this good, but you proved me wrong. Nice work with the Chevelle overall. I like the wheels and tires and your detailing is very sharp looking in the engine bay, too. Maybe slight black wash to the panel lines would make it even better, but anyway it looks fantastic just like that, too!

    50 Olds

Very nice Oldsmobile Mild Custom. I like the body modifications a lot, removing that chrome trim from the front fender was a great touch. I also like the tail lights. I might have missed it, but where did you get that rear bumber from? Nice paint job and great detailing make this one stand out from the rest.
  14. I think too it's "cheating" to retouch the pictures to make models look better before posting them. I have only cropped and resized my pictures and sometimes I have sharpened them, if they have been a bit blurry in the camera but that's all. I think that kind of modifying is alright, because it doesn't affect to the model... All flaws are still there, only the picture is better quality.
  15. Steve has excellent points. Simple, pretty basic things that can ruin an otherwise well built model completely. This is the only thing I think a bit differently. If the tire is sanded flat from the bottom, it looks better, I must admit that. But when looking at the chassis, the tires with flat bottoms definitely don't look good especially if the tire tread isn't re-scribed.
  16. I'd really like to see a model kit of '30-'31 Ford Coupe. Those Monogram kits are starting to get hard to find, at least here in Finland. I may be odd, but I think that '30-'31 Coupe looks a lot better than '32.
  17. Thanks Bob! I like it, too. It's a really nice body and I can't wait to see how it looks when I get it clear coated, polished and foiled . But then again, I'm not a greatest fan of BMF and this Fury has a lot of trims to chrome...
  18. This will be interesting! You build very nice stuff, I still think your '57 Chevy Turbo Pro Modified was one of my favorite projects ever on this forum. This will be interesting to watch, your start looks excellent. I agree with the others, those valve covers look very good.
  19. That's a really cool Corolla. Even if it's a Japanese car, I think this body looks really good. I bet that small car with a short wheelbase would be an interesting one to drive on a Drag Strip. I'll be watching this one with great interest, the work you've done so far looks really good. Especially I like the chassis.
  20. Box Stock? .... You're..... Building a.... Box Stock...? Really?? Just kidding of course. But honestly, the last thing I could wait for when I opened this Drag Racing Models section was seeing you building something straight out of the box. Anyway it's interesting to see how this turns out. Cleaning up the mold lines and ejector pin marks etc can be really annoying, but you're doing a nice job with those parts. I can't wait to see more.
  21. ScaleAutoMobilia sells those engines in resin. Auslowe Model Accessories is the manufacturer. That is the only picture I found, but the product can be found Here. The parts seem to be organized by the year, this one is in 1958. It's $17, so not a bad price for an engine kit I guess? I don't know about the quality, though.
  22. Here's mine. '60 Plymouth Fury Mild Custom that is coming together slowly. I should try painting Alclad next to get the bumpers and grille painted so I could continue. Now it's already in color.
  23. Sad to hear that the engine didn't fit, but luckily you were able to solve the problem. The black wash on those wheels and the body sure was worth it...Great job!
  24. Thank You so much, Stan, Ron, Glenn and Chris! I appreciate it. I think that color should fit really nicely on Tri-Five Chevrolets, too. It will take some time before this one is painted, though. I started doing bodywork a couple of days ago and I noticed that there are lots of flaws and mold lines. First problem was the windshield chrome trim. The upper part of that trim was completely invisible, so I had to make another one. I glued some styrene rod as a new chrome trim and now it should be a lot easier to BMF as well. I started also sanding the mold lines away and found a couple of places where some putty was needed. There's still lots of work to do and it probably needs more putty, but I hope that I could spray some Primer or Spray Filler on it soon. I also worked with the brakes / inner wheels. I painted part of the wheels with brighter silver and the brake parts with gun metal. I will add slight black wash on them still, but otherwise they are done. The actual wheels need still some work. Rear wheels need a bit of black wash and I must paint the bolts and nuts, but I'm not sure what to do with the fronts. Maybe I should remove the chrome plating and paint them silver... Let's see what I end up with. Anyway, front springs and front axle are glued on place. They need still detailing, for example a couple of bolts and nuts need to be added and then I must find shocks somewhere and fabricate mounts for them. And of course I need all of the steering parts, too.
  25. Really nice work! That chassis is a piece of art. Same thing with the engine with all of those details. I've rarely seen a Ford Capri built like this, but I must say that it looks very cool. I can't wait to see more pictures.
