  1. Well then, I might just have gave you an idea with the LEDs under the tailgate then! I know I've been wanting to find one I seen on another truck in my area for my big toy that would mount right in the space under your tailgate that works as taillights and brake lights, plus has amber LEDs for turn signals. All you'd be missing is backup lights!
  2. I'm using Testor's Model Master Leather in my truck along with a lighter tan and semi gloss black on some of the details, I don't think it looks too bad with the body color. If you want to see a pic or two, let me know. I don't want to overrun your build with pics of mine!
  3. This is just a guess, but there is one very similar in the Revell of Germany Peterbilt 359 kits.
  4. Very nice, Kyle, and some nice old kits as well. Some of those kits might just be older than you!
  5. I don't think "Hookd on foniks" worked for him!
  6. Yep, the engine in the Superliner is a Cummapart, just like every other Italeri kit except the Peterbilts, which have Detroit Series 60s. As for size, though, I'm not sure, either.
  7. I just watched "Maximum Overdrive" last night! I'm surprised there has not been more added in here from that movie, since most of the movie was in a truck stop. Here's just a few of them I thought about while watching it last night. Mack Cruiseliner Autocar tractor that was pulling the trash wagon International Transtar cabover with the "BIC" trailer Mack R model and tanker There were so many during the refueling scenes, I can't remember them all! Even though it's not actually a truck, what about the Cat dozer, too?
  8. I always thought ain't ain't a word!
  9. Pat, I normally don't like trucks like this (sorry, I think trucks are for working ), but I must say I think you spiked the "COOL" meter! I'm guessing you have LEDs in back for taillights under the tailgate, right? As for color, have you thought just pounding out the dent in the passenger fender and leaving it the way it is? That color just seems to fit the truck, and looks great as is!
  10. Very nice job on the General and nice start to the trailer.
  11. TJ, I like them all, but I have to say this one is my favorite! It's old time Mack meets modern day CXT, and just downright COOL!
  12. I've seen a few builders use the wheels from Revell's Peterbilt 359 and fit the rubber band tires found in some of the newer style kits over them. If you have a Michael's store nearby, I've seen the Pete kit at my local Michael's for about $25, and if you print out the 40% off coupon, you could pick it up for a little over $12, plus your areas local sales taxes, of course.
  13. I'd say the best thing to do first is try to find this kit. I'm not sure what modifications you'd have to make to make it a 1.5 ton, but it should give you a good base to start.
  14. Very nice, Terry! Are you planning on restoring them?
  15. I agree, very nice job. That looks just as good as the one in my Fujimi Garage and Tools kit.
  16. And if you'd ever like to get rid of the Pontiac one, let me know!
  17. I'm understanding what you mean now, Daniel. Since there was not much to the rear springs in the real cars, you should not see very much of the spring below the rear quarter panel. I assume maybe the diecast casting must have just gotten a little "chunky" in the rear spring area. If it's just a slight bit of the spring showing, I'd just leave it be, because that would be prototypically correct. It doesn't show very well in your picture, and not much better in these, but there should be just a slight piece of the spring showing. The white one is Revell's 78 Trans Am and the blue is a 1/24 Johnny Lightning 70 Trans Am diecast. As you can see, especially with the Revell kit, there is a slight amount of spring that does hang down below the quarter panel. That is also how my 1:1 79 Firebird was, and that is mainly because the springs mount below the axle. If there is more than that showing of your spring, I'd try to sand it down to just around the quarter panel, but if it's slight, like I said, I'd leave it be. Also, as far as I know, since the Type K was just a concept, I would guess GM just used the existing Trans Am platform, so I don't think they would have had coil springs. The Trans Am did not have coil springs until the third generation cars came out in 1982.
  18. That is a great color, isn't it!? I've also seen some red and gold in it in sunliight, and pictures don't do this color justice. I'm not trying to hijack your thread, I just thought you'd me like to see my current project using the same color. I can't wait to see the Lambo finished, you picked a perfect color for it.
  19. What areas did you see that in? I had a real 79 Firebird, I might be able to help.
  20. Obviously you've never eaten in Texas!!! Their idea of "mild" food would make the devil sweat!
  21. Are you talking about the show on Discovery? I don't watch it, but they had two other T.I.V.'s on "Mythbusters" last week and they were awesome! Of course, the one you pictured puts a whole new meaning to "Built Ford Tough"!
  22. Sean, please refer to my previous post. Those parts required a slight bit of scrubbing with an old toothbrush, if you'd leave parts overnight, the chrome should almost just fall off.
  23. I would say at least give the vote thread a try, but it's up to you, Jairus.
  24. Wonderful! Beautiful! Perfect! If I had three thumbs, they'd all be up!
  25. HEY, I resemble that remark! I might be fat, but at least I'm in shape. Round is a shape, right!?!?
