  1. First I thought this was a "bar joke" Then I googled it - what a mess.
  2. Way back in 1991 my Wife and I was living in Battle Mtn. Nevada. The "Big Boy" was going to come through on its way to California. We both took the day off from work drove out to a secluded spot in the high dessert along the tracks and waited. Let me tell you - you could see the smoke for miles and hear it coming. When it rumbled by it was one of the most exciting things we have witnessed. It was pulling a huge freight train, shot up several rolls of film. Edit - my mistake it was not a Big Boy my wife and I saw. I dug out the photos and it was UP Locomotive 844 , a 4-8-4 locomotive pulling passenger cars. Regardless it was a sight to witness traveling the rails.
  3. That is Super super Nice combo. Thumbs up all the way. How was that trailer decal to work with ? Is it one piece or sections ? This has always been one of my favorite trucks.
  4. Wow I have to keep reminding myself this is 1/25 scale. Are the door hinges functional ? - Those are really top notch ! Very Impressive work.
  5. That bumper would be a "jackrabbit plow" for I-80 through Nevada. Looking real good there, nice work on the fenders also. I really like the turnout stacks.
  6. Very nice looking truck. As I said earlier in your build - that color combo is awesome. You have me so wanting to start on a Titan or Astro but I already have two kits in progress.
  7. That is way cool, what a Great idea. I have seen "Pup trailers" that size.
  8. I think this is pretty cool, great to see some creativity out there still. What were those old kits that use to do crazy things - Whacko's maybe ? Seems like there was a P-51 that flapped its wings. Very impressive front axle that you scratch built.
  9. I like the price of $38.95 Great news on the return of the lowboy also !
  10. Very nice, really like the "Action" pics. Weathering gives it that work look but not abused. (I cant get over how green it is there already - we still have leftover snow)
  11. The "A" 's came with round headlights and spoked wheels (Red & White scheme Box art) , The "B" version has square headlight trim and Alloy wheels (Brown & White Scheme Box art) .
  12. That is some mighty fine work ! Nice to see this rig getting a second chance. I was never aware there was both the "A" & "B" model. I had a "B" kit and always thought the only difference was the boxart like so many of the other kits. I always liked the IH coe's show palaces I thought with all that shiny stuff.
  13. This one really jumps out with class and detail. Love the oldies, cab and engine detail is spectacular. Very Nice work
  14. Bill that chassis looks great ! Is that flocking I see going on in the cab floor ? May I offer a suggestion ? Relocate your shifters towards the driver seat. None of the Brownie's I ever drove or worked on was like this. The shifters are normally in alignment with the transmission in a regular cab. I would keep the location of the shifter on the left side of passenger seat and put the other to the right of the driver seat. I dont know why AMT has them there.
  15. Wow, that looks like a pretty nice setup for the price. I am impressed that the compressor comes with the moisture trap and regulator. Airbrushes can be dodgy - most likely these are china spinoffs of a name brand. But what does not come form china anymore ? If I was starting over and saw a deal like this , I would not be afraid to buy it. Painting with a airbrush is difficult for some and others it is like a natural reaction. But you wont learn or get better without using one. As time goes by you may decide these A/B's are not up to your performance and upgrade. This seller has over 34,000 positive feedback and only 11 unhappy customers in the past 12 months. That is amazing.
  16. How cool, and the old pics are pretty awesome also. Both models look pretty nice to me.
  17. Nice 379 - Real nice Thanks for the color !
  18. Alright I am curious - What color of green did you use on the cab and what is your real truck ?
  19. Wow, you have been busy, The boxart is a great scheme for the Rio, Looks like the Freightliner didn't give you any trouble, Where did you get the Pepsi machine - that is way cool. I like them all !
  20. Yes, that is the one. Thank you for the help guys.
  21. Your winter confinement was spent well. This looks really well built, great attention to in-cab detail. I am also a fan of the paint scheme.
  22. I haven't been able to find a copy of the instructions. So is the frame suitable to cut down and install a slider with 5th wheel plate ?
  23. Does anyone remember the Magazine article many years ago on building a simulated air ride seat base ? The "Tire balancer " pedestal in the kit just does not work for me.
  24. That looks like a dern good way of doing it . I am sure many others will follow and use this idea. What two sizes of tube did you use ?
  25. This post should stay at the top all day.
