  1. Hey everyone.... Thanks for the kind comments and I am excited to see the site back up. I am gonna have a pretty cool update for you tomorrow was hoping to today but decided to take a road trip to Sedona, Az today.... Stay tuned...
  2. Bill.... Incredible work my friend. You are always blowing me away with your craftsmanship. Beautiful work!
  3. Larry... Thank you man. I am digging how its turning out so far. James... Thank you very much. Mike... Thanks for posting that pic. I am gonna try to get that printed out and install on this dash. Andy... Thanks man. Actually you are going to laugh, I didn't use any glue on the blanket. The blanket was put together using Tamiya tape. I laid the sticky side up and put the thread down on that. Ok guys I had these pics to post yesterday but was having issues with the site and google chrome and today posting off my iPad. I got the door handles installed as well as the seat belts. Here they are: Passenger door: Driver door: Seat belts:
  4. I have to agree with fatkid as well. All of my HOK paints that I spray I use the RU reducer lines and the mixture is 2:1, 2 parts paint to 1 part reducer. I am not famiar with the HA reducers or even kustom kolors
  5. Very cool and thanks for sharing this tip. It looks killer. Nice work
  6. Hey Mike.... you got some great shots at this race. Thanks for Sharing with the rest of us.
  7. This is a great looking build and it's Killer. Nice work on this one.
  8. Art... You should know I love your work Brother!!
  9. John Pol... thank you! are you talking about the knobs that are on the dash?? those knobs are actually little nails that came with some Micro Marks brass hinges that I picked up they were the perfect size Edward.... Thank you! Bill... thanks very much man, I appreciate it. Ok guys... So I got a little more done to this. The dash is pretty much done other than I would like to add a set of gages under the dash. The one thing I am not happy with is the speedometer. the molding of the numbers wasn't very great in this kit. I tried dry brushing them the best I could and didn't turn out like I would like. I am really thinking of taking the pic of that speedo that was posted a page or 2 back and seeing if I can scale it down and print it out to fit in the dash and glue it in place. I also got the fuel tank painted and glued in place. I will be getting the door handle and window cranks on a little later today. here are the pics Here is the Dash, and as I mention I really hate how the speedo turned out. I need to do something to fix it... : Here is the fuel tank, which probably won't be seen when the seat is glued in... ;
  10. Hey Ray... I am sorry to hear about your wife having to have surgery. I am glad to hear that she is doing well and will be praying for a speedy and full recovery. I don't blame you one bit about resigning, family is the most important thing in life. I agree with John, come back when you can and in the mean time take great care of you wife which we know you will.
  11. Dale... Awesome build man. I will be following this one for sure. The body is looking great and I am sure it's a lot of work to cut up but will be well worth it in the end. keep up the great work
  12. Joe... Thanks buddy. I won't lie... I looked at your '57 Pro Mod build first cause I remember you made some and then I also used some pics off a website that we used to get V-Band clamps from when I worked at an aerospace company. I can't wait for you to start another 1/16th scale build. Have you figured out what you are gonna do?? Well Fellas... I broke out the air brush this morning and painted a few parts so I can finish up this rear end and get it permanently mounted to the chassis. I painted the couplings, drive saft and Drive shaft. I am happy with the results I got today. here are a couple pics of the work... Here is the mounting plate that will be glued to the rear end. I sprayed it HOK BC02 orion silver base. The drive shaft cover was a custom mixed HOK color, I started out with mixing BC02 orion Silver base and reducing enough in my 1/4 oz spray cup and added 10 drops of HOK black base to tint the silver and make it a darker shade so it would look like steel: I then painted the drive shaft and Couplings. The drive shaft is the same custom mixed HOK color and the couplings were painted with Tamiya's X-32 Titanium silver:
  13. Chuck... I am sure these are killer... just like all of your other work
  14. I say you did a killer job, especially with scratch building the interior. This is motivating me to pull out one of my 1/43rd kits and get started on it in the midst of my 2 other current builds...lol
  15. Wayne.... Thanks Bud.... Umm not sure but you may of said wow Ok Fellas.... little bit of an early evening update. I have made more progress on this darn drive shaft cover. I was able to lower the pinion location on the rear end a little more and I got the flange side made for the transmissions end for the cover. I first went back and drilled the hole for the coupling just a tad but lower every 1/32 to 1/16 helps : After Bob mentioned to me that I had a bolt that wasn't straight because I some how didn't see that last night .... I went back and redrilled all of the mounting holes and then filled the old ones with some plastic rod: I then figured out how I was going to create the flange on the transmission side that the Drive shaft would attach to as well as the V-Band Clamp: Then you know me I had to test fit and mock everything up: Now I can shoot some primer on these parts so I can add some paint to them tomorrow and then time to figure out what to work on next. So stay tuned till next time . If I am lucky I will have some more to post later but no promises....
  16. Mark... Very nice and looks great. was this a Starter or Provence Moulage Kit?
  17. Tony... Thank you very much. Dave.... Thanks buddy. Bob.. Thanks and I appreciate you pointing that out. I was tired last night when I worked on this and didn't pay attention to that. I will be fixing this issue tonight.
  18. Jason.... thanks man. I have to agree with you that after I did the blanket... I like it way better than the animal print I had on the seat. I feel it fits the truck so much better. It took me a couple of tries to get this one correct and that I was happy with. Curt.... Thank you so much for the kind words. You know its not very hart to do the blanket, I think that it is just more time consuming that anything. Well Guys.... I haven't done to much more to this lately other than I got a little more work done on the dash. I am gonna try and spend a little time on this one today hopefully. I know I have been focusing more on the 1/16th Scale F/C but am itching to make some more progress on this Pick Up. Stay tuned and I will have some updates hopefully shortly.
  19. Art... this project is looking great Brother!! Loving the progress and I know it will be another Killer build by you!!
  20. Bill.... this is absolutely awesome Bud!!. I love the brass trunk you did. Your metal work is so nice. I sure have missed seeing updates on this and glad to see you are getting some bench time.
  21. Larry... Thanks man... I sure hope so. Hoping to have some more updates for everyone later.
  22. Bill... Very nice build. This looks great. Totally cool build.
  23. Bernard...you are off to a great start on this and I am looking forward to seeing progress on this. It's looking good so far.
  24. So I worked a little more on this tonight and got a couple things done but not everything I wanted to. I worked more on the drive shaft guard and started on redoing the pinion location on the rear end. Here is the Guard that will be going over the drive shaft. I started by making two flanges. Once which is attached to the guard and the other that will get attached to the rear end. I drilled 4 mounting holes in both that the scale hardware will go thru to mount them. I still need to work on the flange that I was going to add to the transmission side: Here is an up close shot of the flanges bolted together: Now here is what the flanges will look like up against the rear end: Then I decided to fill the hole I originally drilled for the couplers because I will re drill the hole just a tad bit lower to help with the drive shaft angle and I will be good to go:
