  1. Sorry mine is still a work in progress, only about 1/2 done but I mocked it up for you. the top and tonnou cover will be repainted to maybe leather color. along with the interior.
  2. If your new digital camera has a macro setting, you are set. make sure to read your owners manuel to learn how to operate this setting. and like Andy said lighting is most important. And a plain white or lite gray background. Just experiment, to see your best method to start. Ron.
  3. Hello Marc, Wow you sound alot like me I just turned 49 on March 8. I've been back into modeling since about 95 although I was mostly collecting models not building because my schedule was brutal. Work, kids in H.S. home, now that its calm around here I have the time to get serious about building now. I just am amazed at how you take those baterd and beatin models and turn them into show pieces. Take care and Happy Easter to you and your family. Ron. P.S. I've heard that Castrol super clean is no longer sold in Calif. Just my luck.
  4. I hear ya, I keep telling myself its because theres not enough light, but I might have to look into getting some glasses. Oh well its about time to put on some more suntan lotion and go back to my model bench. RJW.
  5. Hi Marc, Gotta question, other than the rear clip. The model came out very clean. what did you strip the paint with? also Ive seen your other posts of your models. very, very nice work. Its like you have been doing this for a while, but I get the impression that you are between 25 to 29 years old. Im not asking you to tell your age but are you over or under 30. just curious. keep up the good work and post pics often. thanks Ron.
  6. As I've been putting the effort into wiring the engine. I don't usually detail engines this much so its proving to be a real effort for me. Oh really now, I normally try to do some engine detail but it never comes out looking a fraction as good as this. great job! RJW.
  7. As a huge fan of the Corvette (especially racing versions) I will be watching this one. Your start to this one is Top Notch. cant wait to see more inprogress pics. SO PLEASE MORE PICS. RJW.
  8. I wanted to go to this show. The Goodguys show in Del Mar. but the admission price and the 180mile round trip made me rethink my options. thanks so much for the pictures, SoCalCarCulture. now it is almost like I went. I love the flameing Oldsmobile. RJW.
  9. The L.A. area is a melting pot, with all kinds of languages. so I just end up shaking my head affirmativly like I understand. (survival skills) and move on. L.A. is cool. I live closer to Orange County where all the stuffed shirts live, Orange County sucks. There I've said it.
  10. Good to see you've posted more pics. and makin great progress, nice looking engine did you make the stacks? just keep building, and posting some pictures. RJW.

  13. Hey Zeb, I wish you good luck with the construction of you new workbench. after seeing the photo of your workbench in your post "The reason for my splinter project, or.. I felt bad for you, that thing is hardly big enough to eat lunch on, much less build a model kit. Best of luck bro. RJW.

  15. Dave I visited your fotki album and looked at your models. you have a lot of great builds. the Georgia Shaker is cool, I have the kit and decals to do that car, now I just need to fit it in between the 5 or 6 projects Im working now. If you dont mind I would like to use those as referance when I do mine. not to download or nothin just to look(decal placement, colormatch that sort of thing) RJW.

  19. Hi Dave, Ron again, just 2 more questions. can you explain the details of the engine? (I tried to click on the pic. but got a red X. probably something Im doing wrong, new to the computer thing, took me 8 years to convince my wife we needed to drop some cash on one) and question 2 whats the deal with the poor dude in the bed of the elky. hopefully not a personal experance. Oh yea, hey Zeb, us Woodies are all over the car modeling hobby. ever since we stopped that NASCAR thing we all been doing Models. LOL..........

  22. roadkill2525, Im not trying to replicate any car inpaticular. this build is just for fun. but thanks for an interresting photo of the Midwest auto parts Camaro. I wonder why revell included these in the 68 Firebird kit? I never intended to use the Midwest decals on the Firebird kit so I will use them on the Willys. Just trying for a period look. P.S. sorry for the huge pics, but I think Ive got it figured out.
  23. was trying to post some pics but having problems. The biggest is Today I am Babysitting my 4 year old grandson and he likes to talk (and I mean talk) and my concintration is gone. I will try later when Grandma gets home.
  24. Thanks for the tips, BMF can be a trying process. But I read somewere that if you mask off the area, and cut out the mask where the foil is to go, then put the foil on and burnish it down and use the mask as a guide to cut the foil. then remove the mask and the excess foil will come off with the masking and what you have left is an almost laser type cut. I havent tried this yet but planing to. never thought of using a hair dryer to sticky it up, gotta remember that one. also the magic marker thing is great. my eyes start freekin out after about 20 mins. of BMFing. also, its done after you have the painting complete. use a low tac masking tape. you dont want to pull up your paint when removing the mask.
