  1. I love it...i stated a projectevery similiar to this about 3 years ago,and it sits in a box waiting for some paint.. how about this for a plate? WLLY KLLR
  2. Irv.. your el camino really brings back memories. I used to walk by an old barn that sat about 30 feet from the road. The door was broken and in the barn there was a 59 just like yours(same color or VERY close)that sat up on blocks..All i could see was the drivers side and rear..I finally asked about it(and more than once after)and was told he would never part with it.It looked ALOT like your build. very nice!
  3. if i had the money,i would hire you to design cars like this..... awesome work as ussual...
  4. Another beauty Matt....PERFECT!!
  5. i really like the whole package here.. on another build,i might not like the wheel and tire combo, but you have toned them down and they are not overbearing ...They compliment the build without being distracting.. The paint and color is perfect,... the car has the aggressive look that i really like .. Very nicely done!!
  6. absolutely gorgeous build...love the paint and the stripes are perfect...excellent choice on the wheels...VERY well done.. now you only need to get your self the 1:1 version..
  7. do you do flame jobs for people.. normally i like doing my own work,no matter what, but if i was to have a certain project that i wanted done right,i would go to an expert..just curious as to what a job like this would cost...
  8. very nice grafting work.. i am looking forward to each new pic of this build.. looks like you rounded the front corners to match the concept pic...looking great! really cannot wait to see this in primer.. are you going with a t top or full roof.. i hope if you do go t top version, that you are able to lay the tops as flush as possible to the roofline... also, any idea on paint..?will you be painting it like the concept pic? i am hoping you go that way,but am sure it will look great no matter what you decide..
  9. i love builds like this that tell a story.. i love every detail of your work...
  10. some progress.. I shortened the front track after shooting these pics...still rough, but getting closer to rolling chassis..
  11. this is a very nice piece of work.. A friend of mine had one back in the early 80's...we had alot of fun in that car...you build brought back some great memories..
  12. You have to bring this to life....if they make this car in 1:1,it will sell huge.. Your concept pic is what a new muscle car should look like . I like what your doing!!
  13. great discussion... I dont know anything about vw's,but i know what i like.. really look forward to more progress on your build Doug
  14. I am not into customs for the most part, but this build is very sharp....I would tool around in a car like that...NICE work!!
  15. Beautiful work on all 3....i love them all...any chance of seeing more of these three?
  16. you cant go wrong with a gold olds 442...i love these cars...from 68-72,the 69-71 were my favorites...looks great and keep pics comming..
  17. Hey zebm1,are you in for sa surprize...lol This thing is going to be COOL! i love it...i never liked this car until i saw it built like your doing it...I am really looking forward to seeing more progress on this one..
  18. Oh man Beach,,,your ride Rocks!! Thanks for the pics and i will take anymore you want to send... dragon0287@hotmail.com I bet you cant wait to get it out after a break in and have some fun... I have my chevy in the garage and have been just cleaning and painting components...waiting till the spring to buy the engine and a few other goodies...its killing me not to drive it.. Anyway, you ever think of building a scale model of your truck? if so,let me know and i may be able to hook you up with parts.. Also, there is a site i go to specifically for off road vehicles if your interested...
  19. Well,it wasnt the fastest or best performer, but for my money i would have bought this car,,,i just loved the styling and it had enough power for me and there were some decent factory options available too...One from the OLDS camp..
  20. That is a Beautiful machine...I would love the chance to take that out on a course and see what i could do..I am sure i would come back battered and bruised, but it would be fun getting there..lol Thanks for the pics...i sent you an er mail and it came back,so i dont know if it was you or me..lol Anyway, this is exactly the type of project i want to do for my next race truck...i love it!!!
  21. A friend and fellow builder casted a very nice i beam set up and sent on to me,,,i hope to have it under a ford ranger at some point in the future..I used to be able to watch Trucks on tv,and they put a cool i beam set up on a ranger and got a wicked amount of wheel travel...I liked watching that show... Anyway, after this build,i hope to build a real race truck, and stick closer to real life components. Some of the parts can be a bear to work with, but i only work on it when i have the patience to... This is where my chevy was at this stage.. and here is where it finished off.. I hope these two will look cool running next to eachother...will update in the near future....My next step is to get the shocks completed and mounted so that i have a rolling chassis..To be continued..
  22. I got some bench time today and got my front end(minus steering linkage)done...brake rotors and wheels are nearly complete.I will get about 18 inches of travel at the front wheels and need to trim away more fender for full turn on the wheels. pic one is ride height and pic two is near full down traved...wheels positionable... its still in the ugly stages.. the front end geometry is the hard part, and now that i have it figured out and in place, hopefully the rest will go smoothly..need to open up the upper arms for the shocks to go through, and then i will make the upper and lower mounts..the rear trailing arm assembly is done, tho not shown here...
  23. Doug forget the mud?? his middle name is mud! lol awesome work as ussual Mud...lol
  24. Steve,i have said it often, your Rat 29 is my favorite build....i LOVe this truck...
  25. Here is one i have...i have 2 more on the bench..
