  1. you dont live around st louis do you? there is a truck here that looks exactly like that.
  2. as an olds guy, it really sickens me that some one cut up not one but two vista cruisers to make that thing!
  3. this is my new build. i've been wanting to build a chevelle ive had sitting around for a while. i wanted to build a totally rusted out, beat down, ###### box car and experiment with weatering and rust for the first time. i want it to look as if it was broken down in 1976 and never touched again until it was just bought. this was my insperation, only i want it to look crappier i cut off the front clip, trimmed, filled, and reshaped the front half of the frame this is the first time ive ever tried to open anything so i just went with the trunk and im making a new trunk floor for it im flocking the interior and the brown spots are supposed to be torn, wornout carpet im in the process of trimming and fabing parts of the firewall. also in the works are the front edges of the door jambs and hinges since they are now exposed with no front clip. im going to mix-match the wheels and tires a bit with wide aluminum slots in the back and bare rally wheels in the front on bald tires. by the way, i got the rally wheels with no caps from bandit resin and they look outstanding!
  4. when i went to it earlier tonight, it had a completely different format. it almost looked like craigslist in a way.
  5. whats up with photobucket? the whole appearence and all the functions are different. i dont trust it.
  6. i'm not sure which GMC your asking about so i'll tell you about both and you wont find either anywhere. the jimmy is a bunch of kits. the body came from a '75 blazer snap kit, the front clip and tailgate came from the '84 GMC 4X4 kit, and the suspension is from the USA-1 monster truck. the 2500 pickup is a couple of kits too. the bed is from the long bed '72 chevy pick up, the cab is from the '72 GMC stepside, and the suspension is from the "mad mudder" blazer kit. thanks for the compliments! heres a shot of the rear of the jimmy
  7. the '56 chevy and the '72 GMC are replicas of my friend kens two trucks. the '84 Jimmy is a WIP right now.
  8. i had a 1:1 71 vista. if you need more reference shots let me know. i have lots!
  9. zoom zoom, i just happened to have some meguiars scratch x and tried it on a test piece. it looked awsome! i sanded a little to heavy on the good model, so i sprayed it with wax remover and put a new coat of paint on it and i'll start the whol;e process again. how do you get the dried wax out of the door jambs?
  10. im about to through it across the room in frustration so i'll chanel that anger into harder buffing.
  11. ok i got the micro mesh kit. i wet sanded the car with every grade of paper changing my direction everytime. i got out most of the orange peel, but now i cant get the shine back. im using the polish in the kit. wheres the mirror finish?
  12. ive got the chassis done with the exception of a little touch up here and there. i'll be wet sanding and polishing the body today so the next time you see this one should be in the under glass section.
  13. i have the cordless 7.2 V model 77Q, and it SUCKS! it has enough power, but it doesnt hold a charge for any length of time. every time i get into a project when i have to use it alot, it never last and i have to stop what im doing.
  14. does anyone know where i can find a detail set for the baldwin motion '70 1/2 camaro? i ordered one off ebay from a place called megahobby over a week ago and they just let me know they'er out of stock.
  15. i use my garage as my building area and this time of year it only gets to about 50 degrees in there. i have a small electric heater on my bench and i use that to heat the rod. just hold the rod close to the element for a 10 seconds or so while rotating the rod for even heating and it works perfect.
  16. I CANT GET IT to show up in microsoft word. how do you import the image.
  17. what do ya say we redesign the turbo plumbing one more time! it didnt fit again. so i started over on the plumbing and i swicthed from #4 solid copper wire to .118" solder. to put an ultimate end to the clearence issues i also removed the inner wheel wells. not what i wanted to do, but id like to get this one finished and on to the next one soon. let me know what you think.
  18. i need picts of a single turbo exhaust system. specificly, the underside of the car showing how the two exhaust pipes join and go into the turbo exhaust outlet.
  19. wow! i didnt relize that if i deleted picts on photobucket it did it here too. well heres some updated picts. the interior is pretty much stock. i flocked the floor and the lower portions of the door panels. i also added some speakers to the kick panels. i used a .005 micron pen to add some detail the decals left out. the engine is done for the most part. maybe a little more wiring after its installed. i replaced the too tall carb hat with the stock ram-air air cleaner. i didnt think id like it, but i think its ok tthe way it worked out. the chassis is almost wrapped up. i added fuel and brake lines and emergency brake cables and cable hangers. i also put brake lines on the axle with lines going to the calipers. i still need to extend the lines into the engine bay.
  20. what color would you say this is? i think its the old "butternut" pale yellow color gm used back in the sixties. this is the camaro from the 1976 movie The Gumball Rally. i plan on doing a reproduction of it.
  21. thanks phil. i actually just got an email from ed about this.
  22. does anyone know of a resin scoop like this? its very similar to the stinger hoods, but it doesnt have the point sticking out of the middle.
  23. this was my first car, and my dads first new car when he bought it in '71. and yes i still have it.
  24. please share your weathering techniques. they look awsome!
  25. does anybody know what happened to CRM Hobby Store(in south city)? ive been away from the hobby for a while and went by there yesterday to find it was a maytag store. i hope he just moved. it was the only place i knew to get old or rare kits.
