  1. Niko... You are making great progress on this. I am really digging the direction you are going with this build. Keep up the great work.
  2. This build is looking great and I love the pic of the truck you posted with the scallops. I have to agree with Richard on making the scallops weathered. I think that would look killer. Nice job so far.
  3. Richard.... thanks i have to agree that the more i look at the mexican blanket. The better i think it gpes with this build. I have an idea on how I am gonna make it just hope it works like I would like it too lol
  4. Dave.... thanks man. no pressure at all...lol you dont know how bad I want to complete this build. I will be pushing myself on it now that I can start the rolling chassis
  5. Niko... thanks buddy. You don't know how good it feels to finally have some paint on the chassis. i will get to take a better look at the chassis and examune it a little better today since I left it alone overnight in my garage. I am hoping the clear looks ok in a few areas. Tube chassis are are a little more tricky to clear than just a normal body lol. But I was happy with what I saw yeaterday.
  6. Brad... thanks buddy.you know I have to agree with you on the seat cover material loks nice but I am gonna try and make a mexican blanket because I think it will fit the build better.. I actually picked up some material at walmart yesterday to make this mexican blanket. Bill.... thank you sir
  7. Aaron.... thanks buddy. I would like to partly get the rolling chassis together bit was thi king of jumping back to the body and body tin work. I also wamt to jump back on the motor...lol. the body i still need to cut the escPe hatch out as well as make the air damns ober the front tires. To get the rolling chassis going I need to now Alclad the front axle then i canpretryvmuch permentanly mount the rear end and front axle bit teying to think if there is anyhing else i need do before that. Danno.... thanks buddy!!
  8. Joe all three ideas for 1/16th scale sound awesome. I love the Comp Dragster idea. I have been wanting to do either a Super Comp or Top Dragster myself because I love the looks of those dragster and watching them race. They are on my list but a ways down to get too lol
  9. Steve... Thanks bud... I used HOK black base along with PPG 20/20 urethane clear. I am so happy to finally have this chassis painted. Now I can get more of the rolling chassis done.
  10. Joe... Sad to hear you need to get rid of this build but very excited to see what this next 1/16th scale build will be
  11. Ok Fellas... So today was the day and I did get to spray some color on the chassis this morning. Just haven't had time to post them til now. I started around 7 am and probably sprayed until 11/11:30. I am happy it is over and now the parts have been sitting in my garage which is around 95/100 at the moment LOL. Ok I will stop teasing and post some pics.... Here is the first couple of coats on the front axle and parts: Here I think was the 2nd coat of HOK black base on the chassis, don't mind the chevelle body in the back ground. its an extra body I always test paint on and probably had like and 1/8" thick layer of paint on it...lol : Another shot of the chassis with more base on it: Here is the front pieces with my PPG Concept 20/20 urethane clear on it. I believe I sprayed 3 coats maybe 4 though: Here is the chassis cleared with 4 coats of clear, sorry the pic isn't that good because of the sunlight. I will get better pics of it later when I have it of the paint stand:
  12. Danno... I couldn't wait to get paint on it today.... Aaron... I promise no more teasing. I have pics to show Brad... I have been waiting for this day for quite some time now and feels great it finally got here. Great quote Scott... Thank you sir Rom.... How the heck are you buddy?? It's great to see you back on here. I have been wondering where you have been and how you were doing. I am looking forward to seeing you back on some of your builds. Dave... Thanks man... You are right that it can be a nerve racking moment with the build. I had a few close calls today.. Larry... Thanks man... Yeah I had to figure out how I was going to hold the chassis. when I primered it, I just used used wire that I wrapped around bolts that went into where the axle mounted. well every time I sprayed primer it wanted to swing on me so I came up with a simple idea to hold it in place .
  13. Mark... Nice work on the interior, It looks great. Body looks good in base. looking forward to more.
  14. Mark.. Outstanding work. The Tin work looks killer!!
  15. John... Outstanding work my friend. I love the Organic Green on the dash and steering wheel. I can not wait to see the body in color. This whole build is just amazing. Nice work Brother!!
  16. Dave... Thanks buddy. Yeah its nice to have a few different subjects going at a time and nice to have a break and something else to work on. Ok Fellas..... Tomorrow is D-Day..... I have gotten the chassis parts all sanded and prepped to be painted. This is a big milestone on this project for me and can't wait to have it done. Here is the sand I made tonight to hold the chassis while I paint it tomorrow: Here is the Chassis and Chassis Painting stand made just for this build: Here are the other chassis parts:
  17. Hello All.... Got a little work done to the seat this morning. Got the decals put on for the seat material and here it is.... was still debating if I should try to make a mexican blanket like the one in the original truck as well as adding more of the Giraffe print on the bottom side of the seat....
  18. Joe.... It's great to hear your hand is almost 100% recovered. Also glad to see you back at the bench. This is gonna be a stellar build. Would love to see you get around to another 1/16th scale build . Looking forward to updates on this one.
  19. Mark...nice work on this so far. I love these 1/43 Provence Moulage kits. I have a couple I want to build after my funny car project. They are a blast to build.

Joe.... thanks buddy. Glad to see you back on here. How's the healing of the hand. I can't wait to see you back on a build. Especially another pro mod. Well fellas little update fpr you.... i caught some stomach bug and have been laid up on the couch all day. Hoping I will feel much better tomorrow so I can finish sanding parts and paint stuff on wednesday.
  21. Scott... thanks man!! Its getting there.... little by little.... but hoping tomorrow is the day I get paint on the chassis
  22. Niko.... Thanks buddy.... I have been having to cut 6" long strips of paper about 1/16th to 1/8th of an inch wide. sanding each piece of tubing. Its making me go bonkers...lol But I know it will give a better surface for the paint to lay down. I can't wait to have this chassis painted
  23. Well Fellas... wanted to give a little update on this project. I have gotten the seat painted as well as the oil filters and now I need to get decals on the oil filters. It feels like the past few days all I have been doing is spending hours sanding the chassis with 1000 grit paper getting it ready for paint. I have just a little more to do and should hopefully be ready for paint tomorrow.....crossing my fingers Anyway here is a quick shot of the seat painted.... Here is the Seat and oil filters painted:
