  8. I have most of the rust added now. just some fine tuning to do. next i can add in some streaking and stuff
  9. body color on, and the deep rust showing. next I'll add in more surface rust by stippling it on with an old brush then add pastels chalks and whatnot. i gotta add the rest of the chrome side trim first though
  10. a little work on the body i go the basic rust color applied. I'll add a few other shades in areas still. then i can cover it in salt and spray on the actual color of the car. which im thinking a dark green or blue.
  11. thanks guys I noticed it has many holes on the top sides of the front fenders so i added a couple there. rest of the body will be just surface rust.
  12. bit of engine work
  13. a start on the body. the look I'm after is the car will have its "original" paint with surface rust etc. then some spots will be primer and others will have bare metal showing. so it looks like someone is doin body work on it in the garage or something. so heres the first steps. added a few rusted through spots. and some BMF where i want bare metal the bmf is sanded to give random look like sheet metal and also the edges of the BMF are sanded in flush with the rest of the body. all for now my BMF sheet is all wrinkly or i would have had more done lol
  14. started this one the other day a bit of work on the chassis so far some ref pics. get an idea of the weathering
  15. Just a quick fictional build using some left over decals.
  16. thanks! heres a closer view of the wheels
  17. Finished this one today. I built the #63 since it has the Canadian driver Paint is Krylon sun yellow, for clear coat I airbrushed on 3 coats of future floor polish. Wheels were painted tamiya flat aluminum. I also used some scrap PE parts I had laying around, the antennas are stretched sprue and the Naca ducts on the vent windows are decals from Powerslide. Overall the kit is good, but the detail is really simplified on the engine and interior so I didn't bother to much with those lol. also my body was warped a bit , that went away when I glued it to the chassis but then I found the hood would not sit flush on the straight body so I ended up gluing it on

    Rat Rod

    finished this one tonight
  19. used the oil tank from a revell chopper BMF'd it and weathered it up . and stuck on a battery I find you need to use pastel over a flat paint
  20. thanks, ive added more white chalk on the body paint now also to blend it more and give a faded look , and yes some black pastel dustin on the seat and around the seams tonight i painted the frame. not sure what to use for headlights. i'll have to get a 32 ford kit i guess cause the lights in the kit suck hard lol
  21. for the main rust i use red primer. then dab on brown and red craft paint. dabbing gives it a texture. then add pastels over it for different shades.
  22. some more painting
