Very cool build! Great job replicating an awesome piece of drag racing history. Gotta love those 70's era pro stocks.

Awesome job on his build. Those decals look great, I wasn't aware they were making them. -

This is looking great! Awesome work so far. -
Great job! The body mods, color combo and paintjob really work so nice together. And that flathead looks sweet in there too.

Looks great so far. Awesome job on the paint also.

I agree with what has been said, that it is best to check for SPECIFIC contest rules rather than generalize. IPMS rules may mean nothing at certain contests. That being said I figured I would throw this out for comments. How far can one take weathering in an OOB contest? Paint, washes, filters, pigments would all seem OK. But say I wanted to drill out some bullet holes or add some rot holes to a car model by drilling or cutting out small sections of plastic? Technically I am not adding anything that didn't come with the kit, but rather taking it away. Acceptable or not? What about if I do a beater version and leave off a wheel cover on two rims or it has a missing bumper, grille or even a hood to enhance the theme? Does this count against me in judging? I've never read any rules that say ALL kit parts have to be used, so what if they are intentionally left off?.

I have several old kits that had glue marked windows or ones that had decals or had yellowed. One thing I found that works wonderful (I have even used this to polish my paint) is a 3M Headlight restoration kit PN#39008. I picked one up for about $20 dollars, but saw WallyWorld has them online for about $15. It includes several different grit velcro backed sanding pads up to 3000, a foam polishing pad and compound. It all works with a common drill. I use a variety of sanding sticks to take down the glue then once it is level to the plastic use the sanding pads. 3000 grit and the polish left it crystal clear with no sanding or swirl marks. However, this wouldn't be well suited for any glass that has raised or scribed lines molded in to it.

UGLY !?!? That thing is sensuous! Great build. I want one now.

Very cool! Nice color for a bug too. I definitely need to get one of those kits myself.

This is an incredible build! Great concept and an outstanding job on all the detailing.

Great job! The subtle curves of that Stude body work nicely with that paint.

A Bunch of MASSCAR photos!

I built a 69 Chevelle drag car over 20 years ago for a club contest. Not sure if that is what you are referring to, or perhaps thinking of someone else? -

Thanks for the pics Terry. There were a lot of nice quality builds there this year. MassCar does a nice job with their events. This was the first time I have gone in quite a while and it was a very enjoyable show. -
Thanks for sharing the pics Mike. I attended the show also and thought it was a very nice event.

I've got a couple of the 69 Chevelle kits stashed away for future builds. After seeing your pics of how the Modelhaus parts look I am definitely going to order a set for each car. Thanks for taking the time to show us all and keep the progress pics coming.

I really like the way you executed the integration of the T Bird pieces onto the 57. It looks like it could have been an actual vehicle that Ford built. Great job!

Nice start so far. What are the plans for power and paint?

Looks great so far. I like the post and flat hood look and the stance is great.

I love this build! So many times I have seen attempts to incorporate styling cues from older vehicles fail when applied to a more modern car, but you nailed it perfectly with this concept. I love what you did with the wheels to make them appear larger and more modern, it certainly sets off the overall effect IMO. Awesome job!

I love it! Nice to see something different and great job utilizing the Plymouth body in this build. Your weathering technique is excellent. I'd love to see a little tutorial on how accomplish the overall effect.

Very nice build. There's just something so sexy about a black 67 GTX!

After Stroke - Building Again, good therapy

Sure sounds like good news and progress to me! Glad to hear your back to the hobby and it is once again fulfilling. Sounds like you are approaching this with a good attitude. Keep at it and keep it fun. -
I just can't help but wonder how many people reading this actually recall the Monroe Handler? Neat to see this as a kit project. This should be a fun build. Wasn't there even an ad that had Reggie Jackson in it showing the car in the background? This goes along nicely with the other current post utilizing a road-race inspired Monza as they are very similarly styled kits. Wow....let the flashbacks begin! Bring on the Levi's Denimachine next..haha
