My body reacts to aspartame and sucralose so I have never been able to drink diet soda. I now limit myself to about one 8oz.glass of RC Cola(Royal Crown) or as I call it Racer Cola with dinner. I’ve been finding that a lot of my favorites like Shasta Crème Soda, Nestle’s hot chocolate, and most protein drinks/ powders now have added sucralose, so they are now off my drink list choices as well.

Taillight Quiz #4 - Finished

Well, taillight #1 sure fooled me from a depth perception perspective. I was looking for a car with a flat or shallow chrome ring. Good job on picking that photo. -
Imagine the look on the ER doctor’s faces when told, “We have a 75 year old man coming in after his car blew up and he hit the wall at 302MPH”.

The door stamping design also reminds me of the VW Thing.

It also helps to have my own track in the basement to practice on.

I did not know that you could build your own flexi chassis, I thought they were all factory stamped steel with the possibility of adding aluminum pans to lighten the car. Some can take a bit of work to flatten and tune. Was this your first big race or have you been racing for a while? There are so many things that go into setting up a fast car, I’ve learned a lot by watching others prep and race.

I have most of the Parma and JK flexis.

Also ask your question at the bottom of this page, “model car racing”, or go to Slotblog.net. There are more slot car racers there that may have an answer for you, I have not used them.

Is there any way reformat that article to make it easier to read or download?

At the college I went to they used to say, “ The farmers dropped their hogs off at college and took their daughters to market”.

So, here’s where I’m at with my solution to this problem. For years I have been outbid more than a dozen times for a suitable donor body. I was finally able to acquire a less than perfect shell (gold and blue in photo). I poured the red silicone mold around it and then used that mold to cast the gray and tan resin bucks. After a lot of filling and sanding, the gray one was used to vacuum form the three bodies in the second pic. They are formed from a clear plastic PETG film to the original scale size. The tan one will be cut along the black lines and a 1/4” will be added in both directions to form a body that will fit a modern slot car chassis that is 3 1/4” wide with a 4” wheelbase. I haven’t had time to try it yet with his mold, but I plan on doing a thin slush casting like I did with the Mercoholic pictured last.

Never did find an exact match with that big hole in the grille, but than again I was looking at Prefect’s not Perfect’s. LOL
