What happened to (the old) R & D Unique? My links show a die-cast site now, not the cool parts and trans-kit site. Anyone have a link for the old style parts site?

LED season is back. I was at Menards, a home improvement center, today and the LED Xmas replacement bulbs are back in stock. These are the bulbs I used in my builds. These are cool because they come with their own resistor so I think you could use them anywhere without an additional resistor. I didn't use the attached resistor, but it's there. They come in white, red, blue, green, yellow, and orange. They cost $1.19 or $1.49 for a pack of three depending on color. I have now restocked my stash. I had sold all my bulbs and some 4060 chips to other modelers. So look around and see what's available near you.

Forgot to post here. A lot of work has been done. 1. All aluminum 815 cubic inch dry sump block. It contains many titanium parts and housings. 2. Aluminum Ford Boss 9 style hemi heads by Kasse. 3. Twin 100 mm computer controlled turbos that blow 34 lbs of pressure. 4. Magnesium cross-ram intake manifold. 5. Two injectors per cylinder. One in the intake runner and one sprays directly into the cylinder, ala a sprint car engine. 6. Reverse-flow cooling with inline electric water pumps. 7. Crank-triggered adjustable computer controlled ignition with individual coils. 8. Computer controlled compressed CO2 cooled inter-coolers and radiators. 9. Ferrari based computer controlled, auto shifting, three-speed transaxel allows wider/stronger gears. This has the latest F-1 software which allows gear shifts in 40 milliseconds. It also has launch control which can be turned off. 10. Computer controlled six disc clutch.

This was a Johan curbside kit. It has no engine. The curbside kit does include the decals which the full kit doesn't. However the letters in the names are scrambled and you have to un-scramble them.

1963 Chrysler Turbine car. Ghia, in Italy, made 55 of these bodies that were shipped to Chrysler USA to have their third generation turbine engine, Torque-Flite three speed automatic transmission (less torque converter), and the rest of the drive train installed. All were painted Turbine Bronze metallic except for two white prototypes. One of these two stared in the 1964 movie, The Lively Set. The turbine made 130 HP @ 3,600rpm and 425 lb-ft @ 0 output shaft rpm Chrysler lent 50 of these cars to 203 families for three month evaluations. Because these bodies were made in Italy, there was an import duty tax due on them. After the evaluation period, Chrysler felt the cars were no longer needed and refused to pay the tax. In 1967, the Federal Government made Chrysler crush 46 of 55 the cars. This particular white one starred in the 1964 movie about racing, The Lively Set, staring James Darren and Doug McClure.

It is most likely a Glasspar G-2. Very slight chance that it's a Woodill Wildfire type I. Both bodies were built by Bill Tritt. -
The place I'm thinking about had the Uncertain T, several kinds of turbos, and Mazda Wankel engines. Is the Parts Box under new management?
-
is it the Parts box that makes the kit? I couldn't find it on their site?

From time to time I have seen a resin caster that makes an Uncertain T. Now that I want to find him, I can't. Can anyone please help?

I have been using plumber's epoxy for quite awhile now. I get it at home improvement centers. It's about $6 for a stick almost 8" long. It is two parts, but one is inside the other. Just cut off a chunk, knead it up, in about 30 minutes it's as hard as a rock. I've used it to glue things together, make molds, fill gaps, make spoilers and wheel flares, as body putty, and to plug a hole in my sister's car's oil pan.

I thought of making a LSR like this several years ago. -
I live in Brookfield and don't belong to any club. I have attended a couple AMG meetings several years ago. Their NNL event is about two weeks from now and only about two miles from my house. I know they have a club competition. Come and see who these clubs are. "The Auto Modelers Group of Milwaukee WI would like to invite all to attend our NNL style show on April 10, 2010. The show will run from 3 to 9 pm at the Excellence Center, N4W22000 Bluemound Rd., Waukesha. (same location as last year) This years theme is "Back to the '50's", vehicles 1963 and older featuring traditional rods and customs. Sub-theme is 18 wheelers. We usually get close to 700 models on display of all types and sizes."

AMT made a 1957 Ford Fairlane 500. If you can't find one, I've got one you could buy.

Low and smooth. Very interesting and well done.

I use Dullcote or various flat and semi-flat clears.

Fender clearance issue.

Gently heat the fender and push it out with the backside of a spoon. -
Working with my Mach 5 got me interested in electronic parts availability. A great supplier was recommended to me. Jameco Electronics 1355 Shoreway Rd Belmont, Ca 94002 1-800-831-4242 Their web site is just what you would think it is. Amongst some electronic things I bought, I also got: 100 foot spool of flat black 30 gauge wrapping (ignition) wire (#22577) for $6.95 10 feet of 0.118"/3mm heat shrink tubing (roll bar padding) (#644834) for $1.95 10 feet of 60 conductor ribbon wire (Gilmer/cog belts, thanks for the idea idogg) (#644199) for $9.95 and 32oz ferric chloride etching solution for $24.94 So many ideas, so little time.

any decal guys here?
wisdonm replied to Nick Winter's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
You can get white ink jet decal paper. The biggest problem with using white decal paper is that you have to physically trim every decal. This can be hard with small shapes and nearly impossible with small letters. Another problem there is if there isn't a colored outline around your white shape or letters, you don't know where to cut. Consider using white press type letters. -
I would try it back in the text mode. I never change mine to print decals.
-
Sure would. Beats using candy wrappers.
