I have been looking at this kit on the bench now for several days. I am hitting a stumbling block on attaching the fenders to the hood. The hood has that nice groove for them. If you position the fender all the way to the front groove it does not fit right due to the step up on the rear of the fender. If you position to where it is level there is about a .030" gap. So you guys that have built this kit what did you do about this, have the gap and fill it with a strip of styrene or did you eave the gap , Or remove some material off the step up to where it fits flush against the hood sides ?

That was pretty funny, you could see some of those people losing air that was waiting.

Doesn't the Revell "Snap" KW come with an 8 Bag set up ? If so that would be more affordable. -

Wow - that is a beauty. Your engine detail work is amazing. Nice color combination also. I have a 359 Cali Hauler in progress and I was also thinking of using a color similar to your top color also. If I was to wait for a nice day to take pics outside that would be sometime in June here -
That is one tough looking truck. I cant believe you did this in two weeks Very nicely done. I sure wouldn't want to see this in my rear view mirror , more menacing then a rust colored Pete !

John - That is one Beautiful truck. The color combination is Great. The outside pics really bring out the colors and detail. Don't feel bad about the cab locks - The instructions show them that way. -
So Smoooth , Wow ! I really like the "radar detector" did you scratch build that ?

Peterbilt 352 "Pacemaker" 1:25 AMT

This is a real beautiful truck with realistic road grime. That driver definetly needs to be looking for a Truck Wash along the interstate. Fantastic Job ! -
KW K-123 and post trailer
Old Buckaroo replied to tbill's topic in Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
This is really nice. I also like is being without the visor - seems more fitting for a fleet truck. The wood in the trailer is a nice touch along with the "drivers" name on the door. Now I know why JT's last build was blue, someone else has cornered the orange paint market I want to get this KW kit and build the same now ! -
Could possibly be the one was sent by mistake . Hopefully the other one is still in their possesion.

Maybe an older kit and the later ones got revised instructions ?

Pretty scary huh, a bolt on the road jumps out to my eyes more then a broken bottle. I think where I live they all must be to the exhaust . Seems like nobody in this town has a muffler.

Pee-Wee Herman's bike just went for big bucks on Ebay!
Old Buckaroo replied to Modelmartin's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
I wonder how much flak that guy took from his Wife for buying it in the first place for 10 G ? I always wondered what happened to that bike. Reckon Francis finially got it for that amount of money spent ? -
Whoa! Christmas in March....

These old kits are awesome. What part does the "pipecleaners" represent ? Those old time modelers were really talented and dedicated. If you ever have a chance look at some Model RailRoad magazines from the 1930's, through the 1940's before kits became available. Amazing stuff what they built with common discarded items. -
Scale question
Old Buckaroo replied to alangarber's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
That is prety sweet. I have never seen one of those kits. The CL-9000 is one of my favorite trucks. I have a "Titan " cab I have been converting into one during my "wait for something to dry" periods. -
What is that saying - "Can you hear me now ?"

Ford C-600 Flatbed
Old Buckaroo replied to Casey's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Casey - what is the width and height of the seat you put in ? -
This is my first completed Big Rig in 33 years. I think I read every wip about this kit here before starting it. I have several pages of notes of "quirks" by other modelers and added a few of my own. Thanks to all who followed "the assembling of plastic parts" to make this truck .

That almost sounds like a journal entry from the "Donner Party"

That car looks really cool on there backwards. Does give a nice flow to the shape. Great work putting that bench seat in there. Looks like it belongs there.
