  1. This is an excellent tribute to one of my favorite pieces of literature..Completely awesome work! If you ever find a crow in 1/25 scale,it would look great on the sign post..
  2. Very Happy here.. On the 12th,I picked up a very nice resin 72 Impala to replicate my father car in the 70's,along with the metallic blue matched paint. Also a hood from Modelhaus for my Johan 70 Olds 442 to go with the rest of my parts for a conversion into a Cutlass Supreme, and a color match Gold paint..66 Linberg Chevelle(a kit I had to have twice)is the last on the list...that will be the end of my buying for awhile..
  3. PERFECT! The Dark Tower series is my favorite work of Kings..This even over his work from the 70's. I think that would fit Randal Flagg perfectly...
  4. AWESOME meeting you Andy...Best part of the show for me was hooking up with old friends.. I wish I had gotten the BMF I needed...only thing holding me back...My will to build is in overdrive right now!!!
  5. This is going to look killer...Look forward to seeing it finished.
  6. Excellent!I love the details...Really spices up that predecorated kit... Seriously though...Great work all around...
  7. Here is some thing that has been ongoing for a couple years..I work on it in bits here and there. I have always loved the early Vega body style, and when the twister was reissued,I grabbed a couple and a 70 1/2 Camaro and decided to morph them together. Here is where it is so far. I first started by chopping up the Camaro front end and hood, and grafting the pieces onto the Vega. This was done a year ago,and I only just got back on it today..Here I added a bit of the camaro flavor out back. Still a long way to go. Not sure what to do about the rear bumper. Not sure I want to put the stock one on,or just fill in the recess.
  8. I believe that you will have a great time building this, and it will lead to more...Go for it!
  9. I just got off the phone with the teacher...I only have time for 2 classes.6th graders. My plan is to bring an unstarted kit and lay out the pieces, and display it next to a built up version. I will bring some of my other builds, from hot rods,to muscle cars,to some Nascar and desert racers, and also my kids WW2 builds. I will also print out some pics from my computer to pass around from my diorama shots...Should be interesting. Thanks for the suggestions...I might even try to see if there is interest in forming a club...Who knows..
  10. My kid recently showed his tech teacher a copy of the latest Model Cars Magazine. After seeing it,the teacher sent a note home asking if I could come in an discuss the relationship between model cars and their 1:1 counterparts. The teacher is big into muscle cars and hot rods, and frequently throughout the year has local guys bring their rods into his shop to show the kids, and talk about the cars. The teacher seemed impressed with my Chevy truck. He was into it,and now Friday it looks like I am going to give a class. He actually wants me there for all his classes form 8 A.M. on,but only having one day off this week,i will only be able to do a couple. This ought to be fun.Any ideas on what kind of stuff I ought to bring or talk about? In fact, having built models as a kid,It made me want to learn more about the inner workings of cars in general.By the time I was 10 I was elbows deep in helping rebuild a couple small block Chevy's,and helping with the regular maintainance jobs like brakes and such. (No smart commentary about batteries from the peanut gallery)
  11. Rat rods? This truck struck me as the coolest build.I love everything about it. Steve H. Steves truck
  12. As for Customs,I have seen a ton of talent on this board, but this build struck me as perfect. This is one of Matt Trottas' works that shows his perfect conception and execution. Matts Truck
  13. This is a recent build by an incredibly talented builder right here on this very board.Off road vehicles seem to be an area of model building that is overlooked by most mainstream car builders. When you consider that 80+ % of these builds are scratch built,You can see why I really love seeing this guy creations.Just follow the link! King of the Desert
  14. I myself can see the talent you have...It is impossible not to see in such a great looking build.. While I am not really much into the lowriders,I do appreciate the skill it took to create such a car. I am into offroad vehicles, which is another area of building which isn't wildly popular.I build them because to me,they are the coolest.I might post one of my subjects, and get no responses, but it doesn't bother me,because I know that we all have our own tastes. A lot of times,I won't comment on a particular car or even go into a thread just because they are not in my area of interest.I am ,however, very much into old Chevrolets.Yous is an excellent example and you should be very happy with it..
  15. I don't know how I missed this thread !!!GREAT work..Really happy you went with chevy skin on it....VERY NICE!!.. For the flares, also try lollipop molls...they come in many different shapes and styles, and usually there are at least four molds to a tray..Cheap too...Here are the pop molds i used on my chevy... Before paint. And after..
  16. 2 long days and nights..
  17. You think the nose is busy now, wait till it is done,,,lol
  18. Here is something I have been playing with the past few weeks..All parts are from the parts box. 409 chevy from a Lindy 61 Impala(put a small block in the Imp) cab and nose fairing, and front frame from the 29 Revell Rat Rod...Rear frame scratched from evergreen tube. Front wheels and tires from an unknown source,Rear wheels from the Revell 66 Chevelle Malibu. "Fuel "tanks from a 1/48 scale bomber. Nose from a 1/48 scale fighter. My bench pics are rotten, but I will get some daylight shots when my newest round of paint dries..
  19. Hey Chase..I love offroad stuff.I have to ask where you got those kits..Are they box stock? Regardless,,awesome work... lol
  20. Great start..Cool truck..I love this kit, though I have yet to build mine.. I actually like 2wd trucks better, and wish mine were 2wd.I have an 89 Z-71,and love it,but don't run it in the snow anymore after having the body redone. Anyway, keep updating the progress..
  21. I am looking for an online source for BMF and Micro-sol.Does anyone know where I could find both things at one supplier? thanks!
  22. I love the top off look...Cool work...Any thoughts of painting the top black? Either way...Great looking blazer!
  23. I do not know what I like better..The fact that the car looks great,or that you are building GM material...lol Very nicely done..
  24. Here is something I started doing on my builds a couple years ago.I like detailing my chassis. This is a cheap, and easy detail. I cut the top and bottom of the stock coils and cut the spring(found at the local hardware store)to the length needed. I "screw"the metal spring onto the plastic "buckets"and size them up...Test fit them, take apart, paint and reassemble. Here,I need to thin out the larger bucket.Going to paint the spring either red or yellow..maybe blue..I hate losing the detail even if it won't be stock..lol Anyway...just a little detailing trick for anyone who might like it..
  25. sorry...double post...Still an awesome build!
