  1. I'm finally going to build my Volksrod. I'm starting with this partial kit. Parts are missing. It says it's made by Mr Hobby, but it is exactly like a Gunze Sangyo kit. I started by removing all of the fenders and running boards. This labor intensive job took almost a full football game to do.
  2. Ace Hardware stores 20% off, bag sale is this Saturday Nov. 6th. Great time to stock up on brass and aluminum rods, tubes, and sheets. Need pin vice or a jeweler's saw? Ace is the place.
  3. Rest in peace, hell. Let them roil in eternal torment, until they rise again and spread horse power throughout the land.
  4. Some Covettes from the past, mounted the lights further back on a flat panel and covered them with body shaped clear Plexiglas like a Chaparral 2.
  5. Cut sprue into little bits and melt them into liquid cement. That makes a gooey putty that is identical to the original plastic and will weld the parts together while filling in the gaps.
  6. I saw this photo today. The Hemi was outlawed from NASCAR for the '65 season.
  7. Use something with ammonia in it to remove Future, like a good window cleaner. The bottle says 1/2 cup ammonia to 1/2 gallon of water.
  8. Ah yes, great memories. Plenty of room for a V-8 and the turbo dif will take it. Make it an '82 like mine. Paint the stainless B pillars black (factory), add headlight covers, paint the bumpers body color and run the black stripe around the face (factory), and add a Z-28 style rear spoiler. Oh that's me, my son, wife, and 'ol blue at a BMW Club ice trial in '86. I took 1st in the over 2.5 liter rear wheel drive class.
  9. All right, all right. It is a conspiracy. Now let's move on.
  10. You should consider a metal kit. Some parts snap, some parts need to be screwed (a new skill set?), you can detail paint them, and maybe best of all, it can be played with. It also might be a thrill if you take him shopping and let him pick it out.
  11. What happened to the import drag thread?
  12. Another nice clean Ferrari. I started out modeling street Ferraris. I have over 40 of them. All of them red. Now I haven't built one is several years. Keep it up. Love to see them.
  13. Nice clean build Felix.

    I like that. Nicely done.
  15. Cameros aren't any luckier. answer
  16. My entry into the import drags is a 1987 Ferrari F-40. Because of all the added equipment and aluminum floor, weight has increased almost 200 lbs to 2,625 lbs. The engine produces 2,650 rwh. Some of the highlights are: 1. All aluminum 815 cubic inch dry sump block. It contains many titanium parts and housings. 2. Aluminum Ford Boss Nine style hemi heads by Kasse. 3. Twin 100 mm computer controlled turbos that blow 34 lbs of pressure. 4. Magnesium cross-ram intake manifold. 5. Two injectors per cylinder. One in the intake runner and one sprays directly into the cylinder, ala a sprint car engine. 6. Reverse-flow cooling with inline electric water pumps. 7. Crank-triggered adjustable computer controlled ignition with individual coils. 8. Computer controlled compressed CO2 cooled inter-coolers and radiators. 9. Ferrari based computer controlled, auto shifting, three-speed transaxel allows wider/stronger gears. This has the latest F- 1 software which allows gear shifts in 40 miliseconds. It also has launch control which can be turned off. 10. Computer controlled six disc clutch. 11. Titanium roll-cage and frame rails. 12. 4 inch Titanium tube axles with sliding trunnions replace the stock axles and CV joints. 13. GM licensed Magnetic Fluid Shocks in the rear, which have three settings. One is a 98% lock up at 1/2 throttle opening, manual 98% lock, and computer controlled. The Boss 429 engine came from the AMT '69 Cougar XR-7 street machine. The F-40 is from Italeri. The rear suspension is extremely modified to fit the Pro Mod slicks. The intake manifold, turbos, and exhaust are made from solder. The car is wired.
  17. This is the car Petty was supposed to drive in'65. Unfortunately, it wasn't finished in time and Petty rushed to build the 'Cuda.
  18. I love all you builds. I learn so much from them. Thanks for explaining the snake skin. I've wanted to do that, but had no idea how.
  19. Any of the Revell VW Beetles are flash monsters.
  20. Time to finish this. Who wants to race?
  21. Red headlights are illegal everywhere.
  22. Did some interior work.
  23. I like Harry's version of #1. I would never buy any shirt with the "machine wash". The louvers on the back is a good idea if you have the logo on the front. Personally I don't want/buy anything on the front, only the logo on the back. That's the way it was. On the back.
  24. Thanks Jim. That's the place. All my old links (even the links on this site)and a search kept getting that die-cast site.
