thanks man
for the dash I spray painted the gauge area aluminum, masked it off then sprayed the rest black followed by semi-gloss clear
then added some black washing on the sluminum area.
the window cranks are molded on the door panels, I just painted them chrome silver.
for the flocking I use "embossing powder" its a super fine metal dust. it works better then flocking IMO, and I can paint it any color I want.
I put it on the same as normal flocking with white glue.
thanks guys!
I want to use the stock rims in the kit, but they are not very good, they have some molding problems on the edges, im gonna try and fix it, if they dont turn out I'm gonna put some steelies on it 8)
haven’t made a 50's car in a long time, so I decided to pick up this AMT kit.
heres the paint scheme i came up with,
its Krylon "buttercream" and white
the first pic shows the actual color pretty close.
also I had to make new "ridges" on the tops of the front fenders, it seems one side of the fender was higher then the other. i think they turned out pretty good
I don’t normally build planes, but I need a break from cars so I picked up this kit.
Its Tamiya's 1/72 scale P-47D Thunderbolt
I know its not a car, but I used the weathering skills I learned from my car models to make it... just goes to show how you can use the same techniques on any kind of model
heres the cockpit next to a nickle so you can see the kinda size it is
I got this AMT kit from a thrift shop for only 5 bucks. it was missing some parts, and I had to strip the paint off it, but I thought I could make it into a nice curbside build
this is how it turned out, I painted it "Sun Yellow"
I like these kinda old workin trucks.
this is AMT's 57 chevy stepside.
plan is a faded red pantjob, white bumbers, some weathering some junk in the back etc..
