  1. John... this chassis is off the hook Brother!! I love the weathered look on the chassis. Did you spray it with OSH flat black first? and then what did you use for the weathering? I do have to say that my favorite thing about the chassis is the yellow Air tank. I think it looks killer with all of the decals on it and love how it stands out. And I am picking your brain with the chassis because of my '32 Rad Rod project i started before the Army F/C, I want to go for that weathered look on the chassis like you have here. Looking forward to more updates Brother
  2. Nice work on this one. Going to be a great build!
  3. looking good. Got any bigger pictures of the pink bug?? I am digging what I can see of the engine so far. Would love to see more of that engine.
  4. Ok Fellas.... I got some more done to the interior of this build. I have pretty much finished the door panels and all that is needed is a final sanding of the primer before I lay color down. Here is a few pics of the progress.... Passenger Door Panel: Driver Door Panel: Dash: Dash with Seat and Parts by Parks Aluminum Steering Column:
  5. Dave... Nice work on your frame. I like how you moved the leaf springs in to get it lowered. Since this is a curbside build I am doing I decided to leave the rear end out from my first go around. I had it it in the first frame before I messed that one up lol
  6. Darryl... Nice work bud! That chassis is looking great. Keep up the great work.
  7. John... Those tail lights look great. I love them
  8. Oh Johnny.... You done painting this beauty yet? ...haha . I gotta give you a hard time brother. Everything mocked up looks great and I am looking forward to more. Carry on!
  9. I also got to say this.... I love #5 because of how the white follows the body lines of the car.
  10. Norbert... Wow this one is just Bad A$$!! I love the stance and the whole look of this build. Nice work man
  11. Hey Steve...Thanks I am glad this build can be an inspiration and to answer you question on the soldering of the brass work. I have a Weller pencil iron I got at home depot for around 20 bucks and I use some rosen core solder for it. I recently picked up some flux to use the next go around since I didn't have any before. I am not sure on the wattage on this iron but I can take some pics of it if you would like and I will find out more specs on it. I have been wanting to also pick up one of those mini butane torches to see how well that would work on some pieces. When I do solder the brass tube to brass tube I would have to lay the Solder irons tip on it for a few to heat it up before the solder would heat up and join the pieces. Ray... Thanks man.... I am sure there is more detail work that can be done but I think I would go nut...lol ....wait i actually may be nuts with what I have done to this thing so far Little update.... I actually haven't touched this is 2 days. I needed a little break from it and have been tinkering on my '57 chevy pick up curbside project. I will be getting back to the funny car today. sanding a few pieces and getting the frame ready for some paint, which I am planning on painting next week . I can't tell you how long I have been waiting to see this chassis in paint and I am super stoked about it. I hope to have some more updates later this evening for everyone.
  12. I have to agree with this. The more I look at the different designs the more I like #5. I am digging it.
  13. Hey Scott... here are the pics that I mentioned I would get you. Here is the hood pins from S&S Specialties in 1/24th scale: Here is the two different brand of medical tape that I have: on the Left is the Johnson & Johnson and on the right is the 3M:
  14. Wow... Very Impressive... Those seats looks great!! Nice work
  15. I have no clue what it is but that it looks expensive...
  16. Anne... Nice work. Nothing looks like wood other than using actual wood. Very nice and impressive work.
  17. I know that Charlie at Pro Tech has some barrel valves that aren't the "K" Style type. The Barrel valves that feed the distribution blocks could be hard line or braided line. As Bill mentioned would probably be -6 or -8 lines. IF you are talking about the Fuel Distribution blocks that the hard lines come from that go into the manifold and Injector hat ports, You are looking at 1/4" hard line.
  18. that 6 Wheel Caddy/Vette... looks pretty sweet
  19. Hello All... I got some bench time on this build today. Here is the chassis that I had to redo. I was trying to straighten the chassis with a hair dryer and I warped it way to much with the heat. So I had to start all over and redo it: This is to show where it was warped and I wasn't able to put the interior bucket into the mounting holes: I worked on the seat, sanding bondo and shooting primer and now it needs a light sand and is ready for paint: Then I worked on redoing the door panel: Here is a quick coat of primer to see where I need to fix the panel and it needs a little work but I think the look I am going for is turning out ok:
  20. Jonathan... This build is coming along well and is looking great.
  21. Danny.. Now that I see #5 it's a toss up between that one and number 1. Both look killer.
  22. John.... Very nice hinge work my brother. This is looking good!! Almost time for some primer and paint
  23. Danno... Yep I know you aren't the rivet counting type ...I have to tease you back since well I missed having this done by DSC...lol
