  1. Probably the best resource material is sitting right in front of you, its your computer.
  2. Its lookin' great so far. I just won that kit on ebay, just waiting for it now. I've gotta watch how you tackle yours, and maybe get a few ideas off ya.(hope you don't mind) I really like where your going with this.
  3. Hi James, I will answer your question in a more mature and courteous manner than the last poster. I found this tip somewhere, can't remember where. But here goes. I will try to explain it as well as I can. Go to a craft store, I see you live in Sydney N.S.W. so you should be able to find the google eyes that are used for stuffed animals. It is a white circular disc with a smaller disc inside that is like the pupal of the eye. Over the top of this set-up is a clear dome shape that holds it together, that is the part you need. Cut it away from the circular disc, and you have your headlight bucket. Just paint it silver on the inside, you could even make a hole for wire leads to stick out. These google eyes come in various sizes and are not very expensive. Hope this is of some use to you. Cheers, Ron Did a search and here is what I'm talking about.
  4. Its easy to make a wash from any paint you already have, nothing more to buy. A wash is merely thinned out paint. Just add some thinner to paint until it is like water. Then just flow it on the part. For example: I want to add a wash to a '32 Ford grill, just thin the paint with paint thinner, (brush cleaner type thinner works well too) and using a paint brush, dip into the wash and apply it to the grill. when it drys, just gently wipe the excess with a Q-tip dipped in thinner, but keep the Q-tip from being saturated with thinner, just a lite dampening of the Q-tip. And thats about the best I can explain it. Also a wash is good for weathering Engines, suspention parts, and wheels. Just practice a little and you will have it down in no time. Good luck. Ron
  5. OK, I took a few pics of the Fire truck kit for you Robert. Pics of the box sides. Postcard & mini-box Chrome tree. Sorry I don't want to take it out of the bag yet. frame & engine. More body parts, and the awesome pie crust slicks. Close-up of the drag slicks. Hope this helps you out. But you need to get this kit. OOPS, I forgot to take a pic of the red clear parts and windshield. And I just noticed that the rear wheels shown on the box, are different than what comes in the kit. Hummm, The slicks are great, I wish I could get a bag full.
  6. Yep, Got it for my birthday. 3/8/10 Round2 is also doing a special version with some extras. PE front wheels, and some other goodies. Check out Model roundups web site for all the info on it. BTW,it is a cool kit. Is there something specific you want to know about the kit?
  7. Very well done. In the last pic, did you photoshop the model into the pic with the older couple? Real nice replica,
  8. Looks very cool, the angle of the motor gives it a real dragstrip look. As for decals, I see it with some simple black numbers and a class designation letter kinda like this 26/g You mught have to find out the designation for your class car, but just a thought. Keep up the nice work.
  9. WOW... Very nicely done. Mine could use a make-over like that. Very well done.
  10. Happy Birthday Gerald. Hope you have a great day. Cheers, Ron

That is a beauty. Fantastic job. Nice choice of wheels, they are perfect for that car. The paint looks great as usual on your builds. Love it.
  14. Hey Christian, How ya doin? Its good to have another young builder on the forum. Can't wait to see your Corvette project, I'm a fan of the Corvette, I'm working on a 1969 Vette myself. I think it is so cool that you, your pops and uncle build cars. I wish more of my family were into the hobby. Keep at it, you have some great teachers to learn from. And post those pics soon, I gotta see that Vette. Ron
