Didn't want you all to think I am slacking. Got my replacement engine in the mail so I have been working on it. Not to dissapoint Q-tip with my disclaimer I did have to change the fuel filter setup for this old gal. Did not care for the compressor to the turbo either. Yeah Q-tip I know... -

John, Nice work on the piping . Man I dont miss installing those exhaust clamps with that little chunk of foil for the seal ! Hey do you know where I can get a "single headlight" conversion for one of these Freight - shakers ? -
For once I remembered Currently working on a Cummins engine for the KW Aero that came with a Detroit.

"snap" W900
Old Buckaroo replied to TRaymo's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Yep, those are good and for large areas I like this stuff. You can find it at most parts stores. A tip when using any putty get some "green scotchbrite pads" I cut them into 1"x1" squares. Scuff the area up some with your little pad. The green will not remove any detail (rivets & ect) but will scuff the plastic to give the putty some bite other then applying over shiny polished plastic. -
1/16 peterbilt cabover

Roger that, I am even more impressed now. -
This is the kit that got me back at my modeling bench after almost a 4 year break. I had always wanted these "Aurora " kits when I was a kid but could not afford them. First time I saw this model at a friends house when I was 12 , 39 years later I now have one on my bedside table - although my Wife does not share my enthusiasm. Flesh base color was WWII Luftwaffe RLM 62 with dry brushed Michaels acrylic craft paints. (worked really well) This was a Monogram issue and my first figure kit .

Wow - really nice work, what really jumped out and caught my attention was the injector lines. Where do you find kits in this scale ? -
Need some help finding this!

The best place I ever found for oddball stuff like this is Hannants over in the UK... yeah I know but their shipping is not really that bad and Royal Mail is really quick. http://www.hannants.co.uk/search/index.php?search=mesh&pricer=1¤cy_id=2 -

Old Buckaroo replied to KJ790's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
That 1/1 is a beauty ! There was nothing better then those old rigs and paint jobs. I wish I had two "Yard ornaments" that cool ! Your truck turned out awesome - I cant wait to see what your next one will be. -

Outstanding, I really like the oil/grease on the block and bell housing. All that is missing is a pack rat nest along the inner fender - firewall area. -
canadian kw
Old Buckaroo replied to mistermodel's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
What a great idea the Canadians had, sure beats jacking the cab in that nice tropical climate that is known North of the Border. Very nice work ! -

KW COE Aero / BJ McKay rig
Old Buckaroo replied to Old Buckaroo's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Nice short trucks Qtip, You could always hide one of those model railroad smoke units in the sleeper and fire up those stovepipes in that KW ! Still working on this - Spent most of last night masking the interior to get it painted. Haven't decided how I am going to paint the blanket yet. If I was high tech and had a printer I would go for a "Pendelton" blanket. Now the hard part painting all the details. -

Those are some other nice builds you have going there. That "Pete" looks like something I would of wanted to build way back. And I like your logging truck - I dont have to set an alarm clock here , every weekday morning I get to listen to a Big 'ole KW come off the mountain full retarder. That first load is always huge logs , most likely "Power pole" picks. -

Funny thing about shortening this frame - It is against my beliefs ! I grew up out west where you had forty acres or more to turn a rig. When I was a teen I bought two of the BJ Areo's and stretched the frame and doubled up the sleepers for a real highyway palace. Legos - I love them I cant tell you how many of these bottles I have knocked over when doing work - wearing my Optivisor so I can see. Thanks for looking in and commenting ! -
